The PSO algorithm is a general optimization method to adjust nonlinear functions. Regarding to special consideration of issue, this method can considerably lead to optimization (increase or decrease) of various objective functions. In this paper, in order to enhancement of optimization procedure, the gradually reducing inertia weight approach has been used by progress of PSO algorithm. The offered method has been simulated on IEEE 30-bus standard network by MATLAB software. Comparison of the results of the present method with other ones, such as genetic algorithm and gradient method obviously showed its superiority. Furthermore, it can provide desired goals like decreasing of fuel cost and optimization of the voltage profile.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"132 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120866347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High processing-power available today, makes possible the high process-consuming tasks. In this paper, gender detection of over 18 years old persons is investigated based on their frontal facial images. First the feature-extraction is studied and the best features in a facial image are introduced. A Neural Network (NN) based method is developed for gender detection and a database of 200 females and 200 males is gathered for training and testing the neural network. To eliminate restrictions on race and ethnicity, the database is produced based on some standard Iranian pictures and standard databases exist on this subject. The result of implementation of the proposed method shows completely a noticeable improvement in accuracy, compared to previously performed researches.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121084616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposed a new method for eye detection using edge detection and Euclidean distance. In the proposed method, skin region is specified using a skin detection technique which employs some formulas in two different color spaces. In the specified skin region, horizontal edges are detected by combining the results of two known masks, Prewitt and Sobel. By using morphology operations such as dilatation and erosion, very small edges are removed and close edges are connected. The face region is divided to three parts: the upper right quarter, the upper left quarter and the lower half. In each part, the biggest binary object is found as the right eye, the left eye and the mouth. In order to verify the previous steps, the distances between left eye center to mouth center and right eye center to mouth center are found. The proposed method is tested on PICS, which is a database containing face images. It shows 93 percentage accuracy in an acceptable time.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125785470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the dual-buck inverter is used for grid connection of PV cells. Instead of IGBTs, the MOSFETs are used in this topology. Therefore, the switching frequency can be increased and as a result, the filter size is reduced. This type of inverter doesn't need any dead time and hence, the short-through which is a major problem in typical voltage source inverters, is avoided and as a result, the system reliability is increased. The efficiency of this converter is higher than that of other IGBT-based converters due to less power loss of MOSFETs. The discrete vector space switching method is used as the switching scheme of this inverter.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133765361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DTCWT provides significant different levels of information about the nature of the data in terms of time and frequency. It also fights the problem of discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) variance. Signal Energy Contribution Efficiency (ECE) and Kurtosis in wavelet sub-bands is important to evaluate the noise content. Accordingly, a noise removal factor is provided. The proposed method is presented using these factors at baseline levels and Donoho threshold in other remaining levels. The performance of proposed method was evaluated and compared with other methods. Filtered signal quality was analyzed using the percentage root mean square difference (PRD), signal to noise (SNR) and mean square error (MSE) criteria. It is observed that the proposed method not only filters the signal better than the most prominent methods, but also effectively helps to maintain diagnostic information.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133708972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The operation is done with adoption active session of user with discovered usage profiles. Clustering is one of the usage profile discovery methods. In the distance based clustering methods, the precision of distance measure is very important. To effectively provide sage profiles, we have proposed a system that process log files of web servers then extract user sessions and prepare them for clustering and discovering usage profiles. We have introduced a new hybrid distance measure that involved both syntactic similarities between URL's of session and time connectivity between all pairs of URL's in a session. Our experimental results on music machine dataset show that by using new distance measure in proposed system, cluster coherency and accuracy of the usage profiles are increased.","PeriodicalId":168295,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Conference on Knowledge-Based Engineering and Innovation (KBEI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129466068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to area efficiency achieved by replacing the capacitor with MOS transistors, the integration of the analogue bootstrapped switch would become compatible with standard digital CMOS technologies.
