While it can affect the scalp, it may occur in other parts of the body as well. No age group is predominantly affected. This case series evaluates the effects of homoeopathic treatment in patients with AA. A total of three cases were included in this study. AA was diagnosed based on clinical symptoms. The patients were prescribed Lycopodium clavatum, Carcinosinum and Tuberculinum based on clinical signs, totality of symptoms, individualisation and miasmatic analysis. Dietary changes were recommended as well. Improvement was assessed based on symptom reduction and growth of new hair. All three patients improved clinically and new hair growth was seen. This case series provides evidence that individualised homoeopathic treatment is clinically effective in AA.

They are typically slowly enlarging and non-tender. A deep chalazion is caused by inflammation of a tarsal meibomian gland, while a superficial chalazion is caused by inflammation of a Zeis gland. A 4-year-old child was brought for homoeopathic treatment of a meibomian cyst of the left upper eyelid with the hope to avoid surgical intervention. After full case taking, case analysis and proper individualisation, a single homoeopathic medicine was prescribed. After 2 months of treatment, the child was relieved of her presenting symptoms and showed general improvement in health. This article provides a clinically useful review of a case with evidence about how an individualised homoeopathic medicine treated a likely surgical case successfully.

It is usually related to occupational or routine household activities. Its aetiology is difficult to determine in most cases and its treatment is challenging. It may become severe and disabling to many patients over time. We report the case of a 50-year-old woman who presented with palmar dermatitis, dryness and cracking of the skin of hands and itchy eruption on palms for 2 years. Based on individualisation according to the presenting totality (grief, despair, restlessness, sadness and aversion for bathing) and pathological diagnosis (dry and cracked skin of palm), Sulphur was prescribed in increasing potencies. The symptoms disappeared within 3 months and the patient reported that she felt relaxed, which had eluded her for 2 years. This case provides evidence supporting the effectiveness of individualised homoeopathic medicine in cases of palmar dermatitis.

The compartmentalised division of the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery syllabus into 12 distinct subjects strikes at the heart of integration. The introduction of the subject of Advanced Teachings in Fundamentals of Homoeopathy at the PG level in MD Part 1 attempts to address this lacuna and aims to foster the development of various competencies necessary for effective practice. However, we need a method by which we can deliver integration in the classroom. Dr. M. L. Dhawale’s seminal papers on homoeopathic education which were conceived, applied and refined through application at the then Bombay Homoeopathic Medical College (1968–70) and Father Muller’s Homoeopathic Medical College (1985–86) form the backdrop of this paper. The method essentially brings homoeopathic practice into the classroom so that learning becomes experiential. This paper attempts to describe the method of conceptualising and planning an integrated curriculum in the classroom, thereby addressing the gap between theory and practice in the training to evolve competent homoeopathic physicians. A further paper will describe the method of implementation and the results of putting integration in practice.

Building a rapport with every patient is not only a crucial task for the homoeopath, not all patients cooperate with the process, which in itself could be an individualistic feature. To perceive a man in disease, the homoeopath must be a master of interview techniques to create a Hahnemannian integrated totality, which is a challenging task. This paper demonstrated the role of the interview technique in perceiving the uncooperative patient to define therapeutic problem definition and resolution in homoeopathic clinical practice. Listening, observing, questioning, interpreting confronting and empathising were effective interview techniques to successfully create a Hahnemannian integrated totality to understand the man behind the sickness in uncooperative patients. This study demonstrated the successful application of interview techniques that enable a homoeopath to understand a patient as a person through the complaints in terms of integrated Hahnemannian totality to construct a therapeutic problem resolution.

The use of this tool has shown good results. This study aimed to determine the utility of EMQ in Homoeopathic postgraduate students to assess knowledge about core topics in homoeopathic philosophy.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000The tool was used in the module of miasms with Part 1 Homoeopathic Postgraduate students during their Advanced Teaching of Fundamentals of Homoeopathy sessions wherein a case-based approach is used to teach the core subjects of Homoeopathy (Homeopathic philosophy, Materia Medica, Repertory) with Clinical Medicine. These sessions are part of the curriculum for the MD (Hom) course Part 1. The module of miasms was chosen for this study. The pathogenesis and travel of disease pathology on the soil of miasm were the grounds used for assessing students. The students were asked to solve the same EMQ caselets before and after the classroom session with the expectation that they would extend their learning from class to similar scenario in caselets (post-session).
