Squats performed with the correct kinesiological pattern can ensure optimal loading of the musculoskeletal system, affect the function of the diaphragm and thus breathing in addition to positively affect the pelvic floor muscles. On the contrary, in the case of insufficient coordination, we can detect a failure in thestabilization of individual segments.Aim: The aim of the study was to find out the difference in the quality of muscle involvement in two variants of squats. The first squat was natural for an athlete without the intervention of a therapist, and in the second one we tried to adjust theindividual segments biomechanically correctly. Methods: The group included 20 athletes, with an average age of 21.85 years. The measurement took place in the MSC Dukla Banska Bystrica building at a uniform time from 10:00AM to 12:30PM. We used a biomedical telemetry system with surface EMG. M. biceps femoris, m. semitendinosus, m. vastus medialis and m. erector spinae were measured.Results: The activity of the muscles on the back of the thigh showed lower average values after squat correction by physiotherapist instructions (significant in one case). Differences in activity of all muscles: m. biceps femoris dx (p = 0.16005), sin (p = 0,00268), m. semitendinosus dx (p = 0.838), sin (p = 0.0852). m. vastus medialis dx (p= 0.35), sin (p = 0.0066), m erector spinalis dx (p = 0.118), sin (p = 0.0632).Conclusion: Our measurements showed that the correction of individual segments to the correct biomechanical position was statistically confirmed in two cases (vastus medialis sin. and m. biceps femoris sin.), But from a practical point of view we recorded a positive effect on average muscle activity. and overall squat execution efficiency.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24040/sjss.2021.7.1.37-47","PeriodicalId":147905,"journal":{"name":"Slovak Journal of Sport Science","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115976084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous researchsuggests that slacklining training improves postural stability and concentration. This systematic review aimed to analyze and synthesize the evidence on the efficacy of slackline training on elements of physical fitness (jump performance and balance maintenance) compared with conventional training. Methods: From a total of 16 records, 5 studies met the inclusion criteria for qualitative analysis. At the end of the process, 3 studies remained for quantitative analysis. Results: We assessed improvements in jump performance (SMD = 1.05; CI 95% 0.17 to 1.92 I2 = 53%) in favor of slackline training compared to the conventional trainings. No significant differences were found between Slackline and conventional training for learning balance maintenance in tandem position (SMD = -0.10 CI 95%-0.63 to 0.42 I2 = 0%), standing on the left leg (SMD = -0.33 CI 95% -1.31 to 0.65 I2 = 70%) and on the right leg (SMD = -0.44 CI 95% -1.71 to 0.82 I2 = 81%). Conclusions: The results of this study suggests the efficacy of slackline training and its application for jump performance in healthy young adults.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24040/sjss.2021.7.1.25-36","PeriodicalId":147905,"journal":{"name":"Slovak Journal of Sport Science","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129371551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To determine the range of general and special training indicators and what impact they had on the performance of the monitored racer. Objectives: The case study aims to analyze and compare two annual training cycles of a 400 m hurdles runner based on general and special training indicators and their impact on sports performance. Results: In the second season, the racer ran more acceleration and maximum speed, which contributed to the improvement of personal records. She completed a volumeof speed endurance of 18 km, which was an increase of 6 km, and she completed a special endurance of 32 km, where there was an increase of 8 km compared to the first season. The accumulated volume of kilometers of tempo endurance isapproximately the same in both monitored years. In the second season, it is possible to see an increase in the volume of general endurance by 40 km. It is also possible to record an increase in the volume of kilometers in the second season by 4 km. During the first season, the racer ran 780 kilometers and in the next season, there was an increase of 52 kilometers.Conclusion: Based on the findings, the author concluded that the 400 m hurdles run has been largely influenced by the number of units of training which influenced also the overall range of special training indicators and by the improvement of the hurdles crossing technique - maximum and acceleration speed, general, tempo, special and speed endurance.DOI: https://doi.org/10.24040/sjss.2021.7.1.4-12","PeriodicalId":147905,"journal":{"name":"Slovak Journal of Sport Science","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125749616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the field of volleyball, it is imperative to identify the anthropometric constitution, where the amount ofsubcutaneous adipose tissue plays a significant role. The study included 18 active players of the women's volleyball club Jahorina from Pale (BH=173±8.77cm;BW=66.04±9.09kg; BMI=22.03±2.19kg/m2, age=19.11±2.63), a member of thevolleyball Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the main goal to analyze and determine the percentage of adipose fat as an indicator of physical status. Yuhasz skinfold test (Biceps skinfold, Triceps skinfold, Subscapular skinfold, Suprailiac skinfold, Abdomen skinfold, Front thigh skinfold, Rear thigh skinfold) was applied to assess skin folds. Measurements were performed with a skin fat measuring instrument (Caliper GIMA-model Plicometro, Italy) in accordance with the ISAK protocol. Statistical data processing included central and dispersion parameters andPearson's correlation coefficients. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that 30% of significant ICC p<,05;p<0,01;p<0,001 were achieved. The percentage of skin folds of Jahorina volleyball players in body weight is 16.16% (12 kg), and body fat mass is 54.04 kg. Based on the obtained results, the amount of adipose tissue can be concluded that our sample is within the allowed values recommended for this population, and that amount is lower compared to previous research.\u0000DOI: https://doi.org/10.24040/sjss.2021.7.1.64-74","PeriodicalId":147905,"journal":{"name":"Slovak Journal of Sport Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131201982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
