Their members have garnered attention in the French ethnic and anti-racist scene by virtue of their intellectual ambitions and the international alliances they forge, as well as their controversial views on Jews, Israel, and Zionism. This article focuses on the content of their public declarations about Jews and Israel from 2005 to 2020, which were made largely in response to terrorist attacks such as the murders at the Jewish school in Toulouse in 2012 and those at the Hyper Cacher grocery store in 2015.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132408647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Before embracing neo-Nazism, Rimland won acclaim within the Mennonite church—the Christian denomination in which she was raised—for her writings about women's hardships in the Soviet Union. Her debut novel, The Wanderers: The Saga of Three Women Who Survived (1977), reflected widespread efforts to position feminized Mennonite suffering as comparable to Jewish persecution under Nazism, coupled with silence about the role individual Mennonites played in the Holocaust. The church's male-dominated elite offered Rimland limited structural support as a female writer, however, and she struggled to sustain her literary career while raising a son with disabilities. Patriarchal constraints alongside Mennonite leaders' failure to address historic antisemitism helped allow her drift into white supremacy.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127383383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rensmann, Samuel Salzborn","doi":"10.2979/ANTISTUD.5.1.03","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2979/ANTISTUD.5.1.03","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract:The enduring legacy of Moishe Postone's work in the fields of intellectual history, sociology, and social theory also finds expression in his influential theory of modern antisemitism and its role in the Holocaust. Grounded in critical reflections on Marxian thought yet unconvinced by Marxist functionalism, Postone theorizes antisemitism primarily from the perspective of (a critique of) political economy. He conceptualizes modern antisemitism as a fetishized form of anti-capitalism that reifies and personifies the abstract features of modern capitalist society. In so doing, Postone founded a new, revised critical theory framework for the study of modern antisemitism and the origins of the Shoah. For Postone, the Holocaust ought to be understood as the violent attempt to destroy \"the abstract\"—all actual and perceived evils of modern society associated with it—by way of annihilating the Jews. This article critically reconstructs Postone's theory of antisemitism and situates it in its multi-faceted intellectual context. Moreover, the historical and contemporary meaning of Postone's analysis is discussed against the backdrop of its broader reception and critique. It is argued that Postone, limits of his theory notwithstanding, contributes to understanding the relevance and attraction of antisemitic views across various modern political, spatial, and societal contexts—on the Right, the Left, and beyond.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123130143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It explores the existing evidence for the cult of Dominguito before conducting a detailed analysis of the different extant versions of the narrative of Dominguito's martyrdom. The essential elements of these narratives are compared with those of other ritual murder narratives, as well as Marian legends circulating in medieval Europe, in order to trace the origins of the legend. Finally, this study examines the transformation of Dominguito's martyrdom narrative in Spain during the early twentieth century. It seeks to understand how the legend of Dominguito suddenly acquired a new element drawn from Northern European blood libel narratives: the allegation that Jews had ritually consumed the blood of Dominguito.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116537512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He repackages classic antisemitic beliefs for the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by cloaking them in a language of evolutionary psychology. His most important innovation is to reject The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as factual but retain them as a metaphor for Jewish anti-white activism. By arguing that it is Judaism itself as \"a group evolutionary strategy\" that leads Jews to tear down white society (European-derived Christian majority states in the Western world), he is able to present an image of the Jews akin to that of The Protocols, but one that obviates the need for any actual conspiracy. Once Jewish culture and genetics become the driving force of this effort to destroy white society, one only needs to show that individual Jews are acting on its behalf, not that they are conspiring together to do so.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127381052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They strive for pseudo-state, individual, and/or group-specific sovereignty. Authorities in Germany have only been systematically observing sovereignist groups for a few years. Since the founding of the Federal Republic in 1949, right-wing extremist sovereignist groups have been disseminating the idea that the state was part of a \"Jewish world conspiracy\" against the German volk. Their leaders not only advocate for the restoration of German sovereignty (as a German Reich or by establishing new German states), but also deny the Holocaust and want to liberate themselves from the \"New World Order.\" Based on the analysis of statements by key participants, this article demonstrates that antisemitism has been a central ideological element within German sovereignism.","PeriodicalId":148002,"journal":{"name":"Antisemitism Studies","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130614550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
