It is necessary to select Sasang Constitution-specific (SC-s) herbs from these databases in order to study the prescriptions in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Methods SC-s herbs and their processing types listed in 󰡔Dongyisusebowon Sinchukbon󰡕 were searched from TCMID and TCMSP. Results and Conclusions 1. There were total 144 herbs (Soeum 47, Soyang 37, Taeeum 44, Taeyang 16 specific herbs) listed in 󰡔Dongyisusebowon Sinchukbon󰡕. 2. There were total 130 herbs (Soeum 43, Soyang 37, Taeeum 42, Taeyang 8 specific herbs) searched from TCMID, and total 92 herbs (Soeum 31, Soyang 30, Taeeum 27, Taeyang 4 specific herbs) from TCMID. 3. In some cases, the name given in 󰡔Dongyisusebowon Sinchukbon󰡕 was different from that in TCMID and TCMSP. It was needed to be careful during the searching process. 4. Although the processing form of some herbs could be searched, there was a significant reduction in the herbal compound information compared to the raw form. It is necessary to reconsider whether or not to use the processing form. 5. Herbal scientific names given in TCMID and TCMSP or used in China and Korea were different each other in some cases. Additional screening process among such herbs would be required based on the efficacy of herbs used in clinical field.","PeriodicalId":17064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sasang Constitutional Medicine","volume":"39 1","pages":"19-33"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88502874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study was to examine the stability across the time using middle school students whose physical and psychological characteristics were most rapidly changing. Methods The 122 middle school students (65 boys and 57 girls) completed the SPQ at 1st year and 2nd year with one-year time difference. Cronbach’s α and Pearson’s correlation analysis were employed in order to show the internal consistency and stability over one-year interval after considering sex difference. Results The internal consistency of SPQ-T, SPQ-B, SPQ-C, SPQ-E using Cronbach’s α were .61, .72, .28, .28 in 2016 and .62, .72, .26, .46 in 2017. The one-year test-retest reliability of SPQ-T, SPQ-B, SPQ-C, SPQ-E using Pearson’s correlation analysis were .56, .61, .31, .23 in boys and .58, .63, .64, .29 in girls. Conclusion The current study showed the stability of Yin-Yang temperament across the one-year time suggesting that the Yin-Yang temperament is quite stable and measurable concept and the SPQ would be considered as an objective and reliable personality assessment.","PeriodicalId":17064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sasang Constitutional Medicine","volume":"15 1","pages":"94-101"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87103602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods We investigated the provisions associated with splenic constipation written in 󰡔Donguisusebowon󰡕, 󰡔Donguibogam(東醫 寶鑑)󰡕, 󰡔Shanghanlun(傷寒論)󰡕 and several papers which related to splenic constipation. The symptoms of splenic constipation include sweating and smooth urination. 2. Splenic constipation in 󰡔Donguisusebowon󰡕, 󰡔Shanghanlun󰡕, 󰡔Donguibogam󰡕 is based on fluid deficiency, but splenic constipation in 󰡔Donguisusebowon󰡕 is focused on sweating unlike 󰡔Shanghanlun󰡕 and sweating was quoted in 󰡔Donguibogam󰡕. 3. Methods Peer-reviewed articles on type-specific pathophysiological symptoms of urination and defecation published until September 2016 were extracted from domestic and international six databases. Clinical characteristics from thirteen extracted articles were categorized into three urination domains of appearance of urine, capacity of bladder and urinary discomfort, and three defecation domains of irritability of bowel movement, functional constipation and discomfort from irregularity. Results As for the urination, Tae-Eum type showed dark color with foam, however So-Eum type had frequent urination and sensitivity to dysuria but no nocturia and residual urine sense. As for the defecation, So-Yang type showed frequent urgency and constipation, however So-Eum type reported loose stool. So-Yang type showed varied level of health status depending on defecation irregularity. There were disparities with rectal tenesmus among Sasang types. Discussion Six domains of urination and defecation related type-specific pathophysiological clinical symptoms were provided in this study. The purpose of this study aimed to know the association between seven health practices and self rated health by Sasang constitution. We recruited 367 subjects aged from 30 to 59. KS 15 questionnaire was used to classify Sasang constitution and visual analogue scale was used to estimate self rated health. Chi-square test was used to know the difference of occupation distribution by Sasang constitution. Anova test, T-test and Chi-square test also used to analyze the difference of self rated health between the health practice group and nonhealth group in individual Sasang constitution. SPSS 21.0K was used and significant p was <.05. Regular morning meal, non-snaking, good sleeping and sufficient exercise had higher self rated health score (p<.05). Regular morning meal, good sleeping and sufficient exercise had higher score in Tae-eumin (p<.05). Good sleeping had higher self rated health score in Soeumin and Soyangin (p<.05). These results suggest there is possibility that health practices for health promotion could be different according to Sasang constitution.","PeriodicalId":17064,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sasang Constitutional Medicine","volume":"21 1","pages":"32-42"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84469240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
