Visual teaching has always been an important component of education. Visual models combined with mathematical language help to express mathematical ideas. For mathematics teaching, the visual model is not only descriptive, educational and instructive, but also practical. One of the significant technologies to help to visualize in education is 3D printing. In this paper, we illustrate how 3D printing can help students and teachers in abstract conceptual understanding and mathematical proof in mathematics teaching. While discussing the close relationship between 3D printing technology and mathematics teaching, we propose a comprehensive mathematics education plan with 3D printing.","PeriodicalId":170587,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Innovation and Invention (ICKII)","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128171906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a solar irradiance information platform is set up to collect the relevant data for the solar irradiance forecasting. The solar irradiance information platform includes a pyranometer, a single board computer, a camera and a cloud server. By integrating the software and hardware of the solar irradiance information platform, real-time solar irradiances and sky images can be captured and stored in the MySQL database of the cloud server. Then, these solar irradiances and sky images are used to establish a neural network forecasting system. An improved electromagnetism-like algorithm is used to optimize the neural network prediction system. Finally, some comparison results are given to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":170587,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Innovation and Invention (ICKII)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121434507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We study an actual data set collected from a hard disk drive (HDD) manufacturing process. The dataset contains attributes such as date of production, materials used, and manufactured location as well as machine parameters of the Head Gimbal Assembly (HGA) production lines. The HGA products can be classified as pass or fail based on the attributes and machine parameters. In this work, we first pre-process the data using the regular data cleaning techniques. Subsequently, a clustering technique is performed to group the machine parameters into two clusters based on a measure of data similarity such as distances between clusters or dense areas of data. In the beginning, data will be randomly assigned to the clusters. Then, in each iteration, the NeSS algorithm will reassign the data to more related clusters until a stopping criterion is reached. Finally, different profiles of the passed and failed HGA products will be created. The methodology and results in this work should help the data analysts in a HDD company to understand problems on the manufacturing line and improve yield by monitoring the right set of parameters and configuring the values to fit the “passed” profile.","PeriodicalId":170587,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Innovation and Invention (ICKII)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116243133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are various types of solar cell defects in fabrication and operation. Various defects of solar cell might lower the photoelectron transformation efficiency. Among these defects, micro cracks occurring in the interior of solar wafers are most crucial. Micro cracks of solar cell is difficult to detect or visible in normal light. Currently, the most common method to detect invisible micro crack in solar cell is used by electroluminescence (EL) technique. In this study, based on crystalline silicon solar cells we investigate electro characteristics such as open voltage (Voc) and short-circuit current (Isc) after EL test of cell. In addition, we also develop an EL image inspection system for roughly evaluation in normal area of the solar cell under test. However, this is an experimental prototyping system, the accuracy of micro cracks detection for solar cell is still depended on the quality of EL image and test instruments settings.","PeriodicalId":170587,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st IEEE International Conference on Knowledge Innovation and Invention (ICKII)","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132588316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
