The prevalence of the Indonesian population experiencing toothache is 23%. Tooth extraction occupied the top position, namely 54,3%. Wound healing after tooth extraction can cause risks and complaints from sufferers. The process of fast wound healing after a tooth extraction is the main thing that needs to be considered. Chitosan is a biomaterial that has been used to accelerate the healing process of extraction wounds. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of using chitosan nano mouth spray on epithelial thickness in the healing process of socket wounds after tooth extraction (in vivo study on male Wistar rats). Method: This research is a true experimental type with a post-test-only control group design. Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into three groups. K1, the treatment group was given nano mouth spray. K2, the positive control group, was given aloclair plus spray. K3, the negative control group, was given aquadest. They were then analyzed using one-way ANOVA and LSD tests. Result: The results showed no re-epithelialization was formed in each group or the thickness was 0. Because the epithelial layer has not yet formed, changes in fibroblas cells can be observed. The results showed a significant difference in the number of fibroblass between each treatment group. Conclusion: The conclusion obtained is that chitosan nano mouth spray has no effect on epithelial thickness in the socket wound healing process after tooth extraction in male Wistar rats on the 7th day after treatment. Chitosan nano mouth spray affected the number of fibroblast in the socket wound healing process after tooth extraction in male Wistar rats on the 7th day after treatment.","PeriodicalId":156596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Medali","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114932371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prevalence of dental caries in children in 2018 in Indonesia is still very high, especially at the age of 3-4 years, the prevalence of caries reaches 36.4%, while at the age of 5-9 years it is 54%. The behavior of parents, especially mothers, has an influence on children's oral health, because mothers are role models as well as children's closest figures since birth. There are still many parents who do not know that their behavior affects their child's behavior, and do not consider it important to take care of their child's teeth. Method: This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental behavior on the caries index in children, and also to determine the effect of caries on the quality of life of preschool children. The search for journal literature in this study used 3 databases, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed and NCBI according to keywords, then screened and selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Result: The behavior of parents, especially mothers, will determine the health of children's teeth. In addition, children's behavior also plays a significant role in maintaining the health of their teeth, one of which is in terms of brushing teeth, diet. Conclusion: Parents who have poor behavior in maintaining dental health have a higher risk of developing dental caries than mothers who have a good attitude.","PeriodicalId":156596,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Medali","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123265697","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A large number of demands on academic assignments and practical assignments that cause stress to students of the dental profession continuously will lead to a state of work fatigue or burnout syndrome, which is divided into three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and decreased self-performance. This study aims to analyze the occurrence of burnout syndrome based on the dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced self-performance. MethodS : This type of research uses an observational and cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique with simple total sampling obtained 168 respondents. Data collection was carried out by giving a questionnaire regarding burnout syndrome. Statistical analysis used a univariate analysis test and was described descriptively. ResultS : Test results on the dimensions of emotional exhaustion in the heavy category are 72.2%, in the medium category 25%, and in the mild category 2.8%. Conclusion : The results of the depersonalization dimension test were 13% in the severe category, 29.9% in the medium category, and 61.1% in the mild category.
