Swarm intelligence-based optimization algorithms are usually used to solve complex problems for crowd behavior. Crowd simulations are often used for the analyses that require precision in different domains such as complex structural analysis, image recognition, creating nature-inspired non-player character movements in video games, and more. In this study, a generic crowd simulation framework that can be used to simulate already-available crowd simulation algorithms and design new ones was developed. The test environment layout was generated with the use of a generate-and-test algorithm combined with the crowd simulation algorithms to make sure that the generated content is meeting the requirements of a crowd simulation environment. Within the framework, three different crowd simulation algorithms —firefly algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and artificial bee colony— are generated and also implemented as puzzle-like video games. The results show that all fireflies achieved to gather at the global minimum of the generated layout faster and in a more precise way than the artificial bee colony algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm. The developed framework enables a generic and parametric testbed to design and compare different algorithms and to generate video games.","PeriodicalId":149663,"journal":{"name":"Mugla Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131823400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, the Hyers-Ulam and Hyers-Ulam Rassias stability of differential equations is fundemantal. Currently, researchers have used various methods (open mapping, direct method, integral factor, fixed point method) to research that the Hyers-Ulam Rassias and Hyers-Ulam stability of differential equations. The direct method has been succesfully apllied for investigate of the Hyers-Ulam Rassias stability of many different functional differential equations. But it does not enough for some important cases. The second most popular method is the fixed point method. In this study, we make an attemp to establish the Hyers-Ulam Rassias stability (HURS) of a new quadratic type functional equation (QFE) g({ + + + ) + g({ ) = 4g({) + g( + ) + g( + + 2) g({ ) g({ + ); by direct method and fixed point method. The advantages of self-compacting mortars like filling and passing ability without the need of vibration process and the superior properties of calcium aluminate cement like abrasion resistance, high thermal resistance, high acid resistance, and high early strength are intended to be combined. However, hydration process of calcium aluminate cement might cause strength reduction at later ages. Therefore, in order to prevent the possibility of strength reduction, several supplementary binders such as gypsum, fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag and silica fume were utilized in the mortar mixtures. In this sense, 11 different self-compacting mortars were produced, and those mortars were tested to obtain values of mini slump flow, setting time, abrasion resistance and 1, 2, 7, 28, and 90 day flexural and compressive strength. Test results showed that different supplementary binders exhibited different behaviors in mortar mixtures. As a conclusion, it was seen that the production of self-compacting mortar with calcium aluminate cement was possible.","PeriodicalId":149663,"journal":{"name":"Mugla Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131317583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, in order to catch the flights on time, passengers consider many factors to choose the transportation mode for airport access. Some of the factors are covariates, and they can be listed as age of the passenger, number of luggage carried, travel cost and travel time to the airport, group size of the passengers, and reliability of access modes. These covariates, may differ for each airport; and hence, in this paper, we investigated the differences of these covariates between Istanbul Ataturk International Airport (IST) and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW). Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc tests were conducted to investigate the covariates that affect the mode choice to access IST and SAW. The results indicated that these two airports have differences in terms of the effect of these selected six covariates on airport access mode choice. Reliability of the modes, travel time, travel cost, age of the passenger and traveling group size affected the mode choice to access IST. On the other hand, only reliability of the modes, travel time and travel cost had effects on airport access mode choice for SAW. Based on the analysis, some recommendations for the decision makers were also provided.","PeriodicalId":149663,"journal":{"name":"Mugla Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130062357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solid (SS), pH and temperature as the output parameters were estimated by five input parameters such as flow rate, COD, pH, SS and temperature. The ANN model was developed with 400 data sets for prediction of effluent pH, temperature, COD and SS. The benchmark tests were employed to achieve an optimum network algorithm. The network model with optimum functions at hidden and output layers were applied for the forecasts of effluent streams of both WWTPs. The regression values of training, validation and test using this function were found as 0.94, 0.96 and 0.95, respectively. The optimum neuron numbers were determined according to the minimum mean square error values. ANN testing outputs revealed that the model exhibited well performance in forecasting the effluent pH, temperature, SS and COD values.","PeriodicalId":149663,"journal":{"name":"Mugla Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130633186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

UV-vis, HR-TEM and SEM-EDS devices were used to characterize the EcAgNPs. The UV-visible spectrum of EcAgNPs showed surface plasmon resonance peak at 420 nm. HR-TEM images showed that the EcAgNPs were spherical with a diameter in the range 3.7-29.6 nm. Ag+ ions were reduced to Ago by phytochemicals in the without adding external reducing agent. The presence of biomolecules in the Ecs was investigated by UPLC-MS/MS that detected gallic acid (20.26±0.10 ppb) and quercetin (12.4±0.08 ppb) as major constituents. The antimicrobial activities of Ecs and synthesized EcAgNPs were tested on Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus strains and Candida albicans yeast. Ecs exhibited antimicrobial activity as MIC between 16.2 and 129.3 mg mL-1 while EcAgNP showed MIC between 6.31 and 14.65 µgmL-1. The cytotoxicity of both Ecs and EcAgNPs on A549, HT29 and MDA-MB-231 cancer cell lines was tested by MTT. Conventionally, HVAC systems adjust set-temperature to achieve thermal comfort by continuously measuring indoor air temperature of the environment. However, ASHRAE 55, a standard of acceptable thermal environments, offers to use acceptable ranges of operative temperatures in air-conditioned buildings. Considering operative temperature is a function of indoor air temperature and mean radiant temperature, set-temperature of HVAC system can be controlled by using operative temperature to satisfy neutral thermal comfort for the occupants. This study compares thermal comfort and energy consumption of two exactly same HVAC systems which are operated based on indoor air temperature and operative temperature, respectively. Two office rooms with same architectural configurations -which are located in a university-Ankara-Turkey- were selected as a case study. The HVAC systems were operated based on indoor air temperature and operative temperature, respectively, at the same time and occupancy schedules. The results showed that operative temperature driven controlled HVAC system achieves better thermal comfort while slightly increasing energy consumption. The main findings of this study would be useful not only to design energy-efficient HVAC systems but also create more comfortable environments.","PeriodicalId":149663,"journal":{"name":"Mugla Journal of Science and Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116867471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
