As a lot of infectious diseases derived from an animal exist, there might be the infection from a pet. Infection from excrement is confirmed in one of the infection routes. Therefore, we suggest a system folding a pet litter sheet without a person touching the excrement. This system consists of seven servomotors. It is completed in what fold along the fold of the pet litter sheet. At first, it divides a long side into three. It folds the right and left. Then, it moves an axle 90 degrees. It also folds it equally. Finally, it trashes it to a trash box. Therefore, it leads to the infection prevention than the above because the owner can trash a pet litter sheet without touching it.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115683463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To develop robotic systems for collaboration with humans, a wide driving range of robotic actuators is necessary. For example, robots for rehabilitation have to conduct some tasks, like supporting human and moving fast. Backdrivability is also necessary for robotic actuators from a viewpoint of safety. A hydraulic closed circuit called an electro-hydrostatic actuator (EHA) is utilized for robotic actuators since they have high power/weight ratio and backdrivability. However, EHA cannot achieve characteristics of both high velocity driving and high force driving since a reduction ratio is constant. This paper proposes a novel hydrostatic continuously variable transmission that has two oil paths with a solenoid valve. The solenoid valve switches between two discrete reduction ratios by switching two oil paths. Furthermore, this paper realizes a continuously variable reduction ratio by switching the two oil paths quickly. This paper confirms that the reduction ratio changes continuously and widely by simulations.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128529508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is necessary to prepare a number of sensor-dependent detection circuits which measure the output of each sensor because the quantity of electricity depends on the sensor. This is a bottleneck in achieving price reduction. Since different sensors are used in different ways, repair and replacement in case of failure vary depending on the type of sensors. To solve those problems, a smart sensing circuit for versatilely detecting the different quantity of electricity is proposed not depending on the sensor type. In this paper, the sensor-independent sensing circuit is proposed to uniformly detect the electric quantities of voltage, current, and resistance. The proposed circuit achieves both sensorindependent usage and low cost. It is also possible to be easily and promptly replaced regardless of the sensor type when a malfunction occurs.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133249123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conventional sensor arrays, the greater the number of sensors, the greater the number of cables to the local controller, which increases the scale of the device. In addition, the increase in the number of cables is a factor in the complexity of the sensor network, leading to an increase in the difficulty of constructing sensor arrays. To solve this problem, we have proposed an organization method in which controllers and sensors are connected by a daisy chain. This makes it possible to realize a sensor array with a controller and a fixed number of cables, independent of the number of sensors. Furthermore, the proposed sensor array is flexible and scalable enough to be easily customized by the user according to the application. However, this sensor array has an issue with the low versatility of the software of each sensor module. In order to switch the sensors controlled by a sensor module, the software of the sensor module also needs to be switched. In this study, we proposed and developed a new software system for arbitrary sensor arrays in order to improve the versatility of the software. As a preliminary evaluation of the sensor array equipped with the developed software, the relationship between the number of modules and the transfer speed from the modules to the controller was investigated.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128500791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If an ultra-general purpose microcontroller with all peripherals existing, any kind of embedded device can be developed by such microcontroller. However, such microcontrollers cannot be built due to the scale and price. A dynamic partial reconfigurable microcontroller (DPR microcontroller), which has a function to switch circuits for each application, can realize an ultra-general purpose microcontroller that can be used for any application. For the realization and practical use of DPR microcontrollers, it is necessary to develop a hardware library-like structure in which optimized interface circuits for each peripheral device are designed in advance. In addition, the impact of dynamic switching of peripheral device interface circuits on performance has not been studied, so it is necessary to evaluate these effects. Using dynamic partial reconfiguration, we measure the execution time, circuit size of the entire system, and power performance improvement ratio of a single system that displays a binarized image on an LCD module after gray scaling and binarizing the image. The results show that the dynamic partial reconfiguration can be used to improve the performance of the system. As a result, we confirmed that the system works correctly even when dynamic partial reconfiguration is used. In addition, we were able to improve the processing speed by about 2.13 times compared with software processing, and reduce the circuit size by about 24%. We also achieved a 13.8-fold improvement in power consumption.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116188894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even with the latest method, there was a limit to the number of switches that can be increased due to the influence of noise in actual environment, and the switch type was only touch. In addition, it was difficult for users to customize it freely because it was not possible to detect multiple switches at the same time. In this study, each switch is designed to be detected digitally in sequence. As the result, the limitation on the number of switches caused by the noise is released, and multiple switches can be detected at the same time. Furthermore, the switch type can be changed from touch panel to push button and sensor module. They can all be used with the same software because they all determine ON/OFF based on the pulse waveform in spite of different type switches. It was confirmed by simulation and experiment that the status of the switches can be detected correctly even if the switch type is changed. The proposed method also has an advantage over the conventional methods on the flexibility because the design, shape, size, surface condition, and switch type can be easily changed by using only two signal lines regardless of the number of switches.","PeriodicalId":161085,"journal":{"name":"The Proceedings of The 9th IIAE International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2020","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127378656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
