Nutrition and taste of seafood are directly proportional to its freshness. After seafood spoil, the anaerobic metabolism will produce ammonia compounds. In this article, the senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.) extract is used to monitor shrimp freshness. Senduduk has flavonoid compounds in high amount, and it can change its color due to the presence of ammonia. A green indicator is made on Whatman paper immersed in senduduk extract and dried at room temperature. The experiment on ammonia solutions shows that the indicator effectively changes color from red, purple, and gray as an indication of the increase of ammonia gas received by the indicator. The indicator also showed consistent color changes for shrimp tests. To observe the quantitative color change, we compute the color intensity based on the image processing method using ImageJ software. One way to increase the optimum growth and production of sorghum on post-tin mining land can be done by ameliorant addition. The objective of the study was to increase the optimum growth and production of sorghum in post-tin mining land. The experiment had been conducted in post-tin mining area located in Dwi Makmur Village, Merawang, Bangka, from November 2017 May 2018. The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 1 (one) single factor as follows: Control (C0), NPK (C1), 40 gram phosphate solubilizing fungi (C2), SP36 100 kg ha -1 (C3), SP36 200 kg ha -1 (C4). The results showed that the application of 40 grams phosphate solubilizingfungi (C2) had the highest value on the dissolved solid total (° Brix). Complete NPK fertilizer (C1) has the highest root growth when its compared to other treatments. This indicates that full NPK fertilizer (C1) are able to increase the production of seeds/plant and harvest index (%). However, the understanding about interactions of several elements in archipelago development has to encompass broader context, including marine space and the others island which create a spatial system called urban island concept. The formation process of an urban island, comprising “strongly urbanized small islands or archipelagos” or “major population centers of large islands or archipelagos” are also essential issues that have not been fully explored. The issues of urban islands have become the concern of island researchers, such as in Copenhagen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Lagos, Macau, Mexico, Mumbai, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Zhoushan. Indonesia which has more than 17.500 islands, also allows the formation of urban islands that need further exploration. Therefore, this paper discusses the formation process of the island city in Ambon City-Maluku Province, as a province area with a long history of island development. This paper will conduct a profound literature review as an attempt to build a theoretical framework of research in the study area. According to the preliminary study from island spatial perspectives consisting of territorial, defense and transportation benefits, Ambon is included in the category of urban islands that serves authority and trading as the main functions. This study will identify opportunities and challenges that have been encountered by Ambon City and its surrounding areas in the perspective of urban island concept focusing on connectivity between spatial functions as the primary factor. The result and conclusion of this study can give contribution in developing a robust theoretical framework of comprehensive research in urban island concept for Ambon City and other urban islands in Indonesia. In the process of processing tin produces a monasite waste in which monasite minerals contain rare earth metals. One application of rare earth elements is as a candidate for RE-Fe-B based magnetic material. In this study, we investigated the magnetic properties of Ce14Fe80B6 thin layer based on magnetic moment configuration. Changes in magnetic moment configuration occur due to the presence of an external magnetic field applied to a thin layer of Ce14Fe80B6. Providing an external magnetic field also results in saturation and energy changes in the system. The strength and weak magnetic properties possessed by the Ce14Fe80B6 thin film can be clearly drawn through the loop hysteresis curve.","PeriodicalId":162573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Maritime and Archipelago (ICoMA 2018)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131323296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Women as laborers not only devote their time to taking care of the household but also to work. This study aims to analyze the outpouring of women's working hours as an economic stabilization effort for the family of Pepper Farmers in Delas Village, Air Gegas District, South Bangka Regency. It was observed that there was no influence on age, family income, and the number of family dependents on working hours and how they affected the family's economy. Data analysis methods used in this study are multiple linear regression models or OLS. In this study, the sample used was 60 female farmers. The sampling of farmers was carried out by simple random sampling (simple random sampling). The results of the data analysis showed that the variable unit (X1) had a positive and significant effect on the outpouring of women's work time while the Family Revenue (X2) and Dependent Amount (X3) variables had a positive but insignificant effect on the working hours of the rubber farmers in Dari Village. The results of this study also show that female pepper farmers have a small contribution to the family's economy because the nature of their work as a form of additional income is not for main income.","PeriodicalId":162573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Maritime and Archipelago (ICoMA 2018)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114945543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Improved availability of a locally generated and cost-efficient energy source is much needed to boost the local economy. Electricity use and access to fuel drives the main, local industry of fishing. They are vital in powering boats for the fishing process, as well as processing and cold storage and remain the key component in the success of local businesses. Providing a photo-voltaic energy source, both on-board the boats and on shore, would give the local industries a substantial boost, with the knock-on effects being felt throughout the surrounding communities. Furthermore, this innovative and integrated approach; utilizing ‘green boats’ at sea in collaboration with a ‘green village’ on land, could become a focus in the emerging and quicklygrowing industry of ecotourism – bringing further revenue into the community. The Energy Self-sufficient Village (ESSV) Program, aims to meet at least 60% of these total energy needs, (electricity and fuel), by harnessing local resources, as well as boosting the production capability of the village economy, through offering an available, sustainable, local energy source.
