Two hundred and one children participated in this research, in which the OHI index for permanent teeth was evaluated in cor- relation with monthly income. For H = 8.19 and p < 0.05 a significant difference was found between plaque index and monthly income. Also, for F = 3.42 and p < 0.05 there is a significant difference between the gingival index value of permanent teeth and monthly income. Procesi zgjedhor u karakterizua me pjesëmarrje të lartë të votuesve (62 %) dhe gjatë tërë procesit zgjedhor, në të gjitha njësitë zgjedhore nuk pati asnjë incident apo ankesë. Kjo dëshmon edhe njëherë për organizim të mirëfillte të pro- cesit zgjedhor. Me datë 7 prill 2023, Kuvendi i Odës së Stomatologëve të Kosovës, pas përfundimit të zgjedhjeve për Kuvendin e saj ka mbajtur seancën konstituive të legjislaturës III. Në këtë seancë, Prof. Dr. Blerim Kamberi u rizgjodh kryetar i OSK-së me mandat 4-vjeçar (2023–2027). Kryetari i sapo zgjedhur falënderoi anëtarët e Kuvendit përzemër- sisht për besimin e treguar, dhe theksoi se detyra e të parit të OSK-së është pozita më e nderuar për të dhe ndjehet i lumtur dhe krenar që sërish do të udhëheq komunitetin e stomatologëve në Kosovë. Nu- merous studies describe a correlation between multiple systemic and local factors and alveolar ridge resorption. This review aims to analyse the available evidence of factors that may affect the residual ridge resorption and the effect of different denture treatments used to reduce the residu- al ridge resorption. Each patient has unique treatment re- quirements considering that the residual ridge resorption has multifactorial etiology. Management of alveolar bone resorption is considered a challenge in prosthodontic treat- ment. The study was conducted at the Prosthodontics Clinic in the Clinical Dental Center of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK). The study included an experi- mental group (EG) and a control group (CG). Samples for cytological analysis were taken from oral mucosa areas in close contact with the denture base from both groups. The samples were analyzed in the pathology laboratory. Statistical data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and values expressed in percentages. A high keratinization index was recorded in the EG, while no keratinization was found in the CG. The picnotic and eosinophilic indexes were either not found at all or were low. Granular debris in 58.0% of the EG had low presence, moderate in 30.0%, and considerable in 8.0%. A low number of granulocytes were found in 68% of the EG, and a moderate presence in 34.0%. In 88% of the CG and 86% of the EG, erythrocytes were not found to be present. A weak presence of bacterial flora was recorded in 64.0% of the CG and 82% of the EG. Epithelial cells were recorded in both CG and EG at 60.0%. Parabasal cells were not found to be present in 96.0% of the CG and 100.0% of the EG. The presence of interstitial cells was significantly present in 100.0% of the CG and 94% of the EG. The wearing of complete dentures manifests with keratinous changes in oral mucosa. A total of 120 pa- tients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and diagnosed chronic periodontitis (CP), where the clinical attachment loss (CAL) is ≥4 mm on at least 50% of the affected teeth, were followed. The patients were 35 – 60 years, distribut- ed in three groups A, B and C, 40 in each group. Group A consisted of patients with T2DM and CHP, where conserva- tive periodontal treatment was carried out, supplemented with laser therapy (i.e. T2DM + CP – SRP and LLLT). Group B, where T2DM and CP were diagnosed, consisted of patients treated only with SRP, without application of laser light without laser therapy (i.e. T2DM+ CP – SRP without LLLT). The group C consisted of patients diagnosed with CP, but without T2DM. In all subjects, the values of triglycerides in blood were determined with standard procedure, and then mathematically calculated. The values of TRG in blood in the group A, and the group C after 6 weeks of therapy are significantly lower than the values at the first examination. In the group B the value of TRG in blood after 6 weeks of therapy is in- significantly lower than the value at the first examination. In the group A, the value of TRG in blood after 3 months of therapy and in the group B is insignificantly lower than the value at the first examination in patients. After 3 months of therapy in the group C, the registered value is significantly lower than the value at the first examination. The blood TRG value in the group A 3 months after the therapy is insignificantly higher than the value after 6 weeks of therapy. In the group B and the group C blood TRG value is insignificantly lower than the value at six weeks after therapy. At patients with and without T2DM and CP, regardless of whether they were treated with SRP and LLLT or with SRP, without LLLT, a significant correction of blood TRG was recorded after 6 weeks, and insignificant after 3 months of treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the root and canal morphology of mandibular third molars in Mitrovica. From our dental office in Mitrovica, 175 extracted mandibular third mo- lars were randomly selected. Each tooth was meticulously cleaned before the root canal anatomy and morphology were carefully examined. Under dental loupe at a 2.5x magnification, mandibular third molars were examined for root number and morphology, number of canals per root, root canal configuration according to the Vertucci classification, incidence of dilacerated roots, and C-shaped canals. 16.43% of the 175 mandibular third molars exam- ined had a root. Sixty-eight percent of the teeth had two roots. Three roots were present in 11% of the teeth. In this study, 4% of the teeth had four roots, while in 4% of cases the C-shaped canals were reported. Also, 6.5% of cases had a dilacerated root. In the field of dental caries manage- ment, Atraumatic Restorative Treatment is known as a minimal intervention and minimally invasive procedure and has shown to be successful in both, developed and devel- oping countries. The Atraumatic Restorative Treatment is the technique that involves removing carious tooth tissues using hand instruments only, without the use of anesthesia and electrically-driven equipment and restoring the cavity with adhesive restorative material usually a high-viscosity glass-ionomer cement. The Atraumatic Restorative Treat- ment in the single-surface restorations presented high sur- vival percentages in both primary and permanent posterior teeth, while in the multiple-surface restorations presented lower survival percentages. Tendencies for ideal root canal preparation and its disinfection are com- promised if the canal is not completely obturated. The pur- pose of this study is to determine the percentage of the vol- ume of the spaces in the root canal of the tooth. obturated with different materials by microcomputer-tomography. In this study, 40 extracted frontal teeth were included. The teeth were divided into two groups according to the mate- rial used for obturation. The teeth after root canal prepara- tion according to the standard technique were obturated with Gutta-Flow and Thermafill. The teeth were analyzed by micro-CT.
