Bars are often available in bent condition; hence straightening is a necessity before commercial use. Therefore, choosing a proper lot of straightened bars with acceptable level of residual curvature is a quality requirement. Use of statistical analysis by Factorial Design will help in decision making through appropriate Test Hypothesis for quality criterion of acceptable range of residual curvatures. This paper has made an attempt to look into the applicability of Factorial Design in bar straightening process.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85851512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These gear pairs are widely used in different engineering constructions because of the better load transmission and the more silent noise. Consequently, the development researches are determinable in this field. Designing of one helical gear is needed for the analysis. After that the creation of its CAD model is essential. This gear pair is analyzed by different fillet radiuses on the tooth root of the pinion. All of the other geometric parameters are unchanged. The applied moments are also permanent for each experiment. After the FEM analysis the received results and graph will be evaluated.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89282200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the efficiency of machining modern engineering materials, existing EDM methods are constantly being researched and improved or developed. This paper deals with an innovative method that enables EDM machining of non-conductive ceramic material, named Assisting Electrode Electrical Discharge Machining (AEEDM). It combines electrical discharge machining with a hybrid assisting electrode. The aim of the study is to find the influence of pulse duration on surface roughness. For the set machining conditions, it was found that the surface roughness was increased by increasing the pulse duration. It should be emphasized that the supporting electrode method is used only in the electroerosion of electrically non-conductive materials.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83024336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many small or medium size industries the problem of straightness is often addressed somewhat manually, which is indeed a slow and cumbersome process and lacks quality and precision. To speed up the process, it is necessary to go for mechanized system i.e. deployment of straightening machine. However, straightening machine indeed helps in perfect processing of operation and quality aspects which can be systematically controlled through various parameters involved in the process. An attempt has been made in this paper to look into the effect of helix angle of the cross-roll arrangement in the process based on the equations developed by former researchers in this field.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88385535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to the requirements for a special shape of the structure, there are also requirements related to the dimensional accuracy and surface quality. In this paper, the milling of thin-walled tubular parts is analyzed. Workpiece of mentioned parts was C45E (AISI 1045) steel. Experimental analysis and optimization is based on Taguchi's experimental plan. The influence of cutting process parameters, depth of cut, feed per tooth and radial depth of cut, was analyzed. As the output cutting parameters, the dimensional accuracy and machined surface quality parameters, were measured and analyzed. Based on experimental data, modeling and optimization were performed. The obtained results defined the optimal input cutting process parameters, which give the best results in milling.","PeriodicalId":16024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":4.5,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83489069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study deals with such pricing decisions in closed-loop supply chains where the demand is assumed to be price- and reusability-dependent function with partially substitutable between different versions of the product. In light of the unique and practical demand function, the Salop spatial model is used to formulate the demand model where the consumer preference and the substitution effect are considered. The analytical and numerical results suggest that the prices of the new and remanufactured products increase in the similarity between multiple versions of the product. This study contributes to the literature by simultaneously considering the effects of pricing and reusability, yet the prior studies are neglecting such effects. The proposed methodology consists firstly of providing different feasible solutions by implementing Dhouib-Matrix-TSP1 with several descriptive statistical metrics. Then, these solutions will become a part of the initial population of the Artificial Bee Colony that will perform this population in order to generate the optimal solution. To validate and compare the proposed method, several experimental instances of multi-hole making are simulated. The used dataset consists of four rectangular layouts and two circular layouts with an arrangement from 25 to 2600 holes. Results show that the proposed method outperforms the standard metaheuristics with an improvement rate between 0.24% and 9.35%. The obtained improvements concern simultaneously the minimal path length, the mean path length, and the SD of path lengths. Uncertainty influences qualitative criteria for evaluating Green Warehouse Inventory Management performance. According to researchers, technological innovations such as the Internet of Things could be used to help warehouse inventory operations achieve long-term sustainability. An Internet of things-based fuzzy set theory model is developed in this paper for dealing with language inaccuracy and uncertainty in human judgment. It is also the first to use the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System to assess a company’s Green Warehouse Inventory Management performance in terms of green metrics. The suggested model reveals that the green delivery dimension has the greatest impact on firm performance, based on data gathered from a case company. Numerous defuzzification approaches have been used to demonstrate the resilience of the proposed FIS model. This industry is a priority sector in Ethiopia’s industrial development strategy, but its performance is below par due to quality-related problems. Prior studies lack a model explaining the pathways to implement quality improvement interventions. The improvement of this industry requires qualitative assessment and is subject to uncertainty due to the linguistic preferences of decision makers. This study adopts the fuzzy Delphi method to arrive at a valid set of attributes and a fuzzy quality function deployment method to address their relationships. The findings demonstrate that 22 requirements and 16 solutions are valid measures. The top solutions include ensuring interdisciplinary design, employing process mapping, implementing quality-related standards and customer-centric operations, and establishing a quality-at-the-source attitude. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed. In Industry 4.0 era, a cyber-attack becomes unavoidable and needs to adopt cyber supply chain risk management to improve the firm. The data were collected from 105 firms in Malaysia through online surveys. The partial least squares structural equation modeling technique examined the model’s goodness and research hypothesis. The results revealed that operations, directly and indirectly, influence (via mediators) supply chain performance. In contrast, governance directly affects supply chain flexibility and indirect (via mediators) influence on supply chain performance; in addition, systems integration did not, directly, and indirectly, influence supply chain performance. This framework indicates the manufacturing industry and related parties with a better understanding of cyber supply chain risk management.
