In this paper, we propose and theoretically analyze a multiplexed biosensor based on surface corrugated Bragg gratings on a Rib waveguide structure using Transfer Matrix method. The Rib waveguide was designed with single mode operating condition at the wavelength of 1550 nm. The effective index is calculated numerically using the Effective Index method and has been verified using Mode Analysis in COMSOL Multiphysics. Highest sensitivity of 44 nm/RIU has been recorded for the design with the smallest dimensions. This design has been further used in the multiplexed biosensing structure by utilizing a cascaded configuration of gratings with two different grating pitches to achieve two distinct Bragg reflection peaks. The sensitivity for the two gratings is calculated to be 44 nm/RIU and 48 nm/RIU. The proposed sensor provides a good sensitivity along with multiplexed sensing and is a viable option when fabrication of smaller dimension sensors is not feasible.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124904003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Existing perception systems use various sensors to localize and track the surrounding obstacles, but have some limitations. Most existing end-to-end autonomous systems are computationally heavy as they are built on multiple deep networks that are trained to detect and localize objects, thus requiring custom, high-end computation devices with high compute power. To address this issue, we propose and experiment with different semantic segmentation-based models for Birds Eye View (BEV) detection and localization of surrounding objects like vehicles and pedestrians from LiDAR (light detection, and ranging) point clouds. Voxelisation techniques are used to transform 3D LiDAR point clouds to 2D RGB images. The semantic segmentation models are trained from the ground up on the Lyft Level 5 dataset. During experimental evaluation, the proposed approach achieved a mean average precision score of 0.044 for UNET, 0.041 for SegNet and 0.033 for FCN, while being significantly less compute-intensive when compared to the state-of-the-art approaches.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125049292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we implemented different architectural models like AlexNet, VGG16, ResNe50, InceptionV3,Xception to classify and predict the Redshift(z) values of unlabeled galaxy images taken from the EFIGI catalog and galaxy-zoo image dataset from the Kaggle website. In addition to these pre-built architectural models, we have introduced a novel, customized CNN classifier and Redshift(z) predictor models to study the behavior of CNN layers and to achieve reasonable accuracy by fine-tuning hyperparameters. Our customized CNN Classifier model achieved a considerably good accuracy of 92.3% with 87.3% validation loss in galaxy classification. Whereas in Redshift(z) prediction, our novel CNN Redshift(z) predictor model achieved a very low loss of 0.000158 when compared to other pre-built architectures.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125288735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The SIM cards could belong to same or different network service provider. Generally, MSMS UEs are built with single Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit (RFIC), time shared between activities of protocol stacks. Based on user preference, one of the SIMs associates with Internet service and enters Packet Switching (PS) Connected mode, while the other SIM(s) are in idle mode monitoring paging channel. Due to limitation of single RFIC, active PS connection has to be intermittently paused to grant idle mode stack(s) to utilize RFIC for monitoring its paging channel or to perform high priority activity. This intermittent pause on PS connection is referred as blackouts. Blackouts results in degradation of throughput performance and wastage of network's Physical Channel Resources (PCR). In the UEs available in market, MSMS capability is implemented without any protocol between UE and Network to manage blackouts, as there are no 3GPP standards for them yet. This makes UE specific implementation inefficient. In this paper, we propose a novel network architecture and underlying protocol to improve the throughput performance of MSMS UEs and reduce network's PCR wastage. In the proposed network architecture, a novel entity called Access Network Coordinator (ANC) is introduced to inter-connect network operators and exchange information to achieve coordination for paging and signaling procedures in MSMS UEs. This reduces blackout duration in PS connected protocol stack and inherently improves throughput performance of MSMS UEs. Since the ongoing activity on other SIM(s) is known to network, it shall refrain from scheduling resources during this period to avoid resource wastage. The analysis and simulation provided reveals ∼49% reduction in blackout duration and up to 84% improvement in throughput on PS activity with the solution proposed, in comparison with existing solutions for Triple SIM Triple Standby (TSTS) UEs.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129361940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Radar emitters transmit short radio frequency (RF) bursts, known as pulse trains, at specific operating parameters. Radar pulse train information is often stored in a list, known as a pulse descriptor word (PDW), and can be used to identify specific radar emitters. An RWR's primary function is to identify unknown radar signals and produce a PDW used to classify and sort signals for further processing, display, and countermeasures. This paper presents a multi-processor system-on-chip field-programable gate array (MPSoC FPGA)-based hardware implementation of an RWR system including deinterleaving algorithms and details the implementation environment, including hardware acceleration performance analysis.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"31 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129655950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Estimation of State-of-Charge (SOC), an indicator of available charge in a battery, is vital to determine available operational time of the device. SOC is crucial to estimate the available range in an electric vehicle. Most calculations involving batteries use an equivalent circuit lumped model for calculation purposes, these models are inaccurate as they do not capture the complete electrochemical dynamics of the cell. In this paper we employ Single Particle Model which considers electrolyte behaviour while estimating equivalent circuit parameters. The proposed approach improves SOC estimation accuracy while reducing computational complexity. The electrochemical model used in this approach takes into account two spherically symmetric diffusion equations: one within a representative negative particle ($mathrm{k}=mathrm{n}$) and one within a representative positive particle ($mathrm{k}=mathrm{p}$) including electrolyte equations.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129665700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Limited channel and reduced rank STAP techniques are alternatively proposed in the literature to address the computational issues present in fully adaptive STAP. This paper investigates performance of two channel ΣΔ (SigmaDelta)-STAP for detecting multiple targets in Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI) scenario in the presence of clutter. Clutter is simulated from an airborne platform operating at 10 GHz and a pulse repetition frequency of 5 kHz. First, a single ground moving target is detected effectively using the Σ Δ-STAP. Further, this algorithm is applied to detect two targets moving with 7.5 m/s and 15 m/s velocities. Intelligent-RFID Technology in libraries helps us to analyze and predict the demand of books, books that are less utilized, count of books issued in each department, fine calculation, book enquiry, percentage ratio of total number of books in the library to total books issued, thus imparting intelligence to libraries. The process of automating the library tasks addresses the issues relating to book-searching, and tracking, thereby ensuring the safety and security of library materials. This paper proposes an Intelligent and Automated RFID based library management system along with user interface for different types that enables the quick flow of books. A PyQt web portal is designed for creating user interface to perform the desired library tasks and predictive analysis. In addition, data processing is performed to analyze various parameters required to produce statistical analysis on extensively used or less used books, which helps us to protect or discard the books from time to time and prevent the library assets from termite attacks. To achieve this, we share a systematic and pragmatic approach within system engineering framework that addresses the outcomes of some of the most critical transversal disciplines mainly, safety, reliability and availability as the pedigree of Good IDEA[1]. We discuss certain techniques of functional analysis that automatically shift the focus to satisfy the objectives of Design for Testability (DfT). These include the ability to detect and report that a function is no longer available or responding as it should; And the ability to localize the faulty component causing the function deemed unavailable. Case studies are presented through which it is shown that diagnostics built around a context of functional failure not only helps in satisfying the objectives of testability, but it also rewards by enabling Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), perform big data analytics to support various use cases and different stakeholder needs. One of the most critical steps involving transmission of onboard data from locomotive to ground on the near real-time basis is highlighted as a typical use case of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication supporting remote monitoring.","PeriodicalId":164499,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116122736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
