Although exact aetiology is unknown but probable causes include entrapment of the nerve at the mental foramen and vasospasm due to external factors. Surgical management along with medical management provides an assuring relief for the Bell’s palsy sufferers, may produce adverse effects such as facial nerve palsy or post-surgical synkinesis. Homoeopathic medicines, when selected based on signs and symptoms, act on the vital force dynamically and gently restore the nerve functioning to normal. Here, we present a case of left-sided Bell’s palsy recovered with homoeopathic medicines prescribed on the basis of causation and side affinity. The recovery was assessed by the House Brackmann scale and the quality of life was assessed using the modified Naranjo criteria.

With literary piracy reaching celestial heights in recent times, ethics must be maintained so that research integrity prevails. Plagiarism ranges from copying a few words to entire paragraphs and even ideas. The contribution(s) of the original author are not mentioned, not even using in-text citations. Plagiarism occurs largely due to the writer’s ignorance, but may be deliberate on occasion. The aim of the study was to understand the level of awareness among students and faculty members of Indian colleges/universities about plagiarism and its related aspects while writing and publishing articles.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000A virtual cross-sectional survey was conducted on students and faculty members using Google Forms. The vital principle collectively denotes these five basic principles. However, the energy or information on its own is insufficient to make life. Energy, information and preservation of information are necessary for the existence of life. The biological process of adaptation to environmental influences also helps the preservation process. All these provide evidence that the vital principle is relativistic. Similarly, Dr. Hahnemann advises that the smallest possible dose itself is sufficient to cure the disease. However, Hahnemann has not defined what exactly this ‘smallest possible dose’ or ‘minimum dose’ means, due to which there is ambiguity among homoeopaths. In his earlier periods of medical practice, he used mother tinctures and mother solutions to treat the patient. He encountered severe aggravations, which compelled him to dilute the medicine to avoid aggravation. However, low- and ultra-high dilutions of homoeopathic medicine have been observed to act on the five fundamental biological principles within the closed system (for example, epigenetic modification). Relating and using these well-established scientific principles help us to create better scientific homoeopathy. Thus, the vital principle is observed to have a relativistic phenomenon and the concept of minimum dose has been observed to be correlated with the principles of biology.

Ovarian cysts are fairly common in clinical practice and may be diagnosed symptomatically or incidentally through investigations like ultrasound sonography. This article reports two cases of women with ovarian cysts who were treated successfully with individualised homoeopathic medicines. The medicines were prescribed in fifty millesimal (LM) potency, based on homoeopathic principles of individualisation. The cases were further observed for 12 months without recurrence of symptoms. Both patients were assessed at baseline and end of treatment for pain using the visual analogue scale score and ultrasound reports. During treatment, both patients followed up every 20 days. After treatment ended, they were further observed for 12 months for symptom recurrence. In the second case, the MONARCH score was +7/13, indicating a positive causal attribution of homoeopathy in resolution of the pathological ovarian mass. Favourable results were observed through homoeopathic constitutional approach to ovarian cysts. Symptomatic relief and objective changes were seen, along with no recurrence of the symptoms and cysts. Homoeopathic Individualized medicines prescribed in fifty millesimal potency can serve beneficially in the management of surgical cases like ovarian cysts.

Beyond the physical dimension of the disorder, it has a profound effect on the emotional and psychological faculty of the patient which can result in poor self-esteem, stigmatisation, and a stressful mental state affecting social-functioning and interpersonal relationships. Homoeopathy being a holistic science having a bio-psychosocial approach can manage cases of psoriasis effectively. A 43-year-old female attended the National Institute of Homoeopathy Outpatient Department with complaints of multiple circumscribed skin lesions over the scalp, back and extremities for 25 years. After a thorough evaluation of the case, the Arsenicum album was prescribed in 50 millesimal potency. There was a steady clinical improvement in the case and a reduction in the psoriasis area and severity index score. After 6 months of observation following the disappearance of symptoms, there was absolutely no recurrence of psoriatic skin lesions. This case report shows favourable outcomes with individualised homoeopathic treatment. However, a conclusive judgement regarding the efficacy of homoeopathic medications in treating plaque psoriasis cannot be made based on a single case. To evaluate the efficacy of individualised homoeopathic medicine, a large-scale randomised study is suggested.

As well as, it is known that Dr. Allen has made certain changes in the therapeutic pocket book (TPB) in his edition. Therefore, to explore the possible bases of generalisation of time modality and to study changes done by Allen, this study has been taken up. (1) To study changes in the time modality section across the editions of the TPB. (2) To explore the method adopted by Boenninghausen to generalise time modality rubrics and grading of the remedies. (3) To identify changes in grades of medicines done by Dr. Allen and trace their justification.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000We compared the rubrics representing time modality and marks allocated to remedies under the time modality section of TPB-German (TPB-G), TPB-Hempel (TPB-H) and TPB-Allen (TPB-A) in three remedies. We also compared the representation of time modalities in Materia Medica Pura or Chronic Disease with grades given to remedies in repertory. The original books (TPB-G and TPB-H) were sourced from the internet and their authenticity was assumed. The TPB-A, Materia Medica Pura and Chronic Disease were physically checked for representation.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Most of the instances of representation of time modality in the Materia Medica Pura or Chronic Disease matched the markings assigned by Boenninghausen in the original edition. In a few rubrics, Boenninghausen assigned higher markings, which did not match the representation in Materia Medica. Dr. Allen added some rubrics and changed the grades of the medicines.\u0000\u0000\u0000\u0000Boenninghausen assigned gradings in accordance with Materia Medica most of the time. In some rubrics, there is a mismatch in Materia Medica’s representation and grades of remedies in the time modality section of repertory, which is assumed to be due to his clinical experience. Boenninghausen has generalised the rubrics and remedies under a particular time modality if it is present in most anatomical parts or systems in Materia Medica Pura or Chronic Disease, so it is justifiable to use the analogy. Dr. Allen’s addition of rubrics was a work in progress; the raises in markings in his repertory need critical study and should be applied with caution in clinical practice.\u0000
