However, with the advancement of civilization and the pervasive impact of Western culture, wood has undergone a transformation, becoming a commodity that is predominantly esteemed for its practical usefulness. The significance of wood as a symbol of diplomatic or social rank has diminished throughout time, particularly in the context of palatial environments. Hence, the primary objective of this research is to investigate the influence of sociocultural factors on the inclination of the Indonesian market to adopt the Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) style in household goods such as furniture and home accessory design, which is distinguished by its emphasis on minimalistic aesthetics and practicality. In order to reveal these insights, the researchers used the buying intentions theory combined with quantitative explanatory analysis to clarify the observed phenomena and derive conclusions. Data will be gathered via questionnaires employing random sampling, with a focus on the Indonesian market as the target population. The results of the study indicate that social and cultural elements play a significant role in shaping the intention to buy Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) home furnishings in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":" 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139144732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conceptual framework applied is the Legitimacy theory, which is utilized to examine the connection between ESG performance, COVID-19, and firm performance. The evaluation of firm performance involves Tobin's Q for assessing firm value and Return on Assets (ROA) for financial performance. Four hypotheses are formulated and subjected to testing. The study utilizes purposive sampling, encompassing all companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) between 2017 and 2022, resulting in 235 data observations. The analysis of hypotheses is conducted through the SPSS Statistics 26 application. The findings demonstrate a noteworthy correlation between ESG performance and COVID-19 with financial performance, and the firm life cycle moderates this relationship. However, ESG performance and COVID-19 do not significantly affect market performance or firm value. Additionally, the firm life cycle does not moderate the relationship between ESG and firm value. The implications of the study suggest that ESG factors play a legitimizing role, contributing to an overall improvement in firm performance.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139247321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prior to the military attack which Russia calls a “Special Military Operation” starting on February 24, 2022, various efforts to resolve the conflict have been taken by Europe, the United Nations, and other international relations actors. Britain is one of the countries that is actively pursuing diplomacy to stop Russia's actions, which the West calls an illegal invasion. In carrying out its foreign policy, the UK practices Coercive Diplomacy, namely diplomacy with pressure on Russia. This was marked by an ultimatum accompanied by economic, political and military sanctions against Russia. This study uses a qualitative research method based on secondary data from various credible sources and the conceptual theory put forward by Alexander L. George (1971) as the first initiator of the Concept of Coercive Diplomacy. The Manokwari DPRD, as one of the legislative institutions at the regional level, has an important role in carrying out this supervisory task. This research aims to examine the implementation of the Manokwari DPRD's duties in monitoring regional government performance based on Law no. 23 of 2014. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through interviews with members of the Manokwari DPRD, document analysis, and direct observation of the Manokwari DPRD's work processes related to monitoring regional government performance. The research results show that the Manokwari DPRD has carried out its supervisory duties in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 23 of 2014. They supervise regional government performance through a number of mechanisms, such as commission meetings, plenary meetings, and examination of regional heads' accountability reports. They also play an active role in monitoring the use of regional budgets and evaluating regional government programs. However, there are several challenges in carrying out the supervisory duties of the Manokwari DPRD. One of them is limited resources, both in terms of manpower and budget. Apart from that, sometimes there are political obstacles that affect the independence of the DPRD in carrying out its supervisory function. Some DPRD members also face obstacles in accessing information needed for supervision. In the context of monitoring regional government performance, the Manokwari DPRD has great potential to increase accountability and transparency of regional government. To overcome the challenges faced, efforts are needed to strengthen the capacity of DPRD members, increase budget allocations, and ensure DPRD independence in carrying out supervisory duties. Apart from that, good cooperation between the DPRD and regional governments in providing access to the necessary information is also important. In conclusion, the implementation of the Manokwari DPRD's duties in monitoring regional government performance is based on Law no. 23 of 2014 has been running well, although there are still several challenges that need to be overcome. With the right efforts, the Manokwari DPRD can play a more effective role in increasing accountability and transparency of local government and improving the quality of public services for the people of Manokwari.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"96 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139309233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Any person who works and is paid a salary or other sort of pay is a worker or laborer. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how Government Regulation No. 36 of 2021 concerning Wages relates to legal protection for workers/laborers in setting the minimum salary for West Java province in 2023. The study's findings revealed that Government Regulation No. 36 of 2021 concerning Wages—which serves as the basis for determining the minimum wage—does not include the survey known as the Decent Living Needs (KHL), which was formerly conducted annually as required by Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 21 of 2016 concerning Decent Living Needs but is now only reviewed every five (five) years.
