This variation could be harmless and controlable with the aid of medication but sometimes the bad anatomical situation requires operation. In this severe types, early diagnosis is very important. The aim of thid study was to teach medical students about coronary arteries’ anomalies. CASE REPORT: Through the thorax dissection sessions of a 57 years old man, we observed that the right coronary artery along with the left main coronary artery is originated from the left sinus of Valsalva. As it passed posteriorly to the aorta, it could have been pressed by the esophagus or the right auricle of the right atrium. CONCLUSION: This study showed that the right coronary artery arises from left sinus of Valsalva. ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Escherichia coli enterohemorrhagic (EHEC) causes diarrhea, hemolysis colitis, and uremic hemolytic syndrome. Due to the dangers of antibiotic treatment in the EHEC O157: H7 infection, vaccines offer a promising way to prevent infection. The purpose of this study was to investigate the immunity of recombinant proteins Intimin, EspA and Stx2b against infection of E. coli O157 H7. METHODS: In this research study, expression of recombinant Intimin, EspA and Stx2b proteins E.coli BL21 DE3 was induced with IPTG. Recombinant proteins were examined by Western Blot and purified using the affinity Ni-NTA chromatography. Subcutaneous and intraperitoneally immunization of mice was performed and the antibody titer was determined by ELISA. The mice were orally infected with bacteria and the bacterial loss and mortality of the mice were examined. FINDINGS: SDS-PAGE analysis showed expression of proteins with 11,17 and 34 kDa molecular weight. The recombinant proteins were confirmed by Western Blot. ELISA end point titer for humoral response to EspA, Intimin and Stx2b was 25600. The loss of bacteria in mice was 10 cfu / ml and mortality rate were reduced to 60 Percent. On the other hand, the effect of testosterone therapy on the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease is unknown. Therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of testosterone on haloperidol-induced extrapyramidal disorders. METHODS: In this experimental study, 60 male Wistar rats weighing 180–220 g were randomly divided into 10 groups of 6. Rats were intraperitoneally pretreated with saline, polyethylene glycol, flutamide (10 mg/kg) or testosterone (1 mg/kg) for 1 or 7 consecutive days and before administration of haloperidol. The effects of testosterone and flutamide on catalepsy and motor disorder caused by haloperidol were measured by bar test and rotarod test, respectively. FINDINGS: Haloperidol (1 mg/kg) significantly (p<0.004) resulted in catalepsy (170±17.25) and balance impairment (52±8). Pretreatment with testosterone for 7 days had a preventive effect on haloperidol-induced extrapyramidal disorders and improved catalepsy (55±8) (p<0.001) and balance impairment (178±8) (p<0.05) in mice, whereas co-administration of flutamide prevented the ameliorative effects of testosterone on extrapyramidal disorders. CONCLUSION: The results of the study showed that pretreatment with testosterone has a significant effect on the improvement of catalepsy. © 2018, Babol University of Medical Sciences. Ranjbar","doi":"10.18869/acadpub.jbums.20.7.14","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18869/acadpub.jbums.20.7.14","url":null,"abstract":"BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Paraquat is mainly used as an herbicide and its toxicity can be caused by acute and chronic liver disease by increasing the active oxygen species, in this study, we investigated the effect of N-acetyl cysteine and vitamin D on the oxidative toxicity of Liver tissue in sub-acute toxicity with paraquat. METHODS: In this experimental study, 36 male albino Wistar 8 weeks old were randomly divided into 6 groups: 1) control group; 2, 3) control animals received intraperitoneal injection of Vit D 2 µg/kg/day or NAC 6.25 mg/kg/day (IP); 4) received paraquat 5 mg/kg/day (IP); 5 and 6) received paraquat and treated with Vit D 2 µg/kg/day or NAC 6.25 mg/kg/day for 7 days. At the end of the study, serum and liver tissue were collected. Total antioxidant capacity (TAC), lipid peroxidation (LPO), total thiol groups (TTG), ALT and AST levels in liver tissue were evaluated. Also liver histopathological evaluation was performed. FINDING: Based on the results, in paraquat-poisoned groups compared to the healthy control group, the LPO was increased by 239.83±70.87 versus the control group 123.1±16.63 and the liver enzymes were increased. TAC in paraquatpoisoned groups was 68.66±23.41 that showed a significant decrease compared to the control group 126.50±18.25. Also, TTG in paraquat-poisoned groups was 40.50±5.95 that significantly decreased compared to control group (P<0.05). Moreover, LPO was significantly reduced in vitamin-treated groups 156.33±39.40 compared to the paraquat-poisoned group of 239.83±70.87. In addition, histopathologic findings showed that vitamin D could improve the tissue damage caused by paraquat in the liver. CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicated that Vit D and NAC decreased oxidative toxic stress, and tissue damage in the Liver caused by paraquat poisoning. © 2018, Babol University of Medical Sciences. Considering the importance of using natural anti-cancer drugs in treatment-resistant cancers such as prostate cancer, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of tricin on cell growth and proliferation and induction of apoptosis in human PC3 prostate cancer cell line. \u0000METHODS: In this experimental study, the PC3 cell line was prepared from the Pasteur Institute of Iran and cultivated. Extraction and purification of Tricin were performed using column chromatography and re-crystallization of Alliuum atrovoilaceum extract. The cytotoxic effect of Tricin in concentrations of 60,80,100,120, and 140 μM was evaluated by MTT method. Apoptotic effect was evaluated in the treated cell group with the IC50 concentration of Tricin and untreated cells (control group), using an Annexin-V kit and flow cytometry. \u0000FINDINGS: The viability of cells at different tricin concentrations were 85.66±1.52, 76±3.60, 66.33±4.16, 44±3.60, and 36.66±3.21, respectively (p<0.01). The IC50 concentration of tricin was 117.5±4.4 μM for PC3 cell line.
