Specifically, we present a multidimensional modeling solution, named Unified Cube, which provides a single, comprehensive representation of data from multiple sources. Unified Cubes include both concepts close to business terms and user-friendly graphical notations. An implementation framework is proposed to enable unified analyses of warehoused data and LOD. The feasibility of the proposed concepts is illustrated with examples based on real-world datasets.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125095080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this HLA is to serve as a reference for the development of industrial wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs) based on the concept of the DEWI Bubble. The DEWI Bubble is defined here as a high-level abstraction of an industrial WSAN with enhanced interoperability (via standardized interfaces), technology reusability, and cross-domain development. This paper details the design criteria used to define the HLA and the organization of the infrastructure internal and external to the DEWI Bubble. The description includes the different perspectives, models or views of the architecture: the entity model, the layered model, and the functional view model (including an overview of interfaces). The HLA constitutes an extension of the ISO/IEC SNRA (sensor network reference architecture) towards the support of industrial applications. To improve interoperability with existing approaches the DEWI HLA also reuses some features from other standardized technologies and architectures. The HLA will allow networks with different industrial sensor technologies to exchange information between them or with external clients via standard interfaces, thus providing a consolidated access to sensor information of different domains. This is an important aspect for smart city applications, Big Data and internet-of-things (IoT).","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115835262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the aeronautics industry, wireless has recently gained preference for on-board systems that conventionally used only cables. Recent interference and reliability studies with state-of-the-art standards suggest the feasibility of a relatively new research area that has been called wireless avionics intra-communications (WAICs). This paper presents a non-exhaustive survey of efforts in this emerging area. The objective is to identify topics, design issues, and synergies with other fields. The design of WAICs resembles some aspects of networks on ground, but it also adds some particular issues that remain to be addressed. This paper attempts to identify design issues of WAICs that range from physical-layer to application and security layers. Structure health monitoring, bus communications, control/sensing, and cable replacement, are examples of applications of WAICs.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122346639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the fact that an IS can manage data with an adequate level of quality should be a basic requirement for all organizations. In order to reach this basic requirement some aspects and elements related with data quality (DQ) should be taken in account from the earliest stages of development of software applications, i.e. “data quality by design”. Since DQ is considered a multidimensional and largely context-dependent concept, managing all specific requirements is a complex task. The main goal of this paper is to introduce a specific methodology, which is aimed to identifying and eliciting DQ requirements coming from different viewpoints of users. These specific requirements will be used as normal requirements (both functional and non-functional) during the development of IS awareness of data quality.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"162 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132725553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Audio content has some advantages over written text and video. Yet, apart from music playlists, little previous work has been performed on customizing audio content, i.e. speech-music playlist generation. The presented work makes a number of recommendations for speech-music playlist generation based on the program of broadcast radio channels. Nearly twenty thousand hours of audio content of twenty broadcast radio channels from four countries have been analyzed. Speech, music and mixed blocks were recognized automatically. The resulting data was analyzed for general statistics over the three types of audio blocks, for typical transitions and also for weekly and daily patterns. The paper also draws conclusions for customized speech-music playlist generation.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127343982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existence of C2C social commerce on Facebook and other social media networks requires the use of electronic service quality (e-SQ) instruments. The aim of this paper is to apply the existing e-SQ measures to the context of C2C s-commerce in Thailand. A pilot test study was conducted on Facebook users to test the applicability of the scale. The results revealed five service quality dimensions which could be useful to sellers (Facebook users) in Thailand. The Thai scale offers an aggregate measure of seller's service quality on Facebook. However, there is no work that has dealt with changes to advanced concepts of XML Schemas like XML namespaces, local/global qualified/unqualified declarations, and schema definition styles. In this paper, we deal with XML namespace evolution. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to study such a topic (and in an environment that supports schema versioning). More precisely, we propose an approach for managing changes to XML namespaces defined in XML Schemas, and their effects on XML documents that are valid to these schemas, while keeping track of all XML schema and XML instance versions.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114421405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the accuracy on data relationships in a representation becomes one of the most crucial aspects to perform business knowledge discovery. A tool that allows to model and visualize information relationships between data is CoDe, which by processing several queries on a data-mart, generates a visualization of such data. However on a large data warehouse, the computation of these queries increases the response time by the query complexity. A common approach to speed up data warehousing is precompute a set of materialized views, store in the warehouse and use them to compute the workload queries. In this paper, we define a process exploiting the CoDe modeling to determine the minimal number of required OLAP queries and to mitigate the problem of view selection, i.e., select the optimal set of materialized views. The results of an experiment on a real data warehouse show an improvement in the range of 62–98% with respect the approach that does not consider materialized views, and 5% wrt. an approach that exploits them.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123815267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The media equation posits that human-agent interaction mirrors the social cues prevalent in human-to-human relationship. As such, personality adaptation-convergence (similarity-attraction) and divergence (complementary-attraction) in human-agent interaction have been explored, particularly in the context of e-commerce, robot and scenario-based simulation. The present work extends prior studies by investigating personality adaptation in learner-agent interaction with respect to a virtual learning system. Pursuant to this goal, an introverted and an extroverted pedagogical agent were developed, as operationalized through vocal and animation parameters, and were then assessed by forty introverted and forty extraverted learners in a 2 (agent personality type) X 2 (learner personality type) experiment. The results of this study provided clear evidences in support of the complementary-attraction principle; emotional and motivational aspects of learning were significantly enhanced when the pedagogical agent exhibited personality (extraversion type) that complemented the learner's own. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":146662,"journal":{"name":"2016 Eleventh International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122674575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
