Enterprises need to respond quickly to the needs of their customers and stakeholders and by adopting agile practices in IT teams, business value is raised in both performance and quality, so it is important to adopt practices and models that ensure the time, scope and cost of a project are achieved successfully. This paper presents a hybrid effort estimation model that uses a story point approach with machine learning techniques to estimate completion time and total cost of a project that is developed with agile methods like Scrum. The main machine learning technique used to implement the project is the k-Nearest Neighbors algorithm (KNN), its learning capabilities are assessed through 10-Fold cross validation and the estimates are compared with the original dataset and the results obtained from literature to show that estimates are competitive. The proposed approach uses category size labels that improve the original estimation model based on linear regression. The research uses 21 projects developed by six software houses, and training is done on a set created from a technique called data augmentation that generates 42 projects with a small amount of noise. Completion time is measured in days and total cost is valued in Pakistan rupees. All the results are evaluated through accuracy, Mean Squared Error, Mean Relative Error, variance and coefficient of determination.","PeriodicalId":145622,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Mexican International Conference on Computer Science (ENC)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125012802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, in a ventriculostomy, planning of two main aspects is necessary: the optimal puncture trajectory and the optimal positioning of the catheter tip within a cerebral ventricle for cerebrospinal fluid drainage. Having this in mind, it is key that the puncture is safe and effective so that any postoperative risk can be reduced. In this work, a model based on augmented reality for the ventriculostomy procedure is presented, providing neurosurgeons with an intuitive method for acquiring surgical skills. The technical structure of the model is comprised of software that allows navigation and visualization of anatomical models based on computed tomography (CT) studies of a clinical case in association with virtual references projected onto the 3D printed patient model.","PeriodicalId":145622,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Mexican International Conference on Computer Science (ENC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129608967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This procedure is considered complex, and the medical students believe they have not enough experience and confidence to perform it. That is the reason why some researchers are interested in proposing to create solutions to provide a better training of this procedure. This review aims to present a comparison between 10 virtual lumbar puncture simulators developed since 2000, where nine of them use a haptic device to represent a realistic procedure. In addition, the physical and virtual components are discussed, including the haptic device, the haptic algorithm, the virtual environment and the evaluations of the simulators. The contribution of this review is to recognize the limitations and strengths to identify some optimal requirements for the design, development, or selection of the software/hardware for the next generation of virtual lumbar puncture simulators.","PeriodicalId":145622,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Mexican International Conference on Computer Science (ENC)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131486831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, it is essential to know the behavior of the attack when handling a signal. The discordant size content replacement attack is a very severe attack against audio watermarking schemes. This attack replaces a set of samples of an audio signal with another collection of samples of different sizes. This study presents two mathematical models that describe the discordant size content replacement attack using different approaches: matrix representation and decimation, and interpolation. Each model includes content replacement attacks of equal, larger, and smaller sizes. Evaluations are carried out with different degrees of manipulation. The objective is to obtain a mathematical description that analyzes the behavior of the attack on an audio signal, and use the models to design self-restorable schemes of audio signals that are robust against this attack. The models showed proper functioning in their evaluations.","PeriodicalId":145622,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Mexican International Conference on Computer Science (ENC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133653879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional recommender algorithms process explicit information where the user indicates which movies he/she liked on the platform. However, implicit information like the user's visual attention adapted to personal interests may lead to better personalized recommendations. This has motivated the development and innovation of movie recommendation systems. Hence, we propose a novel recommendation algorithm based on the user's visual attention. The algorithm was implemented on a digital platform named Poppukōn where the movies are presented on the platform according to different recommendations like genre, ratings by likes and stars and two based on eye tracking features. The Poppukōn platform was implemented using the Django framework for the Back-End and the Vue framework for the Front-End. Experiments were carried out to find out the user satisfaction about the personalized recommendations presented on the platform. Our results provide evidence that using eye tracking features in a movie recommender system improve the user satisfaction using implicit (gaze) and explicit (rating) information.","PeriodicalId":145622,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE Mexican International Conference on Computer Science (ENC)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126440745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
