Service-orientation and cloud computing offer established approaches for achieving flexibility in the use of computing resources and sourcing strategies. This requires promoting systematic development and management of capabilities to key activities. To ease the adaptation of business services to changed business needs a complementary abstraction layer, namely, “Capability as a Service” (CaaS) should be considered. The primary purpose of this layer is to support the capture and representation of the factors that are decisive for flexibility in business services. Starting from technological capabilities, more abstract operational and dynamic capabilities are created. Many companies face challenges in obtaining the benefits associated with effective strategic sourcing decision-making. Enterprise modeling can contribute to strategic sourcing decision-making by helping in the conceptualization, design and exploration of multiple strategic options for better decision-making. In this article, the authors explore a solution approach that refines the existing Enterprise Engineering (EE) modeling discipline into a Service-oriented Enterprise Engineering (SoEE) modeling discipline, by founding it on the novel application of the Viable Systems Approach (vSa) towards strategic (sourcing) decision-making. The proposed modeling discipline provides (1) the systemic viewpoints to interpret complex sourcing phenomena; and (2) the outside-box models to specify the value-driven interactions of an enterprise (as a system) with other actors. Finally, to operationalize the modeling discipline the authors introduce the conceptual basis (C.A.R.S) of a modeling language to apply the SoEE viewpoints and develop the related models for supporting strategic sourcing decision-making. In this article, the authors focus on changes that result from the analysis of information system risks and of their impacts on the services delivered by the enterprise. The authors present how the concepts of an information system risks management domain can be integrated into the ArchiMate enterprise architecture modelling language. This article approaches the conceptual integration in two design cycles: first, this article will consider information security risks, and then the authors generalize to information system risks. Additionally, the authors illustrate the application of the proposed approach and demonstrate the benefits of the integrated model through the handling of a case study, first in the domain of information security, and then in the domain of information privacy. This article is the first of its kind to relate public service to managing organizations that relate public service such as parks and police. It measures and implements maximin value functions. A maximin value function applies when the criteria are totally non-substitutable: a decrease in a critical criterion cannot be compensated for by an increase in another criterion. This article illustrates situations where a maximin value function is an appropriate model, develops a method to measure a decision maker's maximin value function, and demonstrates how a maximin value function can be used in applications such as park and police systems. The measurement technique is easy to understand and most decision makers can complete the process in a short period of time. For quantitative scheduling techniques found in journals, their wider use in applications has been declining due to a variety of obstacles. This article will first list a number of these obstacles and then suggest ways to overcome them. Parks and Police departments are government agencies that both have limited and competing resources. In these circumstances, it is an ideal situation to share the resources as much as possible. In this article, examples are shown of where the limited resources may occur in both agencies, and how the manager may overcome these problems by sharing the resources. Examples of affective and just sharing of resources are given for both parks and police departments. In Parks Management, affective trade-offs are shown among trim mowing, tractor mowing, garbage collection and ball-field dragging. This process applies various techniques and algorithms which have different levels of accuracy and precision. The purpose of this article is to apply data mining techniques to the diagnosis of asthma. Sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of K-nearest neighbor, Support Vector Machine, naive Bayes, Artificial Neural Network, classification tree, CN2 algorithms, and related similar studies were evaluated. ROC curves were plotted to show the performance of the authors' approach. Support vector machine SVM algorithms achieved the highest accuracy at 98.59% with a sensitivity of 98.59% and a specificity of 98.61% for class 1. Other algorithms had a range of accuracy greater than 87%. The results show that the authors can accurately diagnose asthma approximately 98% of the time based on demographics and clinical data. To reach these objectives, they should be highly engaged and motivated in the learning process. It has been argued that games can play a useful role in making the study of accounting more interesting, hence increasing motivation. The research presented in this paper explores the impact of learning in an introductory accounting course attributable to the use of games supplementary to the traditional teaching methods. The perceptions of 18 students and six faculties at a tertiary institution in the United Arab Emirates relating to the integration of games in an introductory accounting course were uncovered through semi structured interviews. Prior to the students being interviewed, they had been given the opportunity to play three different types of games in a controlled classroom. The exploratory research found that faculty and students believe that games can motivate students and maintain their enthusiasm and interest in learning in an introductory accounting course. However, faculty are generally not in a favour of introducing accounting concepts in introductory accounting course to students through games. They do agree that games should be used for practicing homework and as fillers in an introductory accounting course. The study accentuates that games are one of the motivational factors to maintain student's interest in the course consistently. This exploratory research will give an idea of innovative learning in the accounting class. This paper shows that both processes are experiencing degradation during mobility and that vehicular UEs suffer from call drops and loss of connections. Therefore, this work presents an effective technique using Mobile-Femtos to improve vehicular UEs' HO process and link quality. Results show that vehicular UEs attached to a Mobile-Femto achieved better signalling and Link Ergodic capacity and as a consequence the outage probability was reduced. The achieved results indicated that deploying Mobile-Femtos under 25dB Vehicular Penetration Loss (VPL) has improved the vehicular UE Link Ergodic capacity by 1% and reduced the signal outage probability by 1.8% compared to the eNB direct transmission. Consequently, Drop Calls Probability (DCP) and Block Calls Probability (BCP) have been reduced by 7% and 14% respectively compared to the direct transmission from the eNB.","PeriodicalId":151306,"journal":{"name":"Int.
