Follow-up data for high-ligation and stripping (HL/S) of the great saphenous vein (GSV) are quite heterogenous and incoherent. This prospective multicentric study was designed to elucidate the outcome after standardized HL/S with special focus on same site groin recurrences.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Patients and Methods</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>A standardized HL/S of the GSV, including closure of the cribriform fascia, was performed. The primary endpoint was same-site groin recurrence, assessed by clinical examination and duplex ultrasonography. Secondary endpoints were recurrences at different sites.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>405 patients (519 legs) from six German vein centers were included. 225 patients (287 legs, 55.56%) were available for the five-year follow up examination. 21 legs (7.32%) suffered from clinically apparent varicosis. Same site groin recurrences were detected in five (1.74%) cases, of which only two were clinically relevant. Die Lebensqualität ist noch häufiger beeinträchtigt und wird auch in pharmakologischen Studien als therapeutisches Ergebnis berücksichtigt.&lt;span&gt;&lt;sup&gt;5&lt;/sup&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Eine verminderte gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität (HRQoL) korreliert jedoch nicht unbedingt mit dem Schweregrad der Erkrankung, was ebenfalls dazu beitragen kann, dass die psychische Belastung der Patienten im somatischen Kontext oft nicht die angemessene Aufmerksamkeit erhält.&lt;span&gt;&lt;sup&gt;6&lt;/sup&gt;&lt;/span&gt; Anstatt Unterstützung bei der Bewältigung ihrer Krankheit zu erhalten, fühlen sich Patienten oft stigmatisiert. The survey covered the use of and attitudes towards telemedicine, DiGA and LLMs, as well as competence assessments and education needs.</p><p><b>Results</b>: 100 dermatologists participated (64% female, average age 40.6 years). 58% stated that they did not currently offer telemedicine services; only 5% regularly used video consultations. 21% had already prescribed DiGA, with the majority (78%) seeing this as the responsibility of general practitioners. 96% of dermatologists believed that DiGA could improve medical care. The main barriers cited were lack of knowledge (76%), lack of time (74%), insufficient remuneration and a complex prescription process (43% each). 45% of respondents had used LLMs in a professional context. 76% rated the impact of digitalization on patient care as positive, and 80% expressed a desire for training opportunities on the use of digital technologies in everyday medical practice.</p><p><b>Conclusion</b>: Digitalization and, in particular, DiGA are viewed positively by most dermatologists, but digital services are hardly used at present. We conducted a comprehensive review of clinical trials published between January 2000 and August 2025. 41 studies were included, exploring the use of beta-blockers for any dermatological conditions, involving over 4,000 people worldwide. Our findings show strong evidence that beta-blockers are the first-line treatment for infantile hemangiomas. Additionally, they reduce mortality in patients with burns, accelerate wound healing in chronic venous and diabetic ulcers, and improve skin graft donor sites. Emerging data suggest benefits in rosacea, pyogenic granulomas, post‑procedural erythema, and as an adjunct to immune checkpoint inhibitors in melanoma, alongside a favorable safety profile in clinical trials. However, beta‑blockers can exacerbate inflammatory dermatoses, may interfere with the management of anaphylaxis, and exert complex effects on cutaneous immunity. Treatment is often inconsistent and not guideline-compliant. The project Ulcus Cruris Care investigated the VLU outpatient care situation in Germany.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Patients and methods</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>Reimbursement data of 40,046 patient cases (2015–2019) with VLU diagnosis from a statutory health insurer (AOK Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) were retrospectively analyzed. Outcome assessment was based on prescriptions, medical aids, nursing care, use of compression devices, surgical procedures and treatment costs.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Results</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>47.3% (n  =  7,581) of patients without contraindication received a compression device within 90 days. 2.3% (n  =  135) received surgical truncal vein interventions. 14.1% (n  =  771) received consistent compression therapy associated with faster wound healing (121.6 ± 86.2 vs. 188.1 ± 164.2 days, p &lt; 0.001), lower total costs (4,280 ± 5,326 € vs. 5,683 ± 9,657 €, p &lt; 0.001) and lower disease-specific costs (2,498 ± 2,785 € vs. 2,797 ± 5,145 €, p  =  0.017) versus no or unsteady treatment.</p>\u0000 </section>\u0000 \u0000 <section>\u0000 \u0000 <h3> Conclusions</h3>\u0000 \u0000 <p>In outpatient VLU care around 80% of patients do not receive consistent compression therapy and are therefore not adequately treated.
