The Bangladeshi transportation industry is paying attention to the alternatives of internal combustion engines (ICEs) while keeping in mind the value of renewable resources and the drawbacks of vehicles on emissions. This study aims to show the economic viability of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) on Bangladeshi roadways. The total cost ownership model has been devised to evaluate its viability. Based on comparable marketplaces, all required characteristics are taken into account. Comparisons with conventional vehicles have been made to understand the findings better. The findings of the study indicate that FCEVs are currently not cost-competitive with conventional automobiles. According to the study, the cost of acquiring these vehicles and the fuel price are the main contributors to this. FCEVs might not be the best alternative to conventional choices at this time for Bangladesh, but future policy reforms could make them efficient and affordable.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121825616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This conventional charging system cannot regulate output voltage or current due to the lack of any feedback or sensing. Batteries charge inconsistency due to lack of control circuitry, resulting in overcharging, overheating, and, most significantly, energy waste and accelerated battery life degeneration over time. This paper presents the design, development, and transient response with performance analysis of a charging system based on high-frequency H-bridge DC-DC converter. The designed system has digital closed-loop control for individual regulation of output current & voltage while being small and lightweight. The charger allows batteries to be efficiently charged at preset voltage & current values depending on desired charging profile based on battery chemistry and SOC. A hardware prototype of 60V, 1.2kW is created for performance analysis and evaluation.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129490658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focuses on extracting clean electrical energy from an open-source, i.e., unoccupied land areas of an electrical utility called substation through analytical approach. The optimally sized PV is installed on those lands to harness electrical energy for further use. It provides significant energy support to the substation and its nearby consumers with better efficiency. This paper encourages increasing this type of solar installation in large numbers of national grid substations to reduce the country's overall electricity demand and shift dependency on traditional fossil fuel-generated electricity.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123479486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been used in this work to assess the wind speed data from NASA meteorological site. Calculations have been made using the Moments of Method (MOM), the Empirical Method (EM), and the Power Density Method (PDM), to determine the Weibull Factors of the provided data with the goal of evaluating the wind energy potential. This paper shows the comparison among the three approaches to k/c ratios. The MOM technique was determined to be the most efficient way for estimating Weibull parameters out of the three investigated methods. Finally, a horizontal axis wind turbine model specification has been suggested based on the available data analysis.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129077187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the Energy Pattern Factor (EPF) approach, the possible wind power density of any location can be estimated, which requires less calculation and takes wind speed fluctuations into consideration. At first, the most potential wind sites have been identified by assessing the average wind speed data of last five years (2017–2021). After that, the most promising wind sites monthly Energy Pattern Factor (EPF) was computed using the 12-month average wind speed. Finally, by estimating wind power density, the site's entire wind energy situation has been examined. According to the findings, Sandwip has been recognized as the most promising site with the greatest average wind speed over the past five years, at $4.984 m/s$. Additionally, with values of $244.28 w/m^{2}$ and $24.86 w/m^{2}$ respectively, July and February were the months with the highest and lowest power densities.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114468135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To tackle situations with an extreme energy crisis, a direct load control (DLC) based scheduling strategy can be employed instead of an area-wise hourly load-shedding approach. By controlling the AC loads in a supervised manner, the peak demand can be reduced and a good amount of energy can be saved. In this paper, an AC switching model is presented where an hour is divided among all the ACs in a building equally. The model generates a profile for all ACs which is used for switching. To cut a specific amount of demand each AC should get a reduced number of minutes of runtime. The developed model is simulated considering 30 ACs and the accomplishment of the load cut goal is verified with DLC requirements ranging from 0 to 51 kW. The results exhibit the novelty of the proposed model in peak demand reduction and energy saving.","PeriodicalId":162510,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Energy and Power Engineering (ICEPE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115942398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To implement the proposed system, a prototype was developed using an IOT based microcontroller ESP-32. Necessary data i.e. power generation and then consumption by loads are collected using different sensors. Then the system sends the required notifications to the users on their mobile phones using the Blynk app even though they are not at home.
