Political Biography\", translated into Ukrainian from the Polish edition, published in Warsaw in 2011. J. Durka is a Doctor of Historical Sciences and researcher at the Kalisz Academy President Stanislaw Wojciechowski, an author of numerous publications related to the Radziwiłł family. The book describes the political biography of one of the brightest figures of Polish conservatism, Prince Janusz Radziwiłł, a parliamentarian of the Second Polish Republic [II Rzeczpospolita], an aristocrat, a person whose life absorbed all the significant events of the social and political life of Europe at the end of the 19th century – the 1960s. The monograph uses a vast source base, which includes documents from the Central Archives of Modern Records, the Central Archives of Historical Records, and the Central Military Archive (Warsaw), state voivodeship archives, in particular, Częstochowa, Kalisz, Katowice, Kraków, the Ossolinski National Institute in Wrocław, etc. The research examines publications from interwar periodicals, oral testimonies collected directly by the author, memoirs, published documents, etc. The author of the monograph highlights the traditions of the Radziwiłł family, the formation of Janusz Radziwiłł’s worldview and his political career, paying attention to his activities during the First World War, focusing on Janusz Radziwiłł's public and charitable activities in interwar Poland, the life of the last owner of the town of Olyka during the Second World War. One of the chapters draws attention to the final period of the life and activity of Janusz Radziwiłł, which he spent under the supervision of the special services of the Polish People’s Republic, practically outside of politics. The main directions of the development of this topic are highlighted, the methodology is clarified, and further prospects for the study of the topic are outlined. Research methodology. The monographic publications subject to analysis were published after 2010, which ensured novelty and made it possible to trace the latest trends and research directions of Ukrainian early modern society. When studying them, the main attention was focused on the topic, the structure of research and the search methods used in it. The reviewed editions were divided into groups depending on the subject covered in them. A comparison of the concepts of functioning of early modern society proposed by domestic authors with those that function in Western historiography is carried out. Scientific novelty. It has been established that the main areas of study of the Hetman region's society are: social phenomena and processes among the urban and rural population, analysis of age, professional, status groups, peculiarities of the functioning of social institutions, and the specifics of the perception of certain phenomena by the contemporary society. An overview of the methods used in the works makes it possible to state that a significant number of scientists approach the study of society from a historical-demographic perspective, widely using quantitative methods to demonstrate the situation that has developed in society and show the main trends of its development. At the same time, under the influence of the Western trend of \"cultural history of the social\", considerable attention is paid in the reviewed studies to the mutual influence of social and cultural factors. Conclusions. It is noted that the society of the Hetmanate of the 18th century needs further study. In particular, certain social groups remain poorly researched from the point of view of historical demography. This makes it difficult to write comprehensive works on the social history of the Hetmanate. Noting the importance of works on the study of childhood or death in early modern Ukraine, we note that many age, gender, physiological, and cultural phenomena of social life remain unexplored.","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":" March","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139137164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, systematicity, objectivity, as well as the frontal-heuristic method of processing press publications and methods of internal criticism of historical sources. The scientific novelty is that for the first time the public life of the Ukrainian population of the Drohobych District of the Western Ukrainian People's Republic has been revealed. Conclusions. The newspaper «Drohobych Leaf» contains rich, sometimes unique information about the events in Drohobych District during the years of the construction of Ukrainian statehood. It is from her that we learn about the activities of public organizations in the Drohobych District: «Prosvita», «Silskyi Hospodar», «Women's Community», «Society for the Guardianship of the Ukrainian Soldier», «General Trade Workers’ Union» and others. These Ukrainian organizations supported state authorities and closely cooperated with them. Leading figures of Ukrainian public organizations (Hryhoriy Kuziv, Volodymyr Dydynskyi, Rudolph Skibinskyi, Ivan Lishchynskyi, etc.) were members of various levels of government. Therefore, a certain synergy was formed in the activities of the Ukrainian authorities and the public, which was caused, on the one hand, by the need of the authorities to rely on the Ukrainian public (especially in Drohobych and Boryslav, where a significant percentage of the population consisted of Poles and Jews), on the other hand, by the natural process of attracting active personnel from public organizations to government institutions, especially at the initial stage of state building. Unfortunately, the newspaper «Drohobych Leaf» does not have information about other public organizations of the county, the existence of which we learn from other sources (for example, about the local branch of the Society «Mutual Help of Galician and Bukovyna Teachers»).","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":"4 16","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139148202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology of the research lies in conducting content-analysis of Andrej Duda’s Facebook page concerning the information related to the Russian-Ukrainian war and correlating it with the image of Andrzej Duda as well as with the overall image of Poland on the international arena before and during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. The scientific novelty lies in conducting the analysis of posts on Andrzej Duda’s official Facebook page to study whether they contain information on Ukraine and Western partners of the anti-Russian coalition as well as correlating them with the image of Andrzej Duda and the overall image of Poland on the international arena before and after the full-scale invasion of the Russian troops into Ukraine. The article studies as the team of President of Poland Andrzej Duda extensively used Facebook social network to achieve the set political and electoral goals, focusing both on the internal and external audience. Conclusions. Content analysis of President of Poland Andrzej Duda’s Facebook page has shown that during full-scale invasion of the Russian troops into Ukraine the Presidents’ team continued to actively exploit this resource as an important channel for internal political communication as well as for establishing relations with foreign partners. The study observes a priority shift from cohesion of internal traditionalist catholic electorate to shaping an international anti-Russian coalition. Looking at short-term consequences of this priority shift, it may be considered negative for “Law and Justice” as Andrej Duda’s party has lost at the Parliamentary elections in autumn 2023. However, when analyzing the situation from the perspective of Polish state interests, protection of democracy, European security and sustainability of Western civilization, Andrzej Duda achieved positive results in his international activities.","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":"138 11‐12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139149385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hrushevsky at Lviv University based on the analysis of the department’s catalogues, namely to clarify its quantitative parameters, ethnic composition and didactic preferences. The research methodology relies on the use of an interdisciplinary approach. Based on the principles of objectivity and historicism, the research has d the structural-functional systematic analysis of historiographical facts and the comparative-historical method. The article has used the heuristic possibilities of periodisation, classification and typology methods. The scientific novelty of the study is the first special attempt at a comprehensive reconstruction of the female student auditorium of M. Hrushevsky at Lviv University. Conclusions. Studying the department’s catalogues proved that they are the most solid source for studying many little-known aspects of Hrushevsky's work as a teacher at Lviv University. The importance of this type of university document circulation lies in its massive and formalised nature. Therefore, the diverse information obtained from the catalogues provides answers to a wide range of questions, the discussion of which was dominated by the emotionally clouded memoir tradition for a long time. Thus, it was possible to reconstruct the female student audience of M. Hrushevsky, namely to find out its ethnic characteristics, quantitative parameters, the attendance frequency of various educational subjects, etc. It should be noted that female students had different motivations when signing up for M. Hrushevsky's courses. In the case of Ukrainian women, the desire to gain deep knowledge of their native past dominated, which they later used in pedagogical and public work. Students of non-Ukrainian origin to attend M. Hrushevsky's courses were prompted by general educational interest in the history and culture of the neighbouring people, which at that time clearly articulated its right to exist. Most of the female students of the scientist became prominent cultural activists and scientists in the first half of the 20th century. They popularised or transformed the historical knowledge acquired during the university years, thereby confirming the historiographical concept of M. Hrushevsky in the intellectual culture of Central-Eastern Europe of the 20th century.","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":"8 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139157078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research methodology is based on the fundamental principles of historical research: historicism, consistency, objectivity in the selection of facts and documents. Among the special methods used in the study should be called problem-chronological, historical-systemic, historical-typological. The scientific novelty of the article is to reveal the features of state policy and the activities of state authorities to overcome the unemployment of employees through the system of compulsory state social insurance. Conclusions. Having finally seized power in Ukraine, the Bolshevik leadership publicly declared the need to create an effective system of social support for especially vulnerable segments of the population. Of course, declarative slogans did not reflect real intentions and opportunities. Under the conditions of a debilitating civil war and economic devastation, it was quite natural to see a massive increase in the number of unemployed and a drop in the living standards of the population. This was especially exacerbated with the transition to a new economic policy. In the early 1920s a number of legislative initiatives were adopted to mitigate the unemployment situation. It was about the introduction of compulsory unemployment insurance at the state level. Insurance premiums paid by employers and employees were to become the financial basis for the payment of benefits to the unemployed. The implementation of this state policy on the ground relied on labor exchanges. However, excessive bureaucracy and a limited number of such institutions could not sufficiently solve this problem. The lack of funds for material support of the population was particularly acute, so the government was forced to look for alternative options: public works, in-kind assistance or the provision of various benefits. Active industrial construction, which began at the end of the 1920s, led to an increase in the demand for labor. In such conditions, the Party-Soviet leadership took a course to eliminate unemployment by administrative means, not recognizing as unemployed those workers who refused the job offered to them.","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":"15 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139156583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The set of tasks is outlined by the questions about the explanatory schemes used by the \"fugitives\", as well as the study of the reaction of state authorities and repressive organs to fugitive practices. The research methodology is based on a combination of interdisciplinary methods, including critical discourse analysis, narrative analysis, historical-comparative and historical-systemic methods. The scientific novelty of the study is that the defections and non-returns of the perestroika period have never been considered as a social phenomenon and social practices, as they were not scenarios through which the path of reforms was paved. Conclusions. The defections continued to be a channel of emigration throughout the period of so-called perestroika. These were planned actions included both in the practices of legal border crossing and in criminal practices related to the hijacking of aircraft. People of different ages, nationalities, professions, places of residence, and family status have resorted to defection. A common feature of their behaviour was a deep distrust of the authorities, such that they did not perceive any changes and reforms as possible or real.The explanatory schemes used by the fugitives depended on whether the attempt at illegal emigration was successful or unsuccessful. During the period under study, the KGB's rhetoric and practice of preventing defections from the Ukrainian SSR changed significantly. If at the beginning of perestroika, information on defectors submitted to the Central Committee of the CP(U) ended with a promise to make efforts to return them to their homeland, at the end of the period, they were reported as \"working to clarify the circumstances and motives.\" Another sign of the times was the fact that the image of a defector began to be formed not according to the templates of an \"enemy of the people\", \"traitor - member of a spy network\", but according to formulas for devaluing the social importance of the offender. Fugitives were described in both official reports and the press as petty criminals, fraudsters, alcoholics, and people with mental disorders.","PeriodicalId":163448,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University Series History","volume":"31 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139156958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
