By using postcolonial perspective, this research nails its analysis. The approach used in this research is library research with postcolonial approach. The data are the selected lyrics of Didi Kempot’s songs, they are Cidro, Tatu, Suket Teki, Pamer Bojo, and Sewu Kutho. The technique of data collection is documenting and the technique data analysis is interpretation. The result shows that Didi Kempot’s Campursari songs affirm the submissive way of loving. Cidro represents inferiority, Tatu represents surrender, Suket Teki represents inferiority, Pamer Bojo represents betrayal, and Sewu Kutho represents surrender. Those broken love defines Javanese identity which is seen submissive (dominated), but simultaneously, it also exposes a deconstructive point that loving is releasing, and releasing shows non-dominated side.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"17 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research aims to find out the textual practices of the discourse of the two online media as information tools that can influence readers' opinions of a discourse. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through a three-dimensional theoretical approach from Fairclough. Analysis of the object of research through three stages of analysis, description, interpretation and explanation. The results of the text analysis show that the two news media have different content. cnnindonesia.com seems to be answering the public's question mark about the reasons for PDIP as the only party that seems confident in supporting a closed proportional election system in the 2024 election. Through this system the chairman of the party absolutely appoints cadres in parliament. Meanwhile, news.detik.com's reporting places more emphasis on the possible impact that will be experienced by the PDIP and its implications for political developments in Indonesia if the system is implemented in the upcoming elections. From the two reports, there is a difference in the focus of representation and the purpose of the news. The conclusion is that the context of the media and the context of the communication situation appear to have a significant effect on determining the meaning of speech in online news media.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"35 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Claire Legrand’s Some Kind of Happiness tells us about Finley Hart, an eleven years old child, who visits her estranged grandparents because her parents have problems leading to divorce. With a lot of mental problems faced by the character, this study wants to analyze how four basic needs build self-actualization. researcher collects the data from character Finley Hart in the novel Some Kind of Happiness with general inductive approach. This method enables researcher to dig significant data about Finley’s psychology over general condition in the story. Researcher also uses hierarchy of human needs theory by Abraham Maslow. This theory provides a structural explanation about basic human needs, self-actualization, and its benefit. From the study, researcher finds that every basic needs are important and supports each other in order to bring self-actualization. Self-actualization itself is crucial for it bring contentment to oneself. With the benefit of self-actualization, Finley has become a better and happier person. It proves that basic needs and self-actualization are essential for broken-home children.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"16 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various crimes in the cyber world, including hoaxes and infodemics, are something that cannot be avoided. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the rise of hoax and infodemic news made the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia more complex. Many people are victims of hoaxes which in the end take action against government policies related to Covid-19, such as reluctance to comply with health protocols and rejection of vaccination programs. This research contributes to studying the challenges of digital transformation in Indonesia, especially during the past Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this paper is a case study. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews from Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, literature studies, both from books, journals and scientific articles. The results of this study indicate that digital transformation has encouraged the growth of hoaxes and infodemics which have hampered efforts to deal with Covid-19. The Indonesian government needs to take structured actions in dealing with this hoax and infodemic, and make regulations to optimize the digital transformation process.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"16 S1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ahmed Yerima’s Otaelo has a considerable volume of pragmatically salient emotional themes. Aspects of the theories of speech acts, modified Odebunmi’s adapted model of pragmeme and emotionology, considered capable of addressing linguistic forms and functions and expression of emotion were adopted. The findings revealed that themes of emotional satisfaction and perturbation are found in Otaelo. Emotional satisfaction, incorporating love, assurance, appreciation and admiration, are indexed in the text. Emotional perturbation covers fear, anger, rejection, deception, conflict, disparagement and regret. The paper concludes that Ahmed Yerima’s Otaelo thematised emotional satisfaction and perturbation through salient locutions, thereby contributing to the increasing works on pragmatics.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"16 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study implements forensic linguistics by comparing data sources on the audio of Lesti (L) and Rizky Billar (RB) to ensure the originality of the sounds. The Speaker Profiling method with aural-perception analysis is used because there is no valid comparative evidence, so the audio comparison is taken from the L and RB platforms published to the public. This research resulted in two different aspects of each audio: phonetics and acoustics. These two aspects show the two audio sources' differences in pronunciation, emphasis, frequency, and tone. As a result, the vote is identified as a hoax. This research can demonstrate the use of software to help identify individual language profiles; it contributes to the development of applied linguistics, especially as a legal aid tool. Researchers hope that there will be further research from other linguists that will address more benefits of using AI / Corpus technology as a linguistic analysis tool, both with spoken and written data.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"20 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135679172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The very dichotomy micro–macro refers to a dualist opposition between “individual” and “organizational” which has been criticized as static and irrelevant. This critique has prompted many organization scholars to look for a more relational and dynamic perspective, abandoning the traditional view of organizations as structures and replacing it with a dynamic view of organizations as organizing processes that continuously adapt the relationships between actors, artefacts and situations. But the theoretical frameworks available to study organizations must then be thoroughly revised. This chapter examines the potential contribution of the pragmatist concept of trans-action to a processual and relational approach to organizations. It applies this approach to the analysis of a merger between two large retailers and its concrete impact on ordinary logistic tasks, for example loading and unloading pallets. Controversies do not only lead to new work methods, but also to an emergent and radical redefinition of the situation and of its participating entities, including human actors. Apart from a deep renewal of organizational theory, the trans-actional framework supports research methods based on exploratory inquiries that involve field actors and researchers as co-inquirers.","PeriodicalId":14746,"journal":{"name":"John Dewey and the Notion of Trans-action","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74546792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
