The population was set based on the current output areas and number of households in Gyeonggi-do by the National Statistics Office, and the sample was extracted into 10 layers considering region, gender, and age. \u0000The most common leisure activity for the elderly aged ≥65 years was rest (73.4%), and the percentage of respondents who performed activities alone (38.7%) without companions was the highest. The most frequent participation in leisure activities was “several times a week,” and the average leisure expenditure per session was 11,122 won. During the leisure activity period, most (98.9%) of the respondents were more than one year old , and the proportion of use of religious facilities and other facilities, such as open spaces, was high. Regarding satisfaction with leisure activities, the response rate for “general satisfaction” (58.0%) was the highest. The most desired leisure activity was tourism (28.9%), followed by hobby entertainment (23.35%), and rest (17.6%). Only 0.7% of the respondents participated in volunteer activities, and the reason for not participating that had the highest percentage of response is “not interested” (45.2%). In Gyeonggi-do, 99.3% of the smartphone or cell phone users did not have Internet access, and the utilization rates of text reception (93.3%) and transmission (83.1%) were the highest . The economic expenditure burden (3.41 points) was the most common factor interrupting leisure activities, followed by climate condition (3.34 points) and lack of time (2.92 points). \u0000Active leisure activities relieve loneliness in old age, improve physical and cognitive health, and help maintain social relationships. Considering the geographical and physical limitations of the elderly, it is necessary to consider an alternative for managing cognitive health through the development of leisure content using electronic devices. In addition, the motivation of the elderly and the development of leisure careers are necessary, along with the role of the public domain in designing various community-centered programs.","PeriodicalId":151251,"journal":{"name":"The Korean Society of Cognitive Therapeutic Exercise","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132500387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is a case report of two male children with developmental delay, and was conducted over 16 sessions. In the initial evaluation and re-evaluation, the patients underwent a sensory profile, a motor fitness test (Bruininks-Oseretsky test of Motor Proficiency-2), and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure. Both sensory integration function and motor development were evaluated. During the intervention period, vestibular-proprioceptive activities were alternately combined with bilateral coordination exercises or visual perception training and performed for 40 minutes each. The differences between the initial evaluation and re-evaluation results of each patient were analyzed. \u0000When sensory integration function and motor development results before and after the intervention were compared, the first patient demonstrated improvement in seven areas and the second in four areas in the sensory profile. The program aimed to help dementia patients play a role and participate in meaningful activities with others in a group and educate their caregivers so that the patients could carry out such activities continuously at home. Thirty-one local patients with dementia who visited the Dementia Prevention and Management Center in Y city, Gyeonggi-do, from July 2015 to October 2014 were enrolled in the program that was conducted once a week for 12 weeks and included in both pre- and post-assessments. The results of the preand post-assessments showed improvements in depression, self-esteem and quality of life for the patients with dementia, with changes in GDS (Geriatric Depression Scale) scores from 14.61±6.40 to 13.26±5.85, SES (Self-Esteem Scale) scores from 22.74±2.91 to 25.32±5.47 and QOL-AD (Quality of Life in Alzheimer's Disease) scores from 24.42±6.11 to 25.48±6.54 (p<0.01,). It was observed that continuous role provision and activity participation were effective in decreasing depression, and increasing both self-esteem and quality of life in patients with dementia residing in local communities. In December 2021, a focus group interview was conducted with eight new middle-aged people and the data were analyzed using the subject analysis technique. Four themes and eight sub-themes were derived from the analysis. The four themes were: Meaning of work started after retirement, Dementia that can happen to anyone but can be prevented by anyone, the changes I experienced in the people with dementia, and the skills needed to become a caregiver for patients with dementia by performing cognitive activities. Through experience analysis of the new middle-aged group, their potential as caregivers for people with dementia was verified.
