Utilization of natural drugs among patients under diabetes mellitus pharmacotherapy is across the board. Objective: To examine the pk-pd(pharmacodynamic-pharmacokinetic) interactions of lycopene and gliclazide in animal models and to understand the safety & effectiveness. Methods: Single and multiple dose interaction studies were carried out in normal rats, diabetes induced rats and rabbits to evaluate the effect of lycopene on the gliclazide activity. Blood samples from the study animals were used for the estimation insulin and glucose levels by using radioimmunoassay method and chemistry analyzer (automated) respectively. Homeostasis model assessment used for determination of β-cell function. Additionally, sophisticated HP-LC technique used for analysis of diabetic rabbits serum samples for gliclazide. Results: Gliclazide produces significant reduction in blood glucose levels in diabetic animals. However, tests examined from gliclazide in blend with lycopene indicated more prominent diminishment in blood glucose concentration in animals with diabetes. Conclusion: The study concludes that the lycopene along with gliclazide shows the significant pharmacodynamics interaction, but doesn’t establish pharmacokinetics interaction up on single and multiple-dose treatment in animals.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84071049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The test items (TIs) were separated into two parts. One part of each sample was received Consciousness Energy Treatment by Alice Branton and termed as Biofield Treated (BT) samples, while other parts of each sample denoted as untreated TI (UT). MTT data found TIs were safe and nontoxic at tested concentrations. ALP was significantly elevated by 390% and 200% in UT-DMEM + BT-TI at 0.1 and 1µg/mL, respectively; while, increased by 135.29% in BT-DMEM + BT-TI at 0.1µg/mL than UT-DMEM + UT-TI. ALP was significantly increased by 106.34%, 138.47%, and 212.68% in UT-DMEM + BT-TI, BT-DMEM + UT-TI, and BT-DMEM + BT-TI, respectively at 10µg/mL than untreated. Collagen was significantly increased by 288.68% and 106.96% in UT-DMEM + BT-TI and BT-DMEM + BT-TI, respectively at 10µg/mL than untreated. Further, collagen was significantly increased by 435.78% and 139.72% in UT-DMEM + BT-TI and BT-DMEM + UT-TI, respectively at 50µg/mL than untreated. Percent of bone mineralization was significantly increased by 299.13%, 239.91%, and 218.77% in BT-DMEM + BT-TI at 0.1, 1, and 10µg/mL, respectively than untreated. Besides, percent of bone mineralization was distinctly increased by 192.51% in BT-DMEM + UT-TI at 10µg/mL than untreated. Overall, Biofield Treated vitamin D3 remarkably improved bone parameters in MG-63 cells and could be an alternative to vitamin D3 deficiency and used various bone disorders viz. low bone density, osteoporosis, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, stress management and prevention, and anti-aging by improving overall health.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85447388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There we 44 patients with advanced tumour disease and 21 with early-stage disease. Conventional cancer treatment was chosen by 64 patients and one of them chose homeopathy only. Four patients made important changes in their lifestyle, and 8 had bio-decoding sessions. All patients had taken homeopathic medicines as palliative care tailored to different stages of their disease. A single drug treatment was used in 18 cases, based on the entire case. Ten cases we treated by applying Banergi protocols and constitutional medicine, and 37 cases were treated with different successive or combined drugs, depending on the state of the patient at the time, with the Minotti protocol for palliative care being applied in 9 cases. The predominant homeopathic dilutions were centesimals. The great variability of medications used on each of the patients shows the individuality of patient symptoms with the same clinical diagnosis, as well as the great variability in the criteria of homeopathy doctors when establishes a therapeutic strategy. Homeopathy has helped to control the tumour disease (patient free of disease) in 10 cases of early stage cancer and 12 cases of advanced tumour disease. Homeopathy was only palliative in 7 cases of early-stage cancer, in 22 cases of advanced tumour disease, and in five other cancers without staging. Homeopathy did not work in one case of early stage cancer, in two cases of advanced tumour disease, and in one case without staging. There were 5 cases in which results could not be assessed at the time of the study. According to the subjective assessment by the homeopathic doctor, homeopathy contributed to the control of tumour disease (patient free of disease with biological and /or imaging tests) in 22 cases, it was palliative in 34 cases, 4 patients died, and 5 cases cannot yet be evaluated. According to the assessment by the patient, it helped to control and improve their quality of life in 55 cases and it does not help them at all in 5 cases. This observational study has enabled us to evaluate the effectiveness of our work in the context of our clinical reality and more accurately describe all parameters involved in the case, including conventional treatments and their impact. Patient opinion is part of the evaluation of the results and requires questionnaires that can be adapted and standardized. Homeopaths carry out their work within an ethical framework bound by civil responsibility and respect for patient autonomy, open to collaboration with the work of the other professionals with a common goal, which is none to cure, relieve the patient, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"39 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73626712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bacterial pathogens are majorly implicated in the mastitis of cows and buffaloes leading to major production losses in dairy animals resulting in huge economic losses to dairy farmers and industry [1]. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli are the major bacterial pathogens of bovine/bubaline mastitis [2]. However, the emergence of antimicrobial resistance in bacterial pathogens that cause mastitis in dairy animals is a cause of grave concern [3-5]. Also controlling the inflammation in mastitis is very essential as the persistent inflammation of mammary gland tissue may result in permanent unproductivity in dairy animals [6-7]. Mastitis is the most frequent reason for the use of antimicrobial drugs in dairy herds, which eventually has resulted in antimicrobial resistance [8].","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"2009 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86247128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the ancient time, the knowledge of herbal medicines were confined by a tribal community, practiced villagers, and priests but in the modern era, the popularity and faith in the bioactive containing herbal drugs have become widespread. Although, several synthetic drugs are available in market to treat various diseases and disorders but, they have side-effects. On the other hand, there is an increasing demand of the herbal medicines, scientist and pharmaceutical industries investigating phytochemical as they are safe, effective, cost effective, eco-friendly and free from deleterious effects without any side effects. Artemisia genus provides a promising cure for various diseases by containing antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Therefore, Artemisia genus prompted us to compile a review on the secondary metabolites and several phytochemical compounds characterized in its different species.","PeriodicalId":15434,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine & Alternative Healthcare","volume":"81 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85458934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
