That, is why recent researches are intersted usually in enhancing simulation tools and developing new techniques to predict the electromagnetic properties of these devices. The MoM-GEC is one of the intersesting method which is well adapted to investigate planar structures. In this paper, based on this approach, we study the diffraction of 1D structures. for validation purpose, we investigate 1D reflectarrays to prove the new approach's benefits. Numerical results are presented and show good agreement when compared to HFSS simulation.","PeriodicalId":152707,"journal":{"name":"2017 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116059926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering a particular Multiple-Input Single-Output (MISO) configuration, the delay between two direct paths impacts, by means of amplitude modulation, the received spectrum. With an appropriate demodulation, one can then estimate the TDOA even with presence of multipath. This method exhibits superior resolution compared to conventional time domain approaches dealing with inter-correlation function or spectral domain involving Fourier Transform. For example, it allows estimating TDOA of about 2 ns when using a null-to-null bandwidth of 100 MHz. Such approach can be useful for several applications needing accurate positioning for indoor environment.","PeriodicalId":152707,"journal":{"name":"2017 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129013666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Varactors based Schiffman phase shifters are added to the power divider of four elements phased array. The proposed phase shifter generates a continuous phase shift variation by adjusting only one control voltages. Thus, the power divider can be able to steer continuously its beam with a maximum steering angle of 18.8° at 12.7 GHz. Particularly, a comparison between the four-, five- and six-port based receives is conducted. The calibration procedure that compensates for the non-ideal characteristics of the n-port junction and the non-linearity and memory effects of the power detectors for each receiver has been presented. In an attempt to validate the efficiency of each N-port based receiver, a performance metric, such as the error vector magnitude (EVM) between the complex envelop of the transmitted signal and the recovered baseband one, has been adopted.. An experimental validation of the calibration procedures has revealed the efficiency and the superiority of the six-port based receiver with an EVM as low as 2% EVM for different excitation signals.","PeriodicalId":152707,"journal":{"name":"2017 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131888848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The band-notched capability is attained by means of two circular Split Ring Resonators (SRRs) which printed near the feeding microstrip line. The simple Vivaldi antenna is capable to cover a narrow band at 3.2 GHz and a wide band 5.5- 12 GHz. In order to avoid the interferences with the WiMAX operating band, the narrow band will be notched using a band stop action which is attained by means of the SRRs. Moreover, the wanted rejected frequency is fixed by the total size of the SRRs. The proposed antenna has a compact structure and exhibits satisfactory radiation performances making it a good candidate for various applications that need UWB antenna with WiMAX notched band characteristic.","PeriodicalId":152707,"journal":{"name":"2017 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120948780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
