It discusses the failure modes and fault models used. It then proposes a go no go test method for analog circuits. The method is based on the excitation of the circuit-under-test with a pseudo random binary sequence and the subsequent analysis of the captured response. The fault detection capabilities of the test and data analysis method are demonstrated by applying them to a continuous time filter circuit operating in the mid-band frequency range. An initial assessment of the impact of the input test sequence length on the detectability of faults is also discussed.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. We define user classes, each of them with different utilization of network channels. We consider the guard channel policy where certain number of channels is dedicated to handover calls, and also, the policy in which this number of channels is dynamically adapted to the network requirements. Our target is to obtain the influence of this methodology over performance parameters, such as call blocking and call dropping probability. Traffic, network and mobility parameters are also taken into account, such as cell capacity, traffic intensity, as well as number and distribution of subscribers per classes.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. The purpose of this investigation is to reveal what we can achieved with feedback control for a given system and whether more sophisticated control algorithms can improve closed-loop performance. The investigation is divided into performance and power consumption studies. The result of the first part is that hard constraints and not the nonlinear system dynamics is the main issue to deal with in a given case due to the chosen criterion for performance evaluation. Feedback control on the other hand influences plant power consumption. A few relatively simple strategies have been shown that could be used to decrease power consumption.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. Thus mobile operators need to build many BS sites to achieve this goal. However, this implementation will definitely increase the total network investment and take much longer in \"off-air\" time. Furthermore, in some areas where the mobile traffic is low, or areas that experience abnormal attenuation to radio frequency (RF), building new BS sites is not justified. Alternatively, broadband cellular repeaters, which transmit and receive the same RF signal simultaneously, can be used to provide reliable radio coverage in these areas. This paper studies the link level performance of broadband cellular repeaters as components of 3G mobile systems, based on wideband code division multiple access-frequency division duplex (WCDMA-FDD) that focus on uplink.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. In this paper the desensitisation using impedance tapering is applied to the design of LP 4/sup th/-order filters. The numerical design procedure was performed by Newton's iterative method. Analytically designed unity-gain LP 4/sup th/-order filters (Jurisic et al., 2004) can provide initial values for Newton's method. The sensitivities of a filter transfer function to passive components tolerances, as well as active gain variation are examined by the Schoeffler sensitivity and Monte Carlo PSpice simulation. Butterworth and Chebyshev 0.5dB filter examples illustrate the design method.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. Approaches on PSN support with regards to the management of their daily life by means of IT-based services are developed by the CONFIDENT project, which is partially funded by the European Commission. The developed platform is based on the \"access from anywhere paradigm\" and is built on a distributed and collaborative architecture based on Web services. This structure provides assistants and PSN with secure access to a service network from various devices. Multiple channels of communication are established so as to provide the users with a communication environment that helps them to live their life independently and according to their own choices. Bio-metric signal monitoring and the provision of the commonly used ways of interaction helps them to organize their own way of life whilst being confident not being left alone in exceptional and emergency cases.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. A fuel cell (FC) generator has been chosen to represent a generation technology of relatively high efficiency, low environmental impact and good dynamic response during disturbances. Several operational modes of a fuel-cell generator corresponding to different control strategies of its inverter interface are investigated. The new control scheme of a power conditioning unit (PCU) is proposed and its performance tested with respect to network security and stability.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. Along with contiguous trajectory sequences, adaptive tool path planning introduces partially discontinuous tool trajectories. Algorithm achieves the necessary trajectory continuity by the insertion of the auxiliary tool-orientation trajectories. The tool passes over the path gaps are accomplished through rapid tool traverses. The evaluation of surface machining optimization is provided by simulation of computed tool motion trajectories applied to triangulation models. Tool tracks and tool trajectories obtained with different surface models are used for presentation and examination of the optimized tool path modeling and algorithm computing performance issues.","PeriodicalId":164818,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat.
