In this study, we aimed to evaluate the biomechanical and histological healing effects of aspirin on the healing of the tendon-to-bone interface after rotator cuff tear repair. <b>Methods:</b> A total of 20 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups of 10 rats each. Group-C performed repaironly, and group-aspirin treated with aspirin after tendon repair. Group-aspirin rat were intraperitoneally injected with aspirin at 10 mg/kg every 24 h for 7 days. Eight weeks after surgery, the left shoulder of each rat was used for histological analysis and the right shoulder for biomechanical analysis. <b>Results:</b> In the biomechanical analysis, there was no significant difference in load-to-failure (group-C: 0.61 ± 0.32 N, group-aspirin: 0.74 ± 0.91 N; <i>p</i> = .697) and ultimate stress (group-C: 0.05 ± 0.01 MPa, group-aspirin: 0.29 ± 0.43 MPa; <i>p</i> = .095). For the elongation (group-C: 222.62 ± 57.98%, group-aspirin: 194.75 ± 75.16%; <i>p</i> = .028), group-aspirin confirmed a lower elongation level than group-C. However, its use and preparation remain controversial. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between anticoagulant use in the preparation of platelet-rich plasma and post-treatment pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Additionally, we explored the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma over medium- and long-term follow-up periods and identified other factors that may affect treatment outcomes.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>In this retrospective study, 225 patients with knee osteoarthritis, who underwent knee platelet-rich plasma treatment from June 2021 to January 2022, were examined at three study centres. Patients were categorised, based on the type and amount of anticoagulant used during platelet-rich plasma preparation, into 4% sodium citrate (SC) 0.6 mL, 4% SC 1 mL, 4% SC 2 mL, heparin 0.1 mL, and heparin 0.2 mL groups. We analysed the patients' basic information, pain after treatment, and inflammatory markers (i.e., interleukin 6, tumour necrosis factor-α, and hypersensitive C-reactive protein) in the joint fluid via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and joint fluid crystallisation. Additionally, we assessed the patients' Western Ontario and McMaster University scores and minimal clinically significant differences after treatment.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Patients in the 4% SC 0.6 mL and heparin 0.1 mL groups experienced less pain after platelet-rich plasma treatment than did patients in the high-dose anticoagulant group. The joint fluid of patients with pain in these groups had lower levels of inflammatory markers. Patients treated with SC had slightly better medium- and long-term therapeutic outcomes than did patients treated with heparin. Patients with poorly controlled hyperuricemia also experienced pain after platelet-rich plasma treatment.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The results suggest that platelet-rich plasma prepared using high-dose anticoagulants or administered to patients with poorly controlled hyperuricaemia may lead to moderate-to-severe knee pain and joint effusion after joint puncture therapy. Platelet-rich plasma had a therapeutic effect on knee osteoarthritis; however, its efficacy gradually decreased over time. SC anticoagulant is more suitable for platelet-rich plasma preparation than is heparin. It grows relatively slowly but is aggressive. The prognosis of middle-aged and elderly patients with chordoma is quite different from that of young patients with chordoma.</p><p><strong>Objectives: </strong>The purpose of the research was to construct a nomogram to predict the Individualized prognosis of middle-aged and elderly (age greater than or equal to 40 years) patients with chordoma.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>In this study, we screened 658 patients diagnosed with chordoma from 1983 to 2015 in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. We determined the independently prognostic factors that affect the survival of patients by univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards model. Based on the independent prognostic factors, we constructed a nomogram to predict the overall survival (OS) rates of middle-aged and elderly patients with chordoma at 3 and 5 years. The validation of this nomogram was completed by evaluating the calibration curve and the C-index.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>We screened a total of 658 patients and divided them into two cohort. Training cohort had 462 samples and validation cohort had 196 samples. The multivariate Cox proportional hazards model of the training group showed an association of age, tumor size, histology, primary site, surgery, and extent of disease with OS rates. Based on these results, we constructed the corresponding nomogram. One case each of talar deformity injury and bone disease were excluded, resulting in a selection of 20 cases. The medial and lateral target repair areas of the talus were formulated, and virtual surgery was performed by using digital orthopedic technology to locate an iliac-talar restoration on the iliac bone that matched the morphology of the multiplanar injury lesion of the talus. 3D chromatographic deviation analysis was used to assess the accuracy of Iliac-Talar Grafts in terms of morphometric matching and positioning, while personalized iliac bone extraction guides were designed to ensure accurate positioning of the Iliac-Talar Grafts. <b>Results:</b> The best fitting point for repairing the medial talar lesion is determined to be medial to the anterior iliac crest, specifically 2.935 ± 0.365 cm posterior to the anterior superior iliac spine, and 2.550 ± 0.559 cm anterior to the valgus-iliac crest point (VICP). Similarly, for the repair of the lateral talar lesion, the ideal position is found to be lateral to the posterior iliac crest, approximately 2.695 ± 0.640 cm posterior to the valgus-iliac crest point (VICP). This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the comparative efficacy of OLIF with anterior screw fixation (OLIF-AF) against OLIF with posterior pedicle fixation (OLIF-PF) in addressing these conditions.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>A systematic search across multiple databases identified five studies meeting inclusion criteria, incorporating a total of 271 patients. Comparative analysis encompasses primary and secondary outcomes related to fusion rates, intraoperative parameters, patient-reported measures, and radiographic assessments.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Primary outcome analysis demonstrated no statistically significant difference in total fusion rates between OLIF-AF and OLIF-PF. However, secondary outcomes revealed distinct advantages in OLIF-AF, showcasing lower intraoperative blood loss and reduced operative times compared to OLIF-PF. Nonetheless, patient-reported outcomes, encompassing measures such as pain scores and functional assessments, as well as radiographic parameters, exhibited no significant variations between the two techniques.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>While OLIF-AF displayed favorable results in intraoperative parameters, such as reduced blood loss and shorter operative times, it did not significantly differ in patient-reported outcomes and radiographic assessments compared to OLIF-PF. Interpretation of findings must consider limitations in sample sizes and study heterogeneity. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to address this gap by comparing HRQOL outcomes between UKA and TKA, providing valuable insights for clinical decision-making.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>We conducted a literature search in the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials (CENTRAL), and Web of Science databases up to July 15, 2023. Eligible studies assessed HRQOL using EQ-5D, SF-36, or SF-12 and were assessed for methodological quality using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS).</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Seven eligible studies were included, comprising a total of 64,585 patients with 35,809 undergoing TKA and 28,776 undergoing UKA. Patient age ranged from 52.0 to 67.7 years with an average BMI ranging from 27.2 to 31.0 kg/m<sup>2</sup>. Follow-up periods ranged from 6 months to 10 years. Five studies (63,829 patients) that evaluated HRQOL using EQ-5D showed significantly better outcomes for UKA compared to TKA (MD -0.04, 95% CI -0.05 to -0.02). Two studies (756 patients) that evaluated HRQOL using SF-36 showed no significant difference between TKA and UKA. Five studies (63,286 patients) that evaluated functional outcomes using Oxford Knee Score (OKS) showed significantly better functional scores for UKA compared to TKA (MD -1.29, 95% CI -1.86 to -0.72). Four studies (24,570 patients) that reported patient satisfaction showed no statistically significant difference between TKA and UKA (MD 0.97, 95% CI 0.90 to 1.05). Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the multiplane changes in the ankle joint following HTO using the EOS biplanar X-ray imaging system.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>The medical records of 43 patients who underwent HTO for the treatment of medial knee osteoarthritis were retrospectively reviewed. Preoperative and postoperative EOS images and lower-extremity scanograms were evaluated; the correlations between the outcomes were evaluated.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>After HTO, the ankle joint axis point on the weight-bearing line showed significant lateralization (<i>p</i> < .001). The knee lateral ankle surface angle increased significantly in the sagittal alignment (<i>p</i> < .001). The distal tibia showed a significant internal rotation in the axial plane (<i>p</i> = .022). Tibial rotation showed no significant relationship with the other parameters.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>HTO induced lateralization of the ankle joint axis (coronal), increased the posterior tibial slope (sagittal), and caused the internal rotation of the distal tibia (axial). Axial changes in the distal tibia showed no significant relationship with other coronal and sagittal parameters of the ankle joint. A receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis was performed to estimate the cut-off value of DAS28 at baseline to achieve remission 12 months after switching. <b>Results:</b> There was no significant difference in the DAS28 at baseline and 12 months after switching (<i>p</i> = .83). Sixteen out of the 20 patients in remission at baseline achieved remission after switching. A univariate analysis revealed the rheumatoid factor (<i>p</i> = .04) and DAS28 (<i>p</i> < .001) at baseline were significantly lower in the R group than in the N group. Furthermore, logistic regression analysis revealed DAS28 was an independent factor (<i>p</i> = .004) for achieving remission 12 months after switching. Objectives: The aim of this study was to report the frequency of OA utilizing shoulder MRI of patients with shoulder pathology. Methods: It was a retrospective study. After obtaining our IRB approval, we gathered all shoulder and upper arm MRIs from the radiology department and evaluated them. Results: The prevalence of OA was found to be 3.32%. The mean age of the affected patients was 50.87 years (25–81).
