The analysis is usually the first step taken to cause a change. This is mainly done specifically to define the gap between the current and the desired individual and organizational performances. Generally training is carried out for the various purposes such as performance problem, anticipating new system, task or technology and also for self development. In all three situations, the starting point is a desire to effect a change. Given this, you must know how the people who will experience change perceive it. In the absence of a training analysis, we may find employees resistant to change and reluctant to training. They may be unable to transfer their newly acquired skills to their jobs because of the organizational constraints. This paper helps us to identify the effectiveness of training through self development analysis. From the analysis it could be inferred that the opportunity for self development has the highest mean score value of 1.5040 and the next highest value is opportunity for learning with mean score value of 1.6240 which shows that a good opportunity for self development and learning for employees by training.","PeriodicalId":156459,"journal":{"name":"Prabhandan - Journal of Business Administration","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126960718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been many firms and organizations that have implemented KM principles, methods, practices or tools. However, academic institutions in particulartechnology and management institutes have taken more interest recently, in introducing KM approaches. In general, the educationsector could be described as one where there is slow creation and diffusion of knowledge management toos. The general question is when KM is a driving force for change elsewhere, how is the education system responding and how should it respond? (Walshe,J., 2002). Success in an increasingly competitive educational market depends critically on the quality of knowledge which institutions apply to their key academic and organizational processes. This paper presents a framework for the adoption of KM principles in colleges of Technology under Ministry of Manpower, in Sultanate of Oman, in the context that is used to improve efficiency and effectiveness of creation and sharing of knowledge among people, industry and other stake holders of higher education. The study envisages developing a conceptual framework of knowledge management especially to Higher Technology Colleges of Ministry ofManpower which further seeks to develop an effective academic and administrative management system.","PeriodicalId":156459,"journal":{"name":"Prabhandan - Journal of Business Administration","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125151235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The object of clean environment cannot be met without bestowing proper concern to green marketing activities. Most people believe that green marketing mainly refers to the promotion or advertising of products with environmental characteristics. Generally the terminologies like, phosphate free, recyclable, refillable, ozone friendly and environmental friendly are some of the traits that people associate with green marketing. But it is clearly understood that green marketing envelopes the products not only produced by the agriculture but also the products produced by industries as well. The concern has also been shown towards the consumer goods and the services. Around the world, there are resorts that are beginning to promote themselves as “Ecotourism” facilities that specialize inexperiencing nature or operating in a fashion that minimizes their environmental impact. Economics, the mother of allcommerce related subjects, highlights the issue of limited resources and unlimited wants, creates the problem of choice anddevelopment of alternative ways of satisfying these unlimited wants.","PeriodicalId":156459,"journal":{"name":"Prabhandan - Journal of Business Administration","volume":"37 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131848814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
