Mardiyanti Syam, Mawaddah Tajuddin, Abd Hafid, Idrus L","doi":"10.31538/nzh.v6i3.4209","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31538/nzh.v6i3.4209","url":null,"abstract":"This article discusses the implementation of the Program Diniyah Formal (PDF) organized by four Islamic boarding schools in South Sulawesi, namely PDF Al-Junaidiyah in Bone Regency, PDF Asadiyah in Sengkang Regency, PDF Mangkoso in Barru Regency, and PDF Nahdatul Ulum in Maros Regency. This research is evaluative research using a discrepancy model. The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a gap between the standards/criteria for implementing PDF and its actual implementation. The indicators used in this study are derived from the criteria for high school education set by the National Secondary School Accreditation Body (BAN-SM), which is divided into four aspects: graduate quality, learning process, teacher quality, and madrasah management. The instruments used include questionnaires, interview guidelines, and documentation guidelines. Based on the results, the evaluation of the quality of PDF graduates at Islamic boarding schools in South Sulawesi is classified as good. Meanwhile, the evaluation of the PDF learning process at Islamic boarding schools in South Sulawesi is classified as fair. To achieve this objective, the study poses two research questions. Firstly, the research aims to analyze the influence of leadership in Islamic boarding schools (madrasah) and the working environment on teacher performance, both separately and collectively. Secondly, the research aims to identify and analyze variables that have a dominant influence in this context. These questions will be directed to respondents who have knowledge or understanding relevant to the research theme, which includes the leadership of madrasah principals, the working environment, and teacher performance. Based on the foregoing description, the preliminary results of this research indicate that leadership in the madrasah and the working environment significantly influence teacher performance. In other words, the more effective the leadership in the madrasah and the supportive working environment, the higher the level of teacher performance that can be achieved. Additionally, the research suggests that the role of madrasah leadership has a more dominant influence on teacher performance compared to other factors considered in this study. This research is a quantitative study with a survey approach. The data used are primary data obtained directly from 86 respondents through questionnaires. This condition has more or less directly affected the consideration of parents in choosing a school, especially in the digital era. This research is conducted using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. The quantitative method is performed by analyzing the potential of the schools chosen by parents, while the qualitative method is to find out the opinions of parents in more depth in choosing schools for their children. TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) analysis is performed which involves three experts in assessing good schools in the digital era. Three types of schools are used as research objects such as Islamic Boarding Schools, Public Schools, and Subsidized Schools. Some interesting findings related to considerations of parents in choosing a school are related to religious education for their children, access to education, and also the reason for the relatively expensive cost of Islamic-based schools. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire with a population of 665, taking a sample of 30 students. The questionnaire results explained that 18 questions on variable X were declared valid, and on variable Y, all were declared valid. In the Reliability Test, Cronbach's alpha Reliability Statistics data of 0.817 > 0.6 shows that the variable instrument of the effectiveness of the ta'lim program is reliable. There is a significant linear relationship between the variable efficacy of the ta'lim program (X) and the variable of strengthening Islamic education (Y) obtained from the significance value of deviation from linearity is 0.203, which means greater than 0.05. A short framework of the development and status of maktabs in Bosnia and Herzegovina as basic nonformal institutions of Islamic education among Muslims is provided in the introduction. The aim of the research is to examine the attitudes and experiences of muallims regarding the possibilities of realizing the fundamental areas of religious education/upbringing, and the use of approaches, methods, and forms of religious education of children in maktabs. This part of the research also aims to examine the perceptions of muallims about the importance of the principles of religious upbringing of children. The findings show that through methodical/didactical religious education work with children, it is possible to develop all areas of education and that this process runs simultaneously, building a complete personality of the child. It is also apparent that muallims respect the basic educational principles, with a note that the certain educational principles are difficult to fully implement due to numerous limitations. The stages in question follow the pattern of the reduction stage, the stage of presenting data, making temporary conclusions, and verification activities. The research findings conclude that two values become the vision and mission of the Al-Ikhlas Wuluhan Islamic boarding school; first, the value of human beings, namely the teaching that students must balance between religion and the world; in other words, Islam does not only pay attention to the afterlife issues but also pays attention to worldly problems, the second is the value of brotherhood or ukhuwah basyariyah, namely brotherhood that applies to all human beings universally without distinguishing race, religion, ethnicity and other aspects of specificity with the details of the rights of fellow human beings in property by taking into account the needs of their siblings with excess wealth, the rights of fellow human beings in guarding speech. While the religious activities carried out by the Al-Ikhlas Wuluhan Jember Islamic Boarding School in improving the ahlussunnah wal-jama'ah character of the students are internal activities carried out and attended by only the core students, internal activities include sorogan al-Qur'an, mudzakarah, evening dhikr, and khidmad. It aims to uncover the key curricular reforms and societal influences that have contributed to its academic excellence. This study highlights Japan's exceptional academic leadership. It traces it back to historical milestones, academic reforms, societal attitudes, and cultural frameworks. Notably, the Japanese educational model emphasizes principles such as effort, collaboration, problem-solving, and comprehensive education, which have played a significant role in their success. By drawing inspiration from these findings, school policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders in the Arab and Islamic worlds can consider adopting and adapting elements of the Japanese educational model. This will inform curricular reforms and foster academic excellence. Moreover, this study recognizes the importance of fostering a collaborative exchange of ideas and experiences between Japan and the Arab and Islamic worlds. By embracing Japan's historical lessons and engaging in transformative dialogues, both regions can shape the future of education, promoting deeper understanding and more effective policies. However, it is imperative to acknowledge the limitations of this study, such as the limited sample size, cases, and variations. Therefore, further research is warranted to explore more diverse cases, larger sample sizes, and varied demographics. Chande","doi":"10.31538/nzh.v6i2.3502","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31538/nzh.v6i2.3502","url":null,"abstract":"This paper argues that the main objective of the ‘Islamization of knowledge’ project is to assert Muslim ownership over their institutions by developing an alternative system of learning/knowledge production that serves as a foundation for re-inventing/renewing the Islamic traditions to cope with the multitude of challenges that Muslims face today. These challenges stem from a number of intertwining factors that influence this process, including the modern advances that accompanied the colonial and post-colonial developments that shaped and reshaped the intellectual culture and institutions of Muslim and non-Muslim societies precisely by allowing Western methodological approaches to set the agenda and the objectives of the schools. Accordingly, proponents of the Islamization of knowledge such as Naquib al-Atas, Ismail al-Faruqi, Taha Jaber al-Alwani, and others have developed their own different approaches to the production of knowledge and in so doing have generated a philosophical discourse that offers a critique of modern/Western knowledge and its epistemological and methodological assumptions. What, therefore, has been the outcome of the Islamization of knowledge project in terms of producing, for instance, Islamic social sciences, broadly defined, in the areas of, say, economics, sociology, political science, and so on? How have normative teachings of Islam, its ethical concerns, and Muslim efforts to come to terms with modernity (an ideology that carries the values and ideas of triumphant capitalism and secularism) been incorporated into these disciplines to counter or respond to Western hegemony and Eurocentric and orientalist order of knowledge? Finally, have Muslims succeeded in bringing together scholars of the text (fuqaha) and scholars of the context (experts in different fields of knowledge from social sciences to sciences) to deal with pressing modern problems that require new interpretations? To obtain accountable research results, researchers used qualitative methods with a case study approach. The results of this study state that the implementation of the sisir method for students of kalong at PPTQ Baitul Basyar has been running systematically and achieving learning objectives with very good results. The quality of Al-Qur'an memorization has met three components, namely fluent memorization, proportional makharijul huruf, and appropriate tajwid. The thiqah Al-Qur'an hafiz advisor also supports the effectiveness of the Al-Qur'an memorization process in keeping the quality of Al-Qur'an memorization. The advantage of the method of working is the sisir method, which memorizes from the end of the juz to the beginning of the juz, and recites it every 5 juz, then after completing the 30 juz it is recited from the beginning to the end of the juz, can keep the quality of memorizing the Al-Qur'an students evenly and avoid a continuous error. In this study, data analysis was carried out since the data collection was rechecked. The study results concluded that the leadership strategy of K.H. Rouhin Huda in improving the quality of education of the Amanatullah Islamic Boarding School in Banyuwangi is carried out by changing the mindset of human resources.
