Particular attention is paid to the representation of the binary opposition “masculine-feminine”, which can be traced in the art of the two macro-regions. The article describes Indian tabla and nagara drums, examines their genesis and etymology of names and references to these instruments in the ancient treatise tradition. The most important membranophones of the Southeast Asian region are the Cambodian skor thom, the Thai clong hak, the Vietnamese trong nha and the Indonesian kendang. The example of paired drums reveals intercultural connections in the musical instrumentation of the two regions-civilizations.","PeriodicalId":146899,"journal":{"name":"Culture. Art. The premiere took place on February 7, 1900. The idea of the ballet “Les saisons” (The Seasons) belonged to Ivan Vsevolozhsky. The scriptwriter and choreographer was a famous French choreographer Marius Ivanovich Petipa (1818-1910). The article indicates various opinions of critics and musicologists about Glazunov’s ballet, such as M.A. Ganina, B.V. Asafiev, as well as the statements of other composers: P.I. Tchaikovsky, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. Indeed, the ballet “The Seasons” is one of the composer’s brightest which worthy of its place in the repertoire of many theaters. At present, the music for the ballet is more often performed in concert rather than choreographed.","PeriodicalId":146899,"journal":{"name":"Culture. Art. The process of learning a piece by heart should contain a comprehensive approach. The article describes methods and techniques for successful memorization of musical material. N. Medvedeva proves that the methods and ways of memorizing a music text are closely connected with the disclosure of the composer’s idea, with the structure of the musical form. Relying on such knowledge, the ultimate goal - learning the work in a short time - is achieved. Such meaningful and concentrated work, with a rational use of time, will greatly facilitate the process.","PeriodicalId":146899,"journal":{"name":"Culture. Art. The study highlights the activities of the first domestic female conductors (E. Slavinskaya, O. Berg, V. Dudarova, M. It is considered through the prism of memories of Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky and biographical episodes of Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev. The analysis of the sources reveals the complexity of the relationship between the creative composers. For more than twenty years they were quite uneven and sometimes conflictual. If at the beginning of joint activities Diaghilev took a leading position in the relationship, then later the situation changed. This fact led to conflict and alienation between them. Nevertheless, Igor Fyodorovich understood the greatness of Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev in the history of culture and his own life.","PeriodicalId":146899,"journal":{"name":"Culture. Art.
