Furthermore, the aim is to promote the varied relationships between digital citizenship and education, from educational theory and policy to educational practice and research. Thus, we have extracted the documents from databases in Web of Science (the search results of \"digital citizen*\" were 411) and they were examined with the bibliographic analysis tool VOSviewer. The description of the documents claims to a dizzying rate in the last three years (half of the total) and to the importance of education as a category of scientific discipline (one third of the total). The bibliometric analysis provided co-occurrences by keywords and co-authorships by nationalities. The conclusions are the rise of the keywords \"social media\", \"education\" and \"surveillance\"; the increase of documents focused on youth and their digital engagement; and the relevance of American researchers followed by Spanish researchers.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116374942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is unclear how self-regulated learners demonstrate their behaviors in blended learning environments. In this study, an academic reading and writing system was taken as a tool to collect graduate students' learning behaviors. The participants were the first-year graduate students, who took a blended course. In the course, they were required to read literature, do in/post-reading activities, take assessment and write essays in the system before classes every week. In order to further understand the behavior patterns of self-regulated graduate students, the participants were divided as high and low self-regulated learning group. The results showed that although both groups used similar times of system functions, they demonstrated different behavior patterns in terms of lag sequential analysis. Furthermore, the high self-regulated learners tended to look back at what they had done, and flexibly adjust their actions of reading and writing papers. On the contrary, instead of paper writing, the low self-regulated learners might treat tests as their goals and demonstrate simpler behavior patterns.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125652884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The face recognition function based on the convolutional neural network and k-Nearest Neighbor classification method allows the early childhood robot to recognize a specified face. The two-degree-of-freedom PTZ can be automatically adjusted based on the PID (proportion-integralderivative) control to track a face. Preschool robots actively interact with young children and send their video information to parents in real-time, effectively establishing a communication bridge between the family and the campus. Because the preschool robot can track the specified face ID and send the video information directly to the parents, this avoids the wrong tracking of non-children and protects privacy to a large extent.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124697712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Not for business purposes only, the big data has the potential to create significant value to assist law enforcement or to improve the policy for the decision-making process. The features of big data that have the ability to handle massive data volume and variety at high velocity, can be used in fields of policing to improve organization operation. The data are valuable for Geographic Information System (GIS) based decision-making. With intelligent GIS, information can be updated across the organization immediately. Geospatial Modelling (GM) is to help in the analysis solution in order to improve the decision-making process in the daily operation of the police. The GM technique is designed to discover patterns data involving the location and other spatial related information such as density. The patterns data consist of valuable traffic density will be used to simulate routes planning in the patrol car. This paper presents the approach on how to generate valuable traffic density to accurately dispatch the patrol cars in a geographic environment as well as to reduce criminal cases.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"38 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114128431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among them, the code correction problem (CRP) requests a student to correct a given source code that have intentionally injected errors, so that it can pass the unit test on JUnit using test code that describes the specifications of the code such as names and data types of classes, methods, and variables. In Java, a lot of class libraries are available, which makes this language popular in various practical applications. Thus, the study of their proper use is important for students. In this paper, we extend CRP for class library studies by considering method names in class libraries for errors in the error injection algorithm. As the first step study, Wrapper classes are selected in generating CRP instances. We confirm the effectiveness of this extension through preliminary applications to 10 students in Okayama University.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"149 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128070355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Keeping in mind, the growing importance of data science, under-graduates need to be introduced to data science courses in their first year of under-graduation itself. Although first year undergraduates are furnished with the required mathematical and statistical concepts during their higher secondary education, a requirement of understanding sophisticated programming concepts hamstrings universities from offering courses in data science to first year undergraduates. As an outcome of our research, we propose a software named MetaData. MetaData abstracts all levels of implementation and helps students better understand the fundamental concepts in data science by observing the applicability of these concepts on real-world datasets. We justify the effectiveness of the tool through a data science classroom scenario, wherein 44 first year undergraduates were encouraged to use the tool and provide constructive feedback.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"24 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113980407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, an important issue in its success is the effects of the class discussions because they can activate students' learning from their interactions and the articulation and reflection of learning contents in their own words. In addition, an inquiry-based quality talk incorporates robust features from both of the inquiry-based discussion and the quality talk to provide students with an active and effective learning way for their class discussions. In this paper, we explore the accommodation of such an inquiry-based quality talk method in our ePUB3 eBook-based flipped learning model to enhance the effectiveness of students' learning. The accommodated model is then illustratively applied to an academic 'Reading & Writing' class where a quasi-experimental study on the control analysis of experimental and controlled groups is conduced to verify its validity.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126023130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On this basis, the educational agenda in terms of education for digital citizenship should be rethought. To do so, we start from the profile and needs of digital citizenship that characterize a sample of university students (n=250), evaluated through the Choi, Glassman and Cristol Digital Citizenship Scale. The results show young university students with high technical and digital knowledge, but with clear deficiencies in political and critical involvement. The proposal made in this paper is the result of working with the Sustainable Development Goals through a series of digital activities graduated according to the level of involvement.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122707281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the characteristic, for the clinical information system we adopted the 'flattening' idea to the curriculum integration. That was based on the modular teaching content integration, teaching method integration that was based on virtual teaching platform and teaching case integration based on system characteristics. Finally, for questionnaires of students who in five different majors had test teaching in one year. The questionnaires showed that the proportion is highest for the satisfaction score 70-80%, it has reached 40.5%. It was confirmed that the educational reform program of this research has certain effect.","PeriodicalId":166308,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 8th International Conference on Information and Education Technology","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133932235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
