The main goal of using this technique is to minimize maintenance in applications with reliability and accessibility concerns. This paper focuses on modulation techniques with reduced dv/dt, and harmonics mitigation in energy conversion process, mainly those of higher amplitude which impose higher losses to the drives, being the 5th and 7th harmonics. The dv/dt reduction contributes to minimizing problems on motors windings, damaged insulation and electrostatic currents on the viscous fluid of bearings that cause motors degradation. Another concern is the need to avoid currents asymmetries that can induce pulsating torques in the machine, undesired DC voltages per phase and displacement of neutral voltage on three-phase loads, which in turn can influence common-mode current flows. Due to the low voltage level of a single battery, the batteries are connected in series as a string. Since the voltage level of an individual battery can suffer overvoltage during the charging/discharging processes, a voltage equalization system must be implemented. In the literature, it is possible of identifying Flyback converter as one of the most selected converters as voltage equalizer. However, the theoretical analysis of the Flyback converter in this application is not profound and then, the design equations are not presented. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the Flyback converter for the voltage equalization of a battery string. The ACO-MV (Multi-variable) presented is an expansion of the ACO algorithm for continuous domain optimization problems adapted to mixed-variable optimization problems, summarized in two types of variables both continuous and categorical. In this work are two decision variables, TDS considered continuous and PS categorical. Normally, the initial solution is randomly generated, in addition, those results are compared by using the same random PS values for solving a relaxation of the DOCRs problem with LP to obtain new TDS values. In this work, a system of automatic generation of ATP cards from a database containing the elements of the electrical network to be simulated was developed. The software queries a relational and structured database and formats an ”.atp” extension entry file according to the fixed format of the ATP Rule Book and FORTRAN77 Standard. This paper proposes a SMA measurement device that uses affordable components, such as the Arduino micro-controller and a LabVIEW programming language interface. Through the addition of sensing, communication and drive components, devices and home appliances become increasingly \"smart\" so that they can communicate with each other, transmit data to end users and facilitate remote operation and automation, for example during periods of peak demand. This has the potential to provide energy-related benefits to end-users and network operators. One of the key benefits of intelligent techniques is the potential to support power reductions and demand side management. Within this context, this work aims to propose a system architecture for recommend suggestions to smart homes inhabitants (according to different user profiles), aiming cost reduction and energy efficiency. The work also includes the implementation of a RESTFul mining web service, which is part of the proposed architecture. The web service is used to release data mining, classifying data over the proposed recommender system. This task comprises eight free coefficients and there is no analytic solution to solve it. Also, the design of the controller is hard to determine due to the existence of several near-optimal solutions with different values for the parameters, which defines this problem as multimodal.
