The antenna is centrally fed by a probe and operating in quasi TM01δ mode which is similar to the TM01δ mode of cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna. An impedance bandwidth (S11 <; -10 dB) of 2.48 GHz (47%) is obtained and the peak gain varies from 3.6 dBi-4.05 dBi in the matching band with maximum at 5.5 GHz. The antenna radiates like electric monopole, resulting in omnidirectional radiation pattern. Antennas are essential components in these wireless devices. In recent years, there has been an increased interest in operating at the ultra-high frequency (UHF) band. It is well known that the ISM 433, 433.050-434.790 MHz frequency bands [1] is widely used for low data rate applications, such as Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and remote controls. This paper presents a miniaturized meander structure printed pcb antenna for ultra high frequency application. The proposed antenna of size 50mm×40mm, is designed to operate at frequency 433 MHz with 7 MHz bandwidth. The proposed antenna is designed on FR-4 substrate with a thickness of 1.6 mm. Good return loss and radiation pattern characteristic are obtained in frequency of interest. The study is based on the ground-based scatterometer experiment conducted on the fields at the remote sensing test site of International Centre for Radio Science (ICRS), Jodhpur, India. During the month of July 2013, a number of experiments were carried out and a large amount of in situ data could be collected at a range of incident angles. Synchronously, the gravimetric soil moisture values were determined for the sandy soil of the test site. The performance and usefulness of this algorithm is analyzed under different failure scenarios and also in different noisy environment. In this paper we have made a study on the tolerance level of this element failure, for which the estimated value of DoA remain in acceptable limit. The proposed antenna consists of three staircase-shaped radiating elements, which are integrated on a single 45mm × 25mm × 1.6mm FR-4 substrate. Spatial and polarization diversity within the antenna elements provided an average isolation of more than 20 dB throughout the UWB band. The combiner structure is consisting of a cylindrical cavity; RF post-couplers, 36 nos., connected to N-type input ports; and a 1⅝\" EIA coaxial combiner output port & coupler. Distinctive feature of this structure is that of inputs which are conductively coupled to the cavity; providing perfect symmetry for in-phase excitation, structural stability for its long term performance and that facilitating a large numbers of RF inputs to be combined.
