This study investigated work ability and sick leave within one year after diagnosis, as well as the impact of rehabilitation and psycho-oncological measures on employment outcomes.</p><p><strong>Patients and methods: </strong>In this monocentric, prospective, observational cohort study, 221 patients (62.4% females), aged 19-65, participated. 78.5% had tumor stage IB or lower at baseline. Routine clinical documentation, occupational history, work ability, subjective prognosis of employment, need for and satisfaction with rehabilitation measures were repeatedly assessed.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>181 patients (82%) were employed at first visit, 172 (78%) at last visit. Approximately 75% of patients initially rated work ability as \"moderate\", with up to 9 sick leave days. In the following year, sick days increased significantly in patients with stage IB and IIA (p = 0.044) and highly significantly in patients with stage II B and above (p < 0.001). Psycho-oncologic consultation (24%) and rehabilitation (18%) did not change the significantly worse self-rated work ability of these patients.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Melanoma affects work ability, even in tumor stages without lymph node involvement or distant metastasis. During this period, all VLS patients were asked to be examined in their oral cavities in order to detect any possible sign of oral diseases, which were then biopsied.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Three hundred women (mean age 64.5 ± 13.0 years) were included, of whom 21 (7%) had a concurrent extragenital LS. In six (2%) patients, white, non-removable lesions were found at oral inspection and biopsied. All cases were histologically lichen planus. No other clinically relevant oral lesions were found. The six women with histologically proven oral lichen planus had more frequent periodontal and autoimmune diseases than the other included subjects.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Our findings confirm the absolute rarity of oral involvement in patients with VLS. Despite advances in diagnosis and therapy, treatment is still unsatisfactory. Telemedicine offers a promising solution to improve treatment. This pilot study assesses the acceptability and utilization of a digital health model for CSU, examines its impact on disease management, and identifies technical challenges.</p><p><strong>Patients and methods: </strong>In this prospective pilot study, CSU patients at a university hospital in Germany were included. Over 12 months, participants interacted with physicians via a telemedicine platform, which was the study-specific intervention. After each three-month digital visit, symptoms and quality of life were assessed using electronic patient reported outcomes (ePROs) and online questionnaires. In the end, patients and doctors rated the overall satisfaction, the user-friendliness of the platform and the technical challenges.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>24 patients completed the study. The majority (92%) reported that the digital concept could be a promising alternative to traditional consultations. Analysis from baseline to end of study revealed that disease control remained stable while quality of life improved. All physicians found the digital application reliable and time-saving.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>This pilot study demonstrates the feasibility and high acceptance of a digital health model for the management of CSU. However, there is no evidence on the impact of this disease in terms of sexual dysfunction (SD). The aim of the present study was to assess the prevalence of SD and possible associated factors in a cohort of patients with AA.</p><p><strong>Patients and methods: </strong>A cross-sectional study was conducted in a cohort of AA patients matched with healthy controls. Sexual function was assessed using a numerical scale and gender-specific questionnaires.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 60 patients with AA and 60 healthy controls were included. The prevalence of SD was higher in women with AA than in healthy controls and in men with AA (p < 0.05). Female SD was associated with younger age, shorter duration of illness and higher rates of anxiety and depression (p < 0.05). Male SD was associated with older age and greater severity of AA (p < 0.05).</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Women with AA appear to have higher rates of SD than healthy controls and men with AA.
