Studies have been conducted internationally regarding the implementation, feasibility, and efficiency of tele-ergonomics. As perceptions of physical therapists regarding this technology have not been explored in the Philippines, the objective of the study is to explore their perceptions on the practice. \u0000\u0000Methods: The study utilized a phenomenological design involving 10 licensed Filipino physical therapists selected through purposive sampling. Key informant interviews were conducted via Google Meet for data collection. The interview questions derived from Rosenstock’s Health Belief Model were self-made, semi-structured, and validated by two methodological experts. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, coded, and analyzed for the emergence of patterns by thematic content analysis through manual coding using Google Sheets to group themes and subthemes. The data was consolidated into an in-depth analysis and was further proofread by all researchers. \u0000\u0000Results: Thematic content analysis yielded a total of 52 codes, further categorized into four major themes, namely: (1) emergence of tele-ergonomics; (2) practices of tele-ergonomics; (3) its outcomes; and (4) recommendations for the future of the practice. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The study found that tele-ergonomics is necessary with the rise of digitalization and provided recommendations for the continuity of tele-ergonomics. It highlighted the need for proper training to refine the skills of physical therapists. As digitalization opens up new avenues of learning and delivery of services, it is important to establish comprehensive training that incorporates a more in-depth assessment of digital aspects. Hence, readiness is contingent upon proper training. The data further emphasizes one’s control over their motivation, behavior, and efficacy in providing the services.

The Promoting Active Lifestyle among Children with Disability (PALS) Questionnaire aims to determine these influencers' perceptions, capabilities, opportunities, and motivations in active healthy lifestyle promotion. This study evaluated the content validity and feasibility of the Filipino and English versions of the PALS Questionnaire. \u0000\u0000Methods: Six (6) experts rated the relevance of the items in the Filipino and English versions of the PALS Questionnaire. Item and scale content validity indices (CVI) and agreement among raters (modified kappa k*) were computed. The questionnaires were revised and pilot tested among eleven participants comprising primary carers, and special education (SpEd) teachers and administrators using three methods of administration: online survey, phone interview, and pen-and-paper survey. \u0000\u0000Results: Scale-level CVI indicated excellent content validity (0.96 - 0.97). Item-level CVI ranged between 0.67 and 1.00. Interrater agreement on the relevance of all items was excellent (k* = 0.82 - 1.00), except for the item on teaching assistants (k* = 0.56). Most participants found the items easy to understand. The average time needed to complete a questionnaire was 30 minutes. The online version of the questionnaire was identified as the most feasible mode of administration. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The PALS Questionnaire is a valid and practical instrument for measuring the perceptions of Filipino primary carers and SpEd educators' perceptions on promoting children with disabilities’ active healthy lifestyle. Information from the PALS Questionnaire could inform initiatives toward better health and quality of life for the children with disabilities.

However, children with disabilities are less likely to comply with the recommended amount of physical activity (PA). The 2022 Philippine Para Report Card indicates the country’s need to take concrete actions to better promote PA among children with disabilities. Family and school teachers are key influencers (KI) for children with disabilities to engage in PA. This study described experiences of KI in promoting PA among children with disabilities. \u0000\u0000Methods: This qualitative study involved a focus group discussion (FGD) among five participants to explore their experiences in promoting PA among children with disabilities. The participants were purposely identified based on their experience as advocates for children with disabilities and/or qualifications in adapted PA. The FGD was transcribed for thematic analysis. \u0000\u0000Results: Three themes emerged; (1) PA competencies/capabilities facilitate active lifestyle promotion, (2) Promoting PA involves collaborative and child-centered processes and (3) Sociocultural issues challenge PA promotion. The first theme refers to participants’ description of the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes that supported their activities and programs on PA. The second theme describes the processes in promoting PA through collaboration and focusing on the child’s special needs. The third theme are the challenges to PA promotion including parenting styles, societal acceptance of children with disabilities, economic constraints and views on policy implementation. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The participants acknowledged the need to have added competencies in order to promote PA experiences. This helps in developing programs/activities that highlight strengths and abilities of children with disabilities. Partnerships and collaborations, especially with families are helpful supports to promote PA. Participants recommend continuing advocacy for PA through parent and societal education to help overcome some socio-cultural challenges they encounter in PA promotion. Results of this study could serve as a basis for developing partnerships in promoting PA programs for children with disabilities.

Its impact is significantly higher in low to moderate income countries like the Philippines, with a disease burden 5 to 10 times greater. The Cerebral Palsy Quality of Life for Children (CP QOL-Child) - Primary Caregiver Questionnaire is a self-report measure which assesses quality of life (QOL) of children with CP. It has excellent psychometric properties and remarkable representation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. The validity and reliability of the English tool may be affected when used to a different speaking population. The objectives of this research were to: 1) translate the CP QOL-Child to Filipino, and 2) determine conceptual equivalence, understandability, and acceptability of the translated version. \u0000\u0000Methods: Five steps of the translation process were conducted; forward translation, reconciliation of items, backward translation (BT), review of forward and BT by an expert panel, and pretesting with cognitive interviews. Ten target participants, selected using maximum variation approach, participated in the pretesting. In the panel discussion, percentage of agreement on conceptual equivalence was determined and thematic analysis was conducted. For pre-testing, cognitive interviews were evaluated according to understandability of items and appropriateness of response. \u0000\u0000Results: The panel review determined 65 items with full agreement (100%), 13 items with moderate agreement (80%), and 39 items with low agreement (≤60%) on conceptual equivalence between the BT and the original. The considerations for revisions were 1) grammar, 2) colloquialism and, 3) culture. Difficulties in understanding the translation during pre-testing were attributed to unfamiliarity of terms and concepts, and formatting. Participants’ feedback were incorporated into the final Filipino version. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The Filipino translation of the CPQOL-Child appears to be understandable and culturally appropriate based on expert panel and pre-testing participants. This version can be used to establish the tool’s psychometric properties.

Thus, screening and monitoring mobility restrictions in elderly people are critical in order to provide effective measures as well as prompt and timely interventions. \u0000\u0000Methods: The study used a quantitative, non-experimental, comparative, and cross-sectional design. Filipino community-dwelling elderly individuals who were aged 60-79 years old, had no significant disability, and residing in a municipality of the National Capital Region (n=152), participated in the study. Researchers measured mobility performance using Timed Up-and-Go Test (TUGT). While, gait speed was measured using iWalkAssess application to administer 10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT). Preliminary reference values for the mobility-specific tests were presented as means, standard deviations, and 95% confidence intervals. Findings were compared between Faller and Non-Faller groups. \u0000\u0000Results: Fallers demonstrated consistently higher scores compared to their non-Faller counterparts on the TUGT (P-value < 0.05). While there are significantly lower scores in 10MWT among Fallers than in Non-Fallers (P-value < 0.05). Furthermore, the Faller group revealed to have a Timed Up and Go Test mean (SD) score of 13.32 ± 1.41, while there is a reported 0.92 ± 0.15 mean (SD) score in 10-Meter Walk Test. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The study provides preliminary evidence on the differences in gait speed and mobility performance among community-dwelling elderly individuals who are Fallers and Non-Fallers. The study shows that most caregivers possess a high level of knowledge and practices in terms of caring for children with CP. This increased awareness helps caregivers in providing proper assistance in transferring and lifting, activities of daily living and school related activities associated with the care and well-being of children with CP. \u0000\u0000Discussion: The study revealed that there is no gap as a significant relationship was determined between the caregivers’ knowledge and practices in handling children with CP in FCIS. It is imperative that caregivers’ level of knowledge and level of expertise with their handling practices should continue to increase in all aspects to provide quality care that may improve the condition of their child with CP.

The search strategy involved a three-step process to identify both published and unpublished studies from various databases without language or date restrictions. After title & abstract screening then full-text screening, selected studies were assessed for bias using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool, with domains such as attrition, reporting, detection, selection, and performance bias considered. The data extraction was done using a standardized JBI tool, and statistical analysis utilized RevMan 5.4 software. The GRADE approach was employed to evaluate the certainty of evidence and outcomes included information on risk, relative risk, quality of evidence, and various factors influencing it. \u0000\u0000Results: Out of 3,102 papers, only 2 were included in the study. With a total of 152 participants, 80 were assigned to the experimental group while 70 in the control group. Statistical analysis reveals a reduction in pain with a mean difference of 3.50 (95% CI, 95% CI, 4.04, 2.97) & improvement in disability with a mean difference of 13.87 (95% CI, 16.37, 11.37). No significant heterogeneity were calculated as indicated by an I² of 0%. \u0000\u0000Discussion: Findings suggest that both CFO is more effective than placebo orthosis in treating back pain and disability. However, statistical analysis reveals that CFO is clinically significant in treating only back-pain related disability and not back pain per se. The review acknowledges a scarcity of compelling evidence from prior research, underscoring the necessity for additional research to confirm the broader effectiveness of foot orthotics in managing low back pain.
