There have been various efforts carried out in this field, particularly focused on using recordings of web user interactions with websites. In this context, our research focuses on developing a novel approach for web prediction and recommendation. The proposed method relies on hierarchical session clustering by sequence similarity measure and takes advantage of access activity time and access position in prediction session to make a recommendation. The performed experiments reveal that hierarchical parameter and prediction accuracy are relevant. In addition, the paper introduces cost estimation to adapt web visitor behavior to web business purposes using prediction ansd recommendation results.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128096270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose a payoff-based dynamic segment replication policy called P-DSR which instead of replicating the entire video file, it divides it into several segments then selects the segments with the highest payoff which can rebalance load faster and consequently reduces rejection rate and improve the system response time. Achieved results prove that our approach reach the desired aim even with a low number of segments.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116110476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The detection however doesn't rely on the information of devices that explicitly detect human presence, like motion detectors or smart cameras. The information used is the one available in the Muzzley system, which is a mobile application that allows the monitoring and control of several types of devices from a single program. The provided information was anonymized at the source. The first step was to extract adequate features for this problem. A labeling step is introduced using a combination of heuristics to assert the likelihood of anyone being home at a given time, based on all information available, including, but not limited to, direct presence detectors. The solution rests mainly on the use of supervised learning algorithms to train models that detect the presence without any information based on direct presence detectors. The model should be able to detect patterns of usage when the owner is at home rather than rely only on direct sensors. Results show that detection in this context is difficult, but we believe these results shed some light on possible paths to improve the system's accuracy.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128937165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Emergency management systems may take advantage of such integration and better support human operators in the development of Situational Awareness (SAW) for decision-making. The critical and dynamic nature of real emergency scenarios impose challenges to reveal, integrate and derive useful information for decision processes. The problem increases when humans are the main source of data, leading to information quality issues, such as imprecision, inconsistency and uncertainty. Current syntactical-only fusion approaches are limited regarding the assessment of situational meaning and human language nuances. Semantic models help to describe and to apply relationships among entities that may be useful for a net centric fusion and Situation Assessment (SA) routines. The objective of this paper is to present advances towards a new semantic fusion approach supported by information quality inferences and semantic web concepts to improve the SA about emergency situations and hence supporting SAW. For such, a new architecture is presented to integrate objects and situation assessment approaches by syntactical and semantic means. A previous fusion approach based on a syntactic integration with quality indexes is used to illustrate the improvements on information fusion results with the semantic models.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131059899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This shift from traditional self-controlled databases to heterogeneous, autonomous web services can be increasingly seen among small and medium scale enterprises. Enterprises dependent on web services require a generic approach to integrate with multiple web services. The classical mediation approach from the data integration field provides a uniform query interface to diverse data sources hiding the underlying heterogeneity, but its utilization with current generation web services API has several research and industrial challenges which will be described in this article.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128043587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, today's P2P distribution systems are severely abused by illegal re-distributions, which not only result in heavy financial losses to the media industry, but also hinders the legal commercial use of P2P content distribution systems. Thus, in order to counteract the threat of illegal re-distribution of media files over P2P systems, the media industry has sought protection from technological solutions, which are designed to prevent copyright infringement. However, the incorporation of the content protection techniques within P2P systems poses serious privacy threats to end users. Although the privacy desired by a P2P user typically includes anonymity and unlinkability, complete anonymity cannot be provided to him/her since it creates a conflict between the basic starting points of preserving interests of the content provider and protecting the privacy rights of the user. Various researchers have examined the challenges characterizing these systems from diverse viewpoints, proposing strategic solutions. This paper presents a survey of integration components (i.e. content protection and privacy-preservation techniques) and recent proposals of P2P content distribution systems that incorporates both integrants. In addition, different challenges and open research issues are pointed out.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121821553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper verifies stability of one triad type that is commonly perceived as transient and unstable, on Instagram subgraph, reconstructed by a specific crawling algorithm. Dynamics of that triad transition has been examined, wrt. degrees of that triad nodes and other basic structural properties of the triad neighborhood. Results show that the triad transition can be modeled as rate equation of order 2, and that it is fairly independent of any of the considered factors. A complete model of dynamics of triads can be further used in graph evolution forecasting, including phenomena like opinion spread or group forming, which may, in turn, affect real-life situations.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114064658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, both research documents and context information are called “research information”. This research information can be effectively managed and shared in a visual manner on the system. In collecting research information, the members' workload must be reduced as much as possible. In addition, to better share research information, it should be able to be visualized quickly without stress. Therefore, this paper describes a research information collection and sharing method developed by introducing attribute graph grammar. Specifically, this paper presents a research information collection method that can deal with various research activities and reduce members' workload for collecting information by introducing a research information relations graph (RIRG) and generating RIRG based on the production of the attribute graph grammar. In addition, this paper describes a method for effectively drawing RIRG by using a semantic rule of the attribute graph grammar. Finally, this paper introduces a research information collection and sharing support system (ResearchView) using this method.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114606724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
