To overcome this poverty, many countries are trying to see what factors cause poverty to occur. This research tries to look at the causes of poverty in terms of education, Human Development Index, Unemployment, Income Inequality, and Labor Force Participation Rate in Districts/Cities of West Sumatra Province from 2011-2019. The research analysis technique uses panel data regression with cross sections of 19 districts and cities and the 2011-2019 time series. Estimation of the relationship using the panel model regression method is the Common Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model and Random Effect Model. Selection of the best model is done by Chow tetst and Hausman tests is the Random Effect Model. Based on the research results, it was found that education and the Human Development Index can significantly reduce poverty and unemployment, and income inequality can significantly increase poverty, as well as the Labor Force Participation Rate. The results of this study provide recommendations to local governments to provide access to higher education and better health for the whole community as well as provide employment and reduce income inequality that occurs.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124467122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The LAPs contain lessons based on the most essential learning competencies (MELCS). The following are provided for in every lesson: learning competencies and objectives, background information for learners, activities, rubric and guide questions (if needed), reflection, assessment, references and answer key. The Research and Development (R & D) method was employed. The following steps were followed: 1) preliminary preparation; 2) detailed writing specifications; 3) writing the LAPs; 4) preparation for the initial draft of the LAPs; 5) validation of the LAPs to panel of experts; 6) revision of the LAPs based from the evaluators’ comments and suggestions; and 7) final production of the LAPs. Data were gathered using two instruments namely: a) survey checklist on the least mastered competencies of Personal Development which served as the basis for the development of learning activity packets (LAPs) in Personal Development; and b) validation scale to determine the validity of the learning activity packets in terms of competencies, content, instructional qualities and assessment. The validity of the LAPs was determined using the weighted mean. The results revealed that the LAPs for teaching Personal Development in senior high school met the requirements for developing instructional materials as manifested by the overall mean of 3.70 with descriptive interpretation as highly valid. The Learning Activity Packets for Personal Development is recommended for use and to further validate and determine its effectiveness, and so that it can be further revised and refined. Similar research is recommended to continue the development of learning activity packets in other grade levels in the Araling Panlipunan curriculum and senior high school subjects.","PeriodicalId":162253,"journal":{"name":"South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122562285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a most effective tool for balancing between shortage of workers at one place and excess population at another area. In the present VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) business environment, Inter-state migration has socio-economic and political consequences in both donor and recipient states. Migrants do not always relocate willingly or voluntarily. Most of the migrations occur for economic reasons. If continuous employment and consistent income is guaranteed to everyone who are willing to work at all states, there is no need to migrate at all. The state of Tamil Nadu has been forerunner for inter-state migration; presently there is huge number of migrants working in the state. Places like Tirupur, Erode, Coimbatore, Chennai, Thiruvallur and Chengalpattu are having huge number in-migrants. While excessive inflow of migrants is economically advantageous to source states, it has mix of benefits and challenges to destination states. Long working hours, payment of low wages (about 70% of what the local workers get), poor living conditions, stagnated garbage and waste water, lack of sanitation facilities makes the lives of the migrants vulnerable. Reverse migration is an act of migrants getting back to home places. In extreme cases, migrants could not tolerate and decide to relocate to their native places. The decision made is not based on luxury or added quality of life at their places, but issues faced is migrated state It is a logical mechanism available to the migrant labourers when the whole economy is severely hit by a thunderstorm like covid-19.Migrants’ lives are badly affected to the standstill business environment which could not provide livelihood, shelter and any other social security this labour force. Migration is a constitutional right stronger implementation of labour and migration laws and More concrete measures to curb exploitation and harassment of in-migrants will only solve challenges in such a sensitive issue.
