The primary features of DMDD are chronic, non-episodic, persistent irritability and temper tantrums disproportionate with the trigger. We present a case of DMDD that was managed with homoeopathic medication and auxiliary measures. A 17-year-old male patient presented to the Psychiatry Outpatient Department of National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health with symptoms of anger outbursts, abusiveness, persistent irritable mood and laziness. The consultant psychiatrist diagnosed him with DMDD. He was treated with individualised homoeopathic medicine. The outcome was assessed at baseline and further using the Irritability — Parent/Guardian of child age 6–17 affective reactivity index (ARI). The patient’s ARI score reduced drastically within 2 months. His anger, abusiveness, propensity to hurt and irritability also reduced markedly. Behavioural aspects and social interactions showed good outcomes.Individualised homoeopathic medicine is useful in managing of DMDD by improving the susceptibility and modifying the patient’s state of reactivity.

Psychological stress in them is not only due to excess mortality risk but also due to restrictions instituted to mitigate the chances of contracting COVID. The current pandemic is likely to lead to substantial changes in the health-care services as it has shown the need for improved multidisciplinary and community- centered care. The purpose of this paper is to address the challenges faced while implementing a multidisciplinary structured programme for the mental well-being in residents of old age home and assess the role played by the sustainable multidisciplinary structured interventions to alleviate the psychological suffering. The old age home in the study is situated in a remote area of Palghar district. Availing of required medical health-care facility during a pandemic was a challenge in itself, where delivering the multidisciplinary intervention for mental well-being was a much needed and never tested in such a setup.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Primary screening and knowledge of acute and chronic stressors revealed the current status of emotional wounds and hence the emotional sensitivity of the group. Scales (generalised anxiety disorder [GAD-7], patient health questionnaires [PHQ-2] and dementia assessment by rapid test [DART]) were employed to evaluate intensity of anxiety, depressive symptoms and dementia. Techniques to deal with distress demonstrated in each session were based on action learning principles. Structured group interventions were done through relevant videos, group discussions, relaxation techniques, meditation and physical exercise by the team of homoeopathic physicians, psychologist and physiotherapist. Results were subjected to statistical analysis.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000There was a statistically significant reduction in anxiety following intervention, z = −3.886, P < 0.001, with a large effect size (r =.57). This is a case report of a 60-year-old woman who presented with complaints indicating Stage 3 haemorrhoids with a longstanding history of constipation. After acute case taking, observing the pathological progress of the disease and repertorising, Aesculus hippocastanum was prescribed. The patient’s condition and improvement were evaluated using the bleeding, prolapse, reduction, skin tags and thrombosis classification and staging at each follow-up. The patient showed marked improvement within a month. This case report emphasises the role of homoeopathic medicines in cases of haemorrhoids.

This was an experimental study conducted using the primary data and assessed based on clinical symptoms and pathological reports. A total of three cases were included in this study. BPH was diagnosed based on clinical symptoms and ultrasonography reports. The patients were prescribed Lycopodium clavatum, Thuja occidentalis and Arsenicum album based on clinical signs, the totality of symptoms and individualisation. Dietary changes were recommended as well. Improvement was assessed based on symptom reduction and changes in ultrasonography reports. All three patients improved clinically and pathologically, including a reduction in prostate size. This case series provides evidence that individualised homoeopathic treatment is effective in pathological conditions such as BPH, in both symptom relief and pathological changes.
