Since 2014, after the Euromaidan and its demands for Europeanization of the country, the EU and other international donors are assisting Ukraine in its modernization efforts. The spread of violent military conflict in Eastern Ukraine required multilateral engagement of strategic partners in transformation of security and defence sectors, as well as active participation in conflict management in the Eastern part of the country. EU was taking part in various initiatives offered by member states, the Community itself, and Ukraine. The article questions whether those instruments, which constitute the essence of CSDP, have been utilized, and how beneficial those efforts were for Ukraine. The article also explores what improvements in the implementation of CSDP could enhance transformation of security sector in Ukraine and what are the main communication channels used to explain the reforms. Cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union was considered in a historical aspect. The authors emphasize that the first mechanisms for cooperation with the former Soviet Union republics were proposed by the European Union in 1994. These are the TACIS (Technical Assistance to the Commonwealth of Independent States) and the TEMPUS (Trans-European Mobility Programme for University Studies) programmes that Ukraine has used in part. Ukraine’s cooperation with the EU within the framework of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine, the aim of which was facilitating the transformation of the civil security sector, was also considered. The article gives an overview of the tools that the European Union has at its disposal to work with other countries in the civil security sector. The results of the work of the EU in Ukraine after 2014, when the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine was launched, are analyzed. A list of issues to consider in the future is given.

At the present stage, non-formal education is aimed at the education and training of students, organized outside the curriculum. Non-formal education provides ample opportunity to deepen professional competencies through innovative approaches. Festivals can take particular responsibility in presenting and promoting themselves as an informal way of educating students who have chosen journalism as a field of activity and future employment. Festival activity today is one of the means of gaining practical experience for students, but among the scientific community it is considered in particular as an art direction and has not been covered in the educational aspect. Participation of students in organizational work on the project allows to improve skills, deepen knowledge and professional professional competences, such as planning and organizing team activities, problem solving, generating new ideas and more. The lack of research on this issue in the scientific literature, the need for professional competent specialists in the journalistic field of activity, the lack of a clear step-by-step model of organizational process construction led to the need to explore festival activity not as an art direction, but as a form of non-formal education.\u0000The purpose of the work is to explore festival activities as a form of non-formal education for students of journalistic specialties. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is the analysis of the festival activities as non-formal education of students. On the basis of the analyzed projects, an effective model of organizing student festivals was developed. As a result of the research, the theory was first refined – the concept of festival activity as a form of non-formal education of students was analyzed and formulated. Methods of interaction between formal and non-formal education of journalism students were proposed.

Free exchange of information, constructive professional discussion facilitates the exchange of experience in solving complex professional problems, improving the quality of education, the use of scientific achievements in the field of publishing. Purpose: To identify practical ways of professional communication as a result of the work of the roundtable «Publishing: Challenges of Modernity». The aim is to outline the practical ways of professional communication as a result of the roundtable; to find out the scientific and practical results of the roundtable work for each group of subjects of communication. The main task is to hear the professional queries of the publishing industry and take them into account when preparing students. The roundtable assumed that modern publishing houses require professionals who can provide effective communications to create a brand for the publisher, promote and promote novelties of booksellers, beginner authors and the like. Professional communication requires effective and efficient interaction with the scientific community. The roundtable became an effective channel of communication, precisely because it created the conditions for the exchange of information between scientists and practitioners, demonstrated a high commitment of experts in the scientific research including investigation and forecasting of the most sophisticated state of the publishing industry.

It was put to the competition by the publishers and presented in the electronic library of the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education (four textbooks «I am exploring the world», three textbooks in art, two electronic and one electronic textbook, textbook «Ukrainian Language. ABC Book. Parts 1 and 2») two models of the editorial and publishing preparation of projects of multimedia interactive electronic textbooks are defined and described. The first is «outsourcing model» which means involvement a technology company or multimedia publishing house in the creating of electronic textbooks. The second is «standalone model» which means independent creation of multimedia electronic textbooks by specialists of traditional publishing who use the specialized third-party software. It’s concluded that the market for interactive multimedia electronic textbooks can develop in several directions: more publishers of printed textbooks enter the market (in case if technological platforms that are available for Ukrainian publishers on the criterion «price – quality» and software for interactive programming will be provided) or filling of the niche of this market by tech companies and digital multimedia publishers (the main example is multimedia publishing house «Розумники» («A Clever Ones»)).

An assessment of the newest field of social communication, such as digital humanities. The purpose of the article is to evaluate modern search engines as a means of obtaining scientific information, social communication of scientists, to review and evaluate the latest means of search engine optimization. The object of the study is Internet communication. The subject of research is search engines and databases of scientific information.\u0000Nowadays search engines, as a means of finding information, have now become an important element of social communication for scientists in the world. Thematic search engines, databases of scientific articles, and thematic repositories play an important role in storing information and providing information on both scientific articles and scientists in general. Global developments are currently not far behind and domestic developments are among them. The following search engines are considered: Google Scholar, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), PubMed, JSTOR, Web of Science, Science. gov, CiteSeerx, Scopus, Prometheus, Open Ukrainian Citation Index (OUCI), Philosophy Documentation Center, Publons. The Ukrainian public project of mass open online courses Prometheus and the National Repository of Academic Texts deserve special attention.\u0000In addition, the relevance of search results remains an important issue for the search for information and social communication for scientists. The most important algorithms used by search engines today, as well as promising directions for the future are considered. In this aspect, digital humanities, which integrate the methodologies of traditional humanities (history, philosophy, linguistics, literature, art, archeology, music, etc.) with computer sciences, are beginning to play an important role today.
