This social media presence has the potential to shift the perspective of democracy. This paper is a reflection to explore the use of social media in the United States democracy, especially in the 2020 election. This paper explained that social media has a significant role in the United States democracy, including those of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Social media, with its shortcomings and advantages, contributed greatly to the election results, increasing public engagement, and increasing political participation. On the other hand, social media also gave rise to public polarization in the U.S. and opened up foreign intervention opportunities. However, by the 2020 U.S. election, the foreign intervention was relatively low, so that it did not have enough effect on the election results. Trump and Biden became two candidates who understood this social media potential and sought to attract voters in their respective ways. With the right and structured strategy, Biden was able to achieve deeper engagement through numerous interactions on social media. As the result, Biden emerged as the winner of the election, one of which with social media support.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115924605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to answer the questions on how the service quality of Bank Muamalat Bogor and how the customer satisfaction is perceived by customers of Bank Muamalat Bogor. The data collection technique was carried out by participant observation and semi-structured interviews since this type of interview is more flexible in which questions can be adapted and changed depending on the answers of the informants. For this study, researchers interviewed 15 bank customers. The results of this study indicate that of the 5 dimensions of service quality, 3 of them received negative responses from customers, namely reliability, assurance and tangible. However, apart from the negative responses, Bank Muamalat with a sharia basis also received a positive assessment for the dimensions of responsiveness and empathy in which customers are satisfied with the services provided by friendly and patient staff who have a high sense of empathy. However, the friendliness and kindness of the staff only is not sufficient. The implementation of online learning as an effort to prevent the spread and transmission of this virus has made the role of parents even greater in the education of their children. The research is aimed at finding out how the behavior change communication program carried out by the government is implemented and what obstacles parents encounter in assisting their children to study at home. This is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The phenomenological approach was chosen because the researchers wanted to dig deeper into the experiences of the informants, especially related to assisting children in online learning. Data was collected by semi-structured interviews with 20 informants consisting of parents of students in grades 1 to 3 of elementary schools in Jakarta. The results of this study indicate that behavioral change communication carried out in order to change the behavior of parents so that they want to accompany their children to study from home is quite successful after going through the pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance stages.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123256686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In carrying out development, a good plan or strategy is needed so that the implementation can be beneficial for the community and continue to be sustainable. The Gunong Kleng Village Government has carried out various strategies to maximize development in the village by: first, increasing the capacity of Human Resources (HR) through the provision of guidance, holding courses or training, and competencies that can increase the knowledge of the village community. Second, monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing program is carried out in order to achieve the expected target. Third, the provision and improvement of complete facilities and tools to manage available natural resources. The methodology used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with data collection techniques using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the research conducted by the researchers concluded that development in Gunong Kleng Village has not run optimally as planned in the village RKPG, due to the lack of community awareness, especially in terms of economic improvement and village community empowerment. In addition, community participation and lack of interest from the community itself.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"160 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133618028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Existing research pointed to the international refugee crisis with industrialised countries targeted border governance that has prompted the emergence of the transnational (social) network, which builds (kinship-based) connectivity and interchangeable acquaintances between migrants in host and country of origin to influence and facilitate migrants’ pre and post mobility process. However, the network often faces weak ties with exploitation and subjugation to human trafficking. Based on twenty qualitative problem-centred face-face interviews, data are collected and analysed with content analysis technique to fill in the gap. The findings indicate that pre-mobility guidance, directive, and legislative decoder regulatory tools influence transnational networks with a lack of well-managed network that may impair pre and post-mobility processes to shape African refugees and undocumented migrant international migratory pathways in an information flow setting. This study demonstrated actor-based network-driven advocacy governance. The outcome points to the strategic mobilization of collective information to resource vulnerable people and refugees or undocumented migrants to meet their needs. This is relevant to collective action in contemporary neoliberal society targeting freedom and movements that may not only constrain ethnic minority group mobility, but the universal human rights principles, public policy learning process, informal institution collaborative actions, and democratic values in times of crisis-related super-diversity societies.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126504593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Loanword borrowing often takes place within languages to fill the glossary of the new terminology. The direction of borrowing is primarily linked to the sociolinguistic status of a language in a community. In the scenario of Malaysia, Malay as a national language and English as a global language plays an essential role in the process of loanword adaptation, technologically, culturally and politically. English and Tamil languages have two disparate grammatical elements. Some grammatical rules accepted in English is illicit in Tamil. In particular, consonant clusters in the English language are prohibited in Tamil. Therefore, words borrowed from English into Tamil are subject to choose one of these two contradictory rules, whether adapt the consonant cluster in its authenticity or repairing to satisfy the grammar of the recipient language. The study results show that some borrowed English loan words obey Tamil grammar, while others violate the rules. This raises questions about the adaptation process's possible representational versus phonetic underpinnings. This paper examines the phonetic adaptation of English loanwords in Tamil adaptation, focusing primarily on the process of vowel epenthesis. It finds that the place features of the epenthetic vowel overcome illegal consonant clusters. The paper concludes that the language-specific phonological phenomena are central to this process. Data for this research were obtained from Tamil short stories (2000-2016). Many studies have been conducted to examine loanword adaptation in Malaysian Tamil. However, this study explores the repairing process of phonetic variations in the adapted words.","PeriodicalId":159284,"journal":{"name":"Ilomata International Journal of Social Science","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125081795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
