Calculation of cloud attenuation at Ku and Ka band frequencies over Indian region
Atmospheric parameters such as pressure, temperature, dew-point temperature, relative humidity are obtained from radiosonde data for the subtropical region, Karaikal, India. From these parameters, cloud liquid water contents and cloud attenuations are obtained using Salonen and Uppala and ITU-R models at Karaikal (India). Total liquid water contents and total attenuation values of Karaikal station are compared with total liquid water contents and total attenuation values of few other stations in India.
