In December 2021, a focus group interview was conducted with eight new middle-aged people and the data were analyzed using the subject analysis technique. Four themes and eight sub-themes were derived from the analysis. The four themes were: Meaning of work started after retirement, Dementia that can happen to anyone but can be prevented by anyone, the changes I experienced in the people with dementia, and the skills needed to become a caregiver for patients with dementia by performing cognitive activities. Through experience analysis of the new middle-aged group, their potential as caregivers for people with dementia was verified.
