Modern type of foamed concrete represents cementitious composite material group which may be competitive with traditionally used autoclaved aerated concrete. Innovative mixing method makes possible stabilizing of foamed concrete mixture and improving the microstructure of material. The\u0000aim of this study is to investigate physical and mechanical properties of non-autoclaved concrete such as density and\u0000compressive strength, and capillary water absorption depending on intensive mixing time. In this research microstructure, such as pore size diameters, depending on mixing time is also analysed.
The proceedings of the 13th international conference "Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques" (MBMST 2019)

In assessing this effect, it is necessary to know the magnitude of the vertical stresses\u0000and the nature of the distribution in the shear plane. The soil shear resistance depends on the size of the vertical stresses\u0000and the nature of the distribution in the shear plane. These factors depend on the interaction of the soil with the vertical\u0000walls of the device, i.s. friction between the soil and the walls. At the beginning of the test, the vertical stresses on the\u0000shear plane will be lower than the added pressure at the top of the sample, however the stresses increases due to dilation\u0000during the test. Before the test ends, the stresses in the shear plane will be higher than at the top of the sample. The analysis was performed using the PLAXIS 3D software.
The proceedings of the 13th international conference "Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques" (MBMST 2019)

In addition to the fixed-base condition, three different soil types (i.e. dense soil, stiff soil, and soft soil) were considered in this investigation. Site conditions were characterized by their average effective profile velocities, Poisson’s ratios, and finally mass densities. Soil-foundation flexibility was introduced using the spring-based approach, utilizing foundation springs and dashpots. The first step was to investigate the influence of different base conditions on modal parameters of the steel lattice tower. In the final part of the current study time-history analysis was performed using different two-component ground motion records (in two horizontal, mutually perpendicular directions). The results obtained indicate that modal parameters and dynamic response of the structure may be considerably affected by the soil-structure interaction effects. Therefore, the present paper confirms the necessity of utilizing soil-flexibility into numerical research.
The proceedings of the 13th international conference "Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques" (MBMST 2019)

The beams\u0000previously tested experimentally under long-term loading are selected for numerical simulation. The numerical modelling is\u0000performed by evaluating the beam’s work at various stages: the work stage before the long-term loading period, the work\u0000stage under the long-term load action, the work stage when the external load is removed and the work stage until failure. The\u0000work stages of all modelled beams are described in more detail. To analyse the behaviour of beams at different work stages,\u0000the numerical modelling using the phase analysis is performed. Different finite element groups are evaluated in each phase of\u0000analysis. The external load is increased, maintained and reduced. The finite elements of the CFRP layer are activated at a\u0000certain work stage for evaluating the strengthening effect. To assess the accuracy of the numerical analysis, each beam is\u0000modelled from the finite elements of various sizes. The paper presents the process of the numerical modelling and the\u0000predicted deflections. The numerically predicted deflections are compared with the deflections of the experimental study. The\u0000modelling of the behaviour of the strengthened beams has shown that the nature of the long-term deflection differs from that\u0000obtained in the experiment. The increment of the numerically predicted deflection decreases gradually over the long-term\u0000period. Meanwhile, the experimental long-term deflection increment is characterised by the sharp increase and decrease at\u0000the start of the long-term period. This contradiction shows that the experimental long-term deflections are greater. However,\u0000over time, the numerical model deflections may reach and exceed the experimental deflections due to steady increase. The\u0000smaller size of the finite elements causes the increase in the cracking moment and the higher moment when the yielding of\u0000the tensioned reinforcement occurs. However, the cracking moment obtained by the numerical modelling is much higher\u0000than that obtained by the experimental modelling. However, when the yielding strength of the tensile reinforcement is\u0000reached, the considered moment is smaller than the experimental one.
The proceedings of the 13th international conference "Modern Building Materials, Structures and Techniques" (MBMST 2019)
