It is therefore important to model and quantify CCF in reliability analysis. Diversity has long been used to protect redundant systems against CCF. Whilst there is clear evidence that diversity can bring benefits when compared with identical redundancy systems, these benefits can be difficult to quantify. Therefore, a novel CCF model which studies CCF from the viewpoint of Root Cause (RC) and Coupling Factor is proposed in this paper. The key parameters of the novel CCF model can be determined based on a stress-strength model by classifying variables of stressors and strengths according to RC categories. An application example is provided that illustrates how the proposed CCF model performs for a chemical reactor safety system (CRSS) for protection against high pressure and temperature. The results not only confirm that diversity techniques lower the CCF probability but also provide quantitative assessment of how large the improvements can be in different diversity techniques.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129122244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the shipboard power system is modeled as a complex network, and topological characteristics of shipboard power grid are analyzed. Two structural vulnerability criterions, which are electric betweeness of node and cabin respectively, are defined to evaluate the importance of network elements and element groups in a cabin, and analysis structural vulnerability. The results of attack tests on a typical shipboard power system show that the structural vulnerability of shipboard power system has close relationship with topological structure and the cabin betweenness can effectively identify the structural vulnerability of shipboard power system.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125537820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this algorithm is to maximize the utilization of road friction while maintaining directional stability of the vehicle during emergency braking on a μ-split road. An ABS algorithm based on slip ratio threshold is adopted. DYC is used to calculate the desired yaw moment, which is further used for determination of an adaptive modification coefficient for ABS control. The performance of the proposed integrated control algorithm is compared with modified independent control algorithm, independent control algorithm and low selection control algorithm of ABS via hardwire-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations. The results show that the comprehensive performance of the vehicle during emergency braking on a μ-split road is improved by employing the integrated control algorithm.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126257805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to overcome the overhead brought by network coding, a network coding optimization model under the framework of algebraic network coding is designed in this paper, and the joint optimization for both the link cost and coding cost of network coding are carried out based on this model. In addition, the paper proposes MOONC (Multi-Objective Optimization Problem of Network Coding) based on improved NSGA-II algorithm. During the discussion of these two parts, the co-operation of them is also discussed. The transmitting protocol interfaces the outer input data with a parallel port, buffers the input data, encodes the input data stream, serializes the parallel data and outputs the serialized data. It also has an output management unit to manage the activity of each part of the transmitting protocol. The receiving protocol filters and synchronizes the input serial data stream, parallels the serial data stream, decodes the input data, checks received error, handles transmission exception and interfaces the outer receiver with a parallel port. The entire transceiving protocol could be programmed into a single FPGA chip to improve system integrity and reduce the system cost. The presented protocol could be taken as \"protocol transparent\" for outer interfaces, meaning that when interfacing the presented system to an outer system, users don't have to consider what protocol the outer system transceiving data stream is under, for example, the TCP/IP protocol or anything else, in the case that its I/O interface is a parallel port. Simulation and final experiment prove that the protocol presented is a working solution at a certain bit rate scale.","PeriodicalId":153613,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Control Engineering and Communication Technology","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132591640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
