Most of the treatment approaches have been based on the fundamental biological mechanisms involved in the growth and development of craniofacial bones and teeth. The exact mechanism which controls cranio facial growth has been a matter of debate and research for years together. The concept that “forms follow function” was first proposed by Vander Klaaw. Functional matrix hypothesis (F.M.H.) is actually an extension of this concept given by Moss. F.M.H. includes a functional matrix and skeletal units. Capsule is an envelope that contains functional cranial components sandwiched between the covering layers. It acts indirectly and passively and not by resorption or deposition. Functional matrix cranial analysis can be done in the maxilla and mandible. There are some limitations in F.M.H., so F.M.H. revisited is explained later which include 4 theories in it.Genomic and epi-genetic processes are examples of totally different types of causation- Genomic- formal cause and Epigenetic- efficient cause. Individually both are necessary causes, but neither are sufficient causes alone. They provide both the necessary and sufficient causes for the control of morphogenesis.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128400582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the battle to fight against diseases, stem cells present potencies to repair tissues by cell therapy and tissue regeneration. The study of stem cells turns to be a major frontier in 21th century biology and medicine. Recently, dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) and stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs) have been isolated from dental pulp tissue of adult permanent teeth and deciduous teeth, respectively. The present article highlights the origin and class-ification of stem cells with their applications in the field of medicine and dentistry. Despite promising scientific results with genetically modified stem cells, some major problems remain to be overcome. Strategies that combine gene targeting with embryonic stem cellbased therapy are thus potential novel therapeutic options. Further research is essential to determine the full potential of both adult and embryonic stem cells in this exciting new field.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116162409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the effect of miR-21 in BCa fluctuated in the further confirmation demonstrating single miRNA still lacks the stability. miRNA panel contribute to a better risk stratification and prognostic prediction which could compensate for the unreliability of individual miRNAs in estimating prognosis. However, larger studies with a standardized methodology that assess both single and multiple miRNAs will offer better insight into the prognostic value of miRNAs in urologic cancer. miRNAs’ main function is to inhibit protein synthesis of protein coding genes, either by inhibition of translation or mRNA degradation. However, the relative contribution of each mechanism to repression was unknown until recently. Besides mRNAs repression, miRNAs have been also reported to activate translation of targeted mRNAs. With the advances in molecular biology, efforts are being made to identify sensitive and specific miRNAs for early diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of various urological malignancies. This research can pave the way for improved lifespan and Quality of life of the patients with cancer.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127994393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent preclinical research, artemisinins also exert an anticancer potency via induction of programmed cell death and inhibition of cell growth. Artemisinins can be activated by heme to form Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), which damage lipids or activate mitochondria-mediated pathway to induce caspase cascades. Artemisinins also get involved in the regulation of protein and gene expression to inhibit the VEGF signaling pathway that is responsible for cell growth and survival. In this review, we focus on current knowledge of the modulation of some detailed pathways that induce apoptosis and inhibit cell growth, including iron-dependent pathway, mitochondrial-mediated pathway, and VEGF signaling pathway. We also collect up-to-date researches to support their efficacy. With future research and clinical investigation on artemisinins, more detailed molecular mechanisms and anticancer effects will be identified and confirmed.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":" 22","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113949391","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies have compared traditional Chinese medicine, Western and Western combined. Such three forms of treatment were not analyzed simultaneously. Aim: The research examines the differences between populations and medical applications of allergic rhinitis patients who received all three treatments to determine the use of different drugs. Methods: The inventory for patients diagnosed with allergic rhinitis (International Disease Classification). The Chi-square test and Tukey test were performed for the region of interest to check the disparity between these three treatments (a significant difference still exists). Results: The interview rate for women with allergic rhinitis is higher than for men regardless of whether it is treatment with traditional Chinese medicine, Western or combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Persons 0-19 years of age was first in the proportion of allergic rhinitis diagnosis and care. Traditional Chinese medicine includes medical measures with maximum hours per person, the daily cost per hour of medicines and minimum overall hourly expenditure. Western medicine, by comparison, costs the lowest daily drug per hour, and the highest total drug costs per hour per person. Between traditional Chinese and western medicine, the total cost per capita of integrated traditional Chinese and Western Medicine as well as drug costs per capita and the total cost per capita. Conclusion: Although only 6.82% of allergic rhinitis patients opt for combined traditional Chinese medicines and western medicine, their rate of receipt is higher each year. Tongue has unique features of its shape, size as well as has sexual dimorphism. No two individuals have same features of tongue not even identical twins! This idea prompted to consider tongue prints as an innovative and new research tool in forensic sciences for individual identification. Along with other biometric identification tools used in forensic sciences, tongue prints are also playing an important role and a promising tool in human identification. This is a small review illustrating the importance of tongue prints in identification.The main basic threat to Indian society is identification fraud. Innovative and efficient identification systems are an urgent need to combat this social issue. In India, this system of identification is still in the grassroot level and needs more efficient ways of research and planning to implement the same. Studies have found it to be beneficial and comparable to other biometric tools. So research on the potential of tongue prints as a forensic tool iswarranted.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124240302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The largest victims of the epidemic, representing 95% of the world's overall HIV transmission, are adults in developed countries. Objectives: Dentists and nurses taking charge of these patients should have ample awareness of the disease as a consequence of a growing number of HIV/AIDS patients and their conduct and actions should be satisfactory. Our research attempted to determine the awareness levels of dental students including UG-PG and nursing students concerning HIV/AIDS and to study attitudes and actions and information gaps between dental and nursing students. The research involved dental and nursing students from our university. Methods:- A questionnaire was given to a total of 300 applicants, 150 dental graduates, 150 nursing graduates and all of them accessed. Results:- According to ninety-eight point-six AIDS were CD4-T lymphocytes. Sixty percent (60 percent) of dental students claimed that both care and treatment for AIDS were present. Thirty percent (30 percent) of dental students believed that AIDS care was available, while ten percent (10 percent) of dental students believed that AIDS treatment was present. Fifty percent (50 percent) of nursing students claimed that AIDS are present in both recovery and remedy. In our research, it was observed that HIV/AIDS awareness in developing countries such as India is deficient. Increased knowledge may contribute to a decrease in fear of caring for patients infected with HIV. There are studies measuring HIV/AIDS awareness and attitude among oral health care staff in North India, but so far no such research has been undertaken evaluating the knowledge and attitude of dental and nursing students. Conclusions: For most factors, such as fragile ages, forms of transmission, sexual symptoms and common illness, the research sample was quite satisfactory. But misunderstandings still occurred in both dental and nursing students.","PeriodicalId":162349,"journal":{"name":"Science Progress and Research","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121702860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
