High selectivity of dexmedetomidine (1620:1) makes it the optimal drug among all representatives of the alpha-2adrenoreceptor agonist class for use in relatively small animals. Dexmedetomidine is currently the most popular sedative used for premedication and sedation, as well as in multimodal analgesia in a constant-rate infusion mode in intensive care. In 2024, a domestic drug with the trade name «Dexody» of the pharmaceutical company «Apicenna» with the active substance dexmedetomidine was registered. The drug is a complete analogue of the original drug and is approved for use in veterinary medicine.

To compare acaricidal efficacy of BARS® insectoacaricidal drops and Frontline Spot On against ixodid ticks attacking dogs and cats. \u0000 \u0000Materials and methods. The studies were conducted in parallel groups of 10 animals each: group 1 ‒ experimental group (tested preparation BARS® insectoacaricidal drops), group 2 ‒ comparison preparation (Frontline Spot On). The preparations were applied in accordance with the instructions once by drop application to dry intact skin in places inaccessible for licking. Then the acute and residual acaricidal efficacy was evaluated – (the duration of acaricidal action, day). \u0000Results and conclusions. Acute acaricidal efficacy of BARS® insectoacaricidal drops and comparison preparation ‒ Frontline Spot On, in spontaneous ixodidosis of cats and dogs in 3 hours after treatment was 100 %. \u0000The preparation BARS® insectocaricidal drops 1 hour and 2 hours after treatment of animals is more effective on average by 8.2…8.3 % than Frontline Spot On. \u0000The duration of acaricidal action was almost equivalent in the studied drugs and lasted from 30 to 50 days when using the drug BARS® insecticidal drops, and from 25 to 50 days when using the drug Frontline Spot On. \u0000The conducted studies allow us to conclude about high efficiency and safety of BARS® insectoacaricidal drops developed by «AVZ» Ltd. Normal cornea OCT scans characteristics for cats and dogs are given. OCT scans of various corneal pathologies in cats and dogs are presented and the identified pathological changes are described. Corneal OCT scan results of animals after keratoplasty operations with the use of various grafts forms have a great clinical interest. To study the spread of cryptosporidiosis of calves in the conditions of private farmsteads in some areas on the territory of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. \u0000Materials and methods. Fecal samples from 55 calves (clinically healthy and sick, with signs of diarrhea) aged 3 to 50 days were examined for the presence of the causative agent of cryptosporidiosis using the native smear method. The finished smears were fixed according to the Nikiforov method, stained with carbolic fuchsin according to Ziehl–Neelsen and examined under a binocular light microscope «Micromed-3» with an immersion lens. Cryptosporidium oocysts acquire a rich pink-red color when stained by Ziehl–Neelsen. The final diagnosis was established based on the detection of oocysts characteristic of this invasion. Scientific articles published in the bibliographic databases such as e-library, Scopus, and ResearchGate were used for this review. It has been established that artificial insemination has significant advantages over natural insemination, including reliable long-term storage of sperm in cryobanks, the possibility of exporting and importing genetic material without transporting animals, and obtaining offspring from elite male producers from anywhere in the world, even after their death. \u0000The time of artificial insemination and natural mating is determined by the date of ovulation using direct (ultrasound visualization of the ovaries) or indirect methods (picture of vaginal smears, multiple measurements of blood progesterone concentration, etc.). In dogs, the egg cell ovulates immature at the stage of the oocyte of the first order. For this reason, it is recommended to inseminate them on the 2nd… 5th days after ovulation, when egg maturation ends in the fallopian tube - the formation of a second-order oocyte. \u0000For dog insemination, freshly obtained, diluted chilled, and cryopreserved sperm are used. When using freshly obtained and diluted cooled sperm, the method of choice is an intra-vaginal method of sperm administration, and frozen-thawed sperm requires transcervical intrauterine insemination under video endoscopic control.
