However, only in the second-half of the twenty century appeared the first applications related to the area of control theory. In this paper we consider the study of a heat diffusion system based on the application of the fractional calculus concepts. In this perspective, several control methodologies are investigated and compared, such as the adoption of a Smith predictor structure for the better control of systems with time delays. Although there are various implementations of neural networks available for sequential computer systems, lots of these models require an enormous amount of time for the training phase of neural network in case of large network. Therefore the new time saving concepts were developed especially for time reduction of network training thus including modification of original models and learning algorithms as well as implementation of these models on parallel computer system. In this work feedback control of a physical model of an inverted pendulum is investigated from the point of view of a state space model of the system. First a pole placement algorithm is thoroughly explored. After this an artificial intelligence (AI) method is investigated to better cope with the nonlinearities of the physical model. The sufficient conditions for robust application of the perturbation method and the validity of the approximation are proven with a theorem, applying the theory of nonlinear operators of the functional analysis. Three examples comparing the numerical solution of the original system and the analytical solution of the approximate robust model are given. However, the topology structures of these complex networks usually lack micro mechanism supporting. In this paper, we propose an agent-based computational economic system - artificial economy market (AEM), in which scale-free transaction networks emerge from local interactions between agents who have the capability of learning through transactions. With a CRA (classifier systems, rules, and actions) decision system, agent can adapt the environment more flexibly. Therefore, due to individual learning and adapting, scale-free transaction networks emerge automatically in our virtual market system. The maintenance and rehabilitation actions and the development of the road network structure and the changing traffic structure modify the amount of the traffic on the road section. The deterioration process depends on mostly the volume of the traffic. That is why it is important to take into consideration the change of the traffic volume during the planning time horizon. In the lecture some techniques are shown which handle this problem: in multiperiod, long time model at each planning period the traffic volume change is take into consideration. In ranking models the problem could be handled and solved. In the case of one period Markov stabile model there is nothing to do. The control task has the interesting feature that only one of the DOFs of the system, i.e. the position of the ball is controlled via controlling the other axis, the tilting angle of the beam suffering from dynamic friction mathematically approximated by the LuGre model. If the internal physics of the drive system is neglected this system is a 4th order one because only the 4th time-derivative of the ball's position can directly be influenced by the torque rotationally accelerating the beam. It also has position and rotational velocity \"saturation\" since the gravitational acceleration limits the available acceleration of the ball both in the centripetal and in the vertical direction. This limitation is taken into account by the application of angular and angular velocity potentials keeping both values bounded. The variable structure / sliding mode controller applied is based on a standard error metrics that has to converge to zero during finite time according to a fractional order differential equation in discrete time approximation. It is shown that little reduction of the order of differentiation from 1 improves precision and robustness of the control against the measurement noises. The original task was to control the stress of a poly-acril-nitril cable while the temperature of the furnace is changing. Because of the behavior of the cable is peculiar considering the temperature in some ranges the cable getting loose and in other ranges it is tightening. The original method was sufficient but sometimes it fell out from control region and its sensitivity was too high in some region of control characteristics.
