This case report describes the non-surgical management of a tooth with an open apex and necrotic pulp using MTA and CWC (continuous wave compaction) to achieve endodontic success. Although it is a controversial technique, if the right conditions are provided, the creation of an artificial barrier continues to preserve an adequately functional and healthy tooth in the arch while avoiding extensive surgical and prosthet- ic procedures to replace a potentially compressed tooth. This case report highlights the beneficial effects of MTA, which are very good in the field of apexification or even regenerative dentistry as a whole. The 29-year-old man presents post-traumatic necrosis of the maxillary lateral incisor (tooth 12) which has been closed in the apical part with MTA, artificial barriers have been created, achieving the disinfection of the root canal, the remission of apical periodontitis, and where after 7 months of follow-up we have a lot of progress. The importance of using biocompatible materials such as MTA is emphasized, which in this case resulted in satisfactory results. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of using autologous platelet-rich plasma as a graft material for si- nus lift procedures. The mean height of the alveolar bone between the floor of the maxillary sinus and the alveolar crest was 2.50 ± 0.73 mm preoperatively, 16.90 ± 1.93 mm post-surgical procedure, and 14.4 mm after 6 months (p < 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the changes of the values of the most mesial and distal distances in the augmented region. The average dimen- sions of the placed dental implants were 10 mm in length and 3.98 mm in diameter, with 88% high primary stabili- ty in the placed implants and 100% implant survival after a 6-month period. The application of platelet-rich plasma in maxillary sinus floor elevation procedures yields good results in terms of new bone formation, implant osseointe- gration, and positive clinical outcomes. The retromolar canal contains the accessory neurovascular bundle of the inferior alveolar nerve and myelinating fibers of the buccal nerve. In these cases, we suggest pre-prosthetic surgery as the best option which helps to provide a suitable prosthet- ic field. Materials and Methods: The study aims to provide a panoramic overview -illustrated with 2 clinical cases- of pre-prosthetic surgical interventions in 79 patients carried out in the Oral Surgery Service at the University Dental Clinic (KSU) in Tirana, from January 2021 to May 2023. Results: 58% of the patients who underwent preprosthetic surgery were female and 42% were male, with a predomi- nance of the 50-60 years old age group (32%). 45% of these patients had no associated pathologies, with the most fre- quent intervention being alveoloplasty in the mandibular region. Conclusion: Pre-prosthetic surgical interventions in hard tissues ensure an adequate prosthetic field. Numerous stud- ies highlight a high prevalence of oral health conditions and a direct relationship between oral health and quality of life in older people. Good oral health correlates with successful aging, making it pivotal. Addressing the neg- ative impact of these conditions becomes imperative in improving the overall well-being of older individuals, con- stituting a significant public health challenge. Translating knowledge into actionable programs remains a primary obstacle in enhancing oral health for this group. The WHO recommends countries adopt strategies to improve the oral health of older people. Sustaining and promoting oral health in the aging population, alongside tailored pro- grams and strategies meeting their intricate oral and sys- temic health, retains utmost importance. With these new developments in technology and the continued demands of clinicians, advances were also made in bonding materi- als. Particularly challenging is the bonding of brackets to the surfaces of prosthetic restorations made of different types of ceramics, where their glass surface is not suitable for resin penetration, so there is a higher failure rate com- pared to bonding brackets to enamel. It mainly depends on the type of ceramic, the preparation of their surface, the bonding material, the type of brace and other factors. This review of the literature aims to analyze the factors that af- fect the shear bond strength (SBS) of orthodontic brack- ets attached to the surface of different types of ceramics used for prosthetic tooth restoration.
