The optimally designed machine is a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator with 48 poles and 30 kW for direct drive wind turbines. The energy yield is considered in the optimization method by including the cost of losses in the objective function, which is then the sum of cost of losses, cost of materials and structure costs. To show the advantages of employing this strategy, the results of a standard optimization strategy, which minimizes the generator costs not regarding energy production, are also presented and compared. It is shown that this strategy results in a machine that produces more energy during its lifetime, which compensates its higher cost. Finite element analysis software is used to verify and validate the resulting machine.","PeriodicalId":169529,"journal":{"name":"2015 Tenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133654500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel double-rotor switched reluctance motor (DR-SRM) is proposed, which consists of a double-side stator with two sets of windings on the corresponding stator teeth and an auxiliary excitation winding on the sharing stator yoke, as well as one internal rotor and one external rotor. With the help of auxiliary excitation windings, the proposed DR-SRM could optimize the power allocations of the internal and external rotors by means of flux-weakening and flux-strengthening control of two sets of windings. The characteristics of magnetic flux control on the proposed DR-SRM are demonstrated by finite element analysis.","PeriodicalId":169529,"journal":{"name":"2015 Tenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114295277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Time is a limiting factor which prevents the effective use of biological treatment method, since the biodegradation of oil products is highly dependent on the season of a year and takes place only during the warm period, when the microorganisms act as active decomposers. Biodegradation of oil and its products takes about 9 months in a temperate climate zone. By properly organizing the modern biological systems of treatment of soil polluted by oil products, considerably better result can be achieved compared to previously used methods. Soil heating is one of ways to increase the intensity of biodegradation process of oil products. For this purpose the solar energy, one of the alternative energy sources, was used. Changes of diesel fuel and heavy fuel oil concentrations in soil during cold and warm season were studied. In order to determine the heat transfer process in soil, the modeling of the part of defined solar system had been done. The modeling realized using FEM (Finite Element Method) computer software constituted on numerical solution of heat equation. Simulation results indicate the dependency of contaminated soil temperature from the outer air temperature as well as comparing the physical experiments with the modeling results. To summarize the results we can state, that the outcome of biological treatment of samples using solar-based heating system during cold and warm seasons was better in both cases of pollutants. Heat produced by solar collector intensified the process of degradation of pollutants: in samples with solar-based water heating system, the diesel fuel removal level reached 70 %, in case of heavy fuel oil - 46 %, and in control samples it was 54 % for diesel fuel and 26% for heavy fuel oil. The treatment time of soil contaminated with oil products decreased accordingly. The obtained results allow to propose new technological principles of remediation of polluted soil, which decrease the treatment time, and thus the cost, and extends the area of application of alternative energy sources.","PeriodicalId":169529,"journal":{"name":"2015 Tenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125075210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To optimize its energy use it is necessary to develop more efficient or new thermal systems. Detailed measurements of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system parameters are mandatory for designing, creating and evaluating new vehicle energy concepts. In further studies a virtual car was simulated using the Alternative Vehicles Library [1] created by the Institute of vehicle Concepts of German Aerospace Center. In this paper, we are interested in supplying in full-wave voltage. The second part describes the expected performance with this control mode. In the third part, we present a hybrid excitation flux switching synchronous machine (HEFSSM) whose characteristics make it a potential candidate for electric motors of hybrid or electric vehicles. The experimental results of this HEFSSM containing ferrite permanent magnets (Br=0,4T) fed in full-wave voltage to convert the maximal power are presented in the fourth part. An analytic prediction of the air gap flux density distribution is developed in a first step, considering the case of slottless machine and the case where the slotting effect is taken into consideration. The established model enables, thanks to a simple formulation, the assessment of the cogging force assuming an “infinite” length machine. Then, the influence of the end effect on the cogging force is investigated in the case of the real machine. The study is extended to a cogging force reduction approach devoted to a quasi-cancellation of the end effect. It consists in a two-step procedure, such that: (i) achieving a 2π/3-shift between the armature winding flux linkages by arranging the ratio of the stator pole pitch to the mover one, and (ii) balancing the amplitudes of these flux linkages by extending the stator magnetic circuit with teeth of appropriate dimensions. The cogging force prediction of the T-LPMSM following the quasi-cancellation of its end effect highlights the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":169529,"journal":{"name":"2015 Tenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115562044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rotor position is necessary to achieve the vector control drive system of the PMSM. In this paper, the resolver sensor detecting the rotor position of PMSM is focused. Resolver is the one of position sensors that can measure the initial rotor position at standstill. The resolver algorithm is proposed and implemented in the vector control drive system of PMSM. The proposed scheme has been verified by both simulation and experiment using MATLAB/Simulink and the dSP1104 based digital controller, respectively. Simulations and experimental results well demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.","PeriodicalId":169529,"journal":{"name":"2015 Tenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER)","volume":"35 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116597963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
