The method first uses a median filter to straighten the zigzagged edges and then uses a gradient operator with minimum smoothing processing to detect the edges. Finally, edges are extracted with the help of the gradient directions. Extracted edges are straight and have accurate locations too.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130896274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system investigated here consists of two Inertial Navigation systems, ranging Radar and Vision sensor. The necessary and sufficient existence condition of desired estimator and its design method are solved by convex optimization based on linear matrix inequality. Numerical simulation results show that the filtering algorithm has a valid estimate of the relative status between the two machines when Kalman filter does not work as good in the case of non-Gaussian noise and system model uncertainty.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122382960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Partial transmit sequences (PTS) is one of the most well-known schemes to reduce the PAPR in OFDM systems. However, the conventional PTS scheme requires an exhaustive searching over all combinations of allowed phase factors. Consequently, the computational complexity increases exponentially with the number of the sub-blocks. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is a recently proposed approach to solve the optimization problem of finding the phase factors of the PTS. In this paper we propose a new method for reducing computational complexity of the original PSO (OPSO) technique. Simulation results show that the proposed PSO (PPSO) compare to the original PSO can effectively reduce the computational complexity of finding phase factors of the PTS.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127899434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we address this issue by applying and proposing three smart PEV charging modes, i.e. the valley-searching, the interruptible and the variable-rate charging patterns. The suggested approaches are studied through numerical simulation experiments for a range of scenarios by using the random charging as the comparison benchmark for a residential area. The result shows that the demand dispatch of PEVs based on smart charging has many significant advantages over the random charging in terms of graceful load profile (peak shaving and valley filling) as well as the improvement of the user satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133539533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It utilizes the ARM processor S3C6410 and embedded Linux operating system as platform, and develops an embedded network streaming media player which broadcasts streaming media on the ARM through the transplantation of RTSP protocol and Mplayer. In addition, it selects QT to design the network streaming media player graphical interface. With a real-time streaming transmission technology, some basic functions of streaming media are implemented in this paper. What's more, the authors design test plans to validate the performance of the media player. After tests, this player proves to play MPEG-4/H.264 streaming data smoothly, so we can conclude that this player can be applied in the embedded system very well.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133566689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
